We came here for lunch with 6 people & a well behaved dog. We sat outside in the front and had a great time. The food was great- 3 of us had the lobster salad over lettuce, it was outstanding! big chunks of sweet juicy lobster over mixed greens, loved the salad dressing. We also ordered the tuna tartare and chicken wings also good as well as the Cesar salad, so good. Service was great, accommodating and quick to bring out the food shortly after we ordered, so fast! We came here on a beautiful Saturday evening and sat on the back patio, which was nice. There was a DJ after 9:00 as advertised- I didn't mind the music choices though everyone will have their own opinions about that. Separate music playlist inside which they also talk up on their website was pretty good too. The lobster roll was meatier than many others I've had and the fries were just right, so I definitely enjoyed my meal. Would've liked some more interesting beer choices so maybe they can improve on that. read more

We wanted to grab one more drink in town and Daphne's was still open, so we headed in and grabbed the last three open bar stools for a night cap. It's a cool, younger vibe in here. If I'm honest, we were out of place, but the bartender was welcoming and treated us like we belonged there, so we stayed for one more. Drinks were big and strong -- at $16 for a mixed drink with house liquor, they better be. The music was good and not too loud for my tastes, but a police officer did come in and talk to the manager about a noise ordanance which I guess we were breaking. Instead of turning the music down, the manager closed up the glass doors that were open behind us and kept the party going. Genius. Can't speak to the food here but for an end of the night drink? Starting off the first weekend of summer in the Hamptons right with Daphne's! Feeling classy and chic but not too upscale. Outside patio is beautiful with tea lights and becomes a little bit more lively with a dj at night. Nice refreshing drinks, I went with the waiter's recommendation of the cucumber and ginger - delish (after a nice stir). We shared their chicken wings - it was good. Cold Lobster roll came with crispy french fries and a little salad (worth it!). Get one of their sauces (sweet chilli aoili), for an extra punch with the fries. Daphne was delicious. a bit of a limited menu with a confusing mix of cuisines, but we loved everything we got! The hummus plate had a beautiful presentation with a VERY light spread of hummus on the plate. The hummus itself was light and lemony, the naan was crispy and the vegetables tasted fresh. Walked into a basically empty restaurant at 6:30.pm Ordered food at 6:50 pm and the food took an hour to arrive. When I asked about our meal after 45 minutes the waiter pointed out it was a new menu and apologized. We ate our food and saw chef come out of kitchen and speak to patrons he knew at another table. Went to Daphne's for a pre cocktail party bite to eat. The reservation was made for three (confirmed by the text message confirming the reservation). The hostess tried multiple times to seat our party of three inside at a round table in a corner clearly made for two. We kept saying we are a party of three but she was not listening. We then offered to go outside where there were open tables. She took us outside and again pushed us towards a table for two. Finally I asked if we could take the empty six-top near the door that was conveniently also next to a heater (it was getting chilly). She said it was reserved. She then went inside to figure things out. I sat at the table while we waited. She came back out and said we could have the table. Good, because I was not moving. This was basically fifteen minutes of my life that I will not get back. We were going for elsewhere for cocktails so we passed on alcohol. We ordered hummus and baby vegetables for the table. A simple dish but this was the Platonic idea. The best hummus I have ever had. I had to stop myself from not eating the entire plate. I was peckish but not hungry hungry so I opted for the shrimp cocktail. The cocktail sauce was horseradish-y enough, but was sweet, like someone added sugar. Interesting but not a choice I'd make. The shrimp were very fresh but I definitely came across some grit. My sister got the cold lobster roll that has celery and apples in it and a side salad. She seemed very happy. My BIL ordered something that came in a bowl that I am not seeing on the online menu. He said he liked it but it was not something he'd order again. I expected Hamptons sticker shock but everything seemed reasonably priced. I absolutely loved the vibe of this place. Very laid back and cool. It has been a while since I've spent any time in the Hamptons. If I were there more often I could see Daphne's being on a regular rotation. When I come back, I'd definitely visit again. The live music was very good. It was still really early in the evening, so it was kept to a reasonable volume. Last summer this was my favorite spot in WHB. Not anymore, I have celiac and this went from a really exciting place where I could eat all the things I usually can't to just par for the course. They changed their menu and nothing is labeled anymore. They used to have a dedicated fryer but I guess they decided it was too much of a hassle so even though much of the menu of fried things is gluten free they are all cross contaminated. They have chicken milanese and shrimp tempura which are made without gluten containing ingredients; why they would decide to have so much of their fried food be made with gluten free ingredients but not keep a dedicated gluten free fryer is beyond me. read more

I recently made a reservation at Daphne's for a bachelorette dinner for 10, booking it about three weeks in advance. Just two hours before our scheduled 7pm reservation, I received a call from the restaurant asking if we could come earlier. They claimed they had a lot of big parties coming in and didn't want us to feel rushed, which while politely framed, came across as poor planning on their end. Given how far in advance I booked, this was disappointing and felt a bit disorganized. We arrived 15 minutes early regardless and the staff was genuinely appreciative. Service was excellent and the food was great, but if you're booking for a large group use caution! read more

Love Daphne's!!! Such a great addition to WHB. Have eaten there a few times and have always had great food and service. Yes, it's busy and can be crowded, but I'm happy they are thriving and have brought such a great vibe to the town. Waitstaff is always very attentive. I actually ate there last night when a rainstorm came out of nowhere and I was impressed with how well the staff handled the situation. Food -- oysters and salad apps were fresh and carefully curated, branzino was tasty and healthy, the lamb burger pays homage to and surpasses the iconic Breslin burger from nyc Cocktails -- easily the best in the Hamptons, clear that there's a real mixologist present. In addition to trying the choices on the menu (Asian Poire was a standout), we also asked them to make us martinis (always a test of a bar's acumen) and they were on point Service -- not your typical clueless Hamptons waiters, ours new how the drinks were served, ideal temperature of the burger and fish, and took great care to be always present without hovering Ambiance -- we went on peak time in Saturday night, sat indoors, place was packed both in and outside, and as other reviewers pointed out it was loud. Not sure what they were expecting when they go out in the Hamptons, but I imagine it's less crowded and not as loud early or on a week day evening. Best restaurant in the Hamptons!! Great food (one of the best crab cakes in NY), ambience and service. We got a reservation for prime time on Saturday night. Got a great table outside and enjoyed a lovely evening with friends. The staff was great, super quick and knowledgeable, the food was great and came out quickly and the drinks were great (don't forget to try their old Fashioned). We really wanted to like Daphne's. But after three tries we will not be back. The food is mediocre, the very sweet waitstaff is inexperienced and it shows in the service, and the management seems uninterested in making customers satisfied. This last time the food arrived after an hour, without explanation. We asked for bread (which they charged us for although it was not on the menu) and they brought a piece of pita bread cut into six pieces. The crab cake was incredibly fishy smelly and tasting. but the piece de resistance-- and this happened the previous visit too -- was charging for ice for our drinks. One time it was a $4 charge for dirty ice, even though we got plain ice. The second time it was for dirty ice for a Manhattan, which would not use dirty ice. When we asked the waiter he said it was actually for stirring the drink. we got the same explanation this last time. They actually charge extra for stirred, shaken, mixed, but it appears on the bill as ice or dirty ice. It's bizarre at best and unheard of in any restaurant we have been to, and we eat out more than we should! We really wanted them to do well, as an anchor in the town. But they need to improve their customer service if they ever want repeat customers. read more

This place is not for people who want an evening of conversation and good service. Rather, it's so loud you cannot hear your friends. Worse, the service in every way was horrendous. The manager was no where to be found. Finally, the owner came over and made excuses and just about picked a fight with one of us. Strange behavior, indeed. The food, on the other hand, was just ok, French fries, not even cooked and were slimy. Sauces on the fish did not blend. $25 hamburger, only adequate. We only saw our waitress at the beginning of the meal and then not again until the end. The manager assured us that we had the best waitress and we fell into the 2% of people in the whole restaurant who had a bad experience. This restaurant failed all rules of customer service: unprofessional, unprepared and not people-oriented. For those prices, especially, we expected so much more and would never go back. read more

So today Sep 24 my family went for brunch and it's absolutely delicious, we got eggs Benedict, French toast, and the eggs sandwich. Big portions, the hash browns are so good. The service too, our server was so kind to us I can't remember his name. Love the colors it's so cozy and warm. Of course we are going back.
