I'm not sure why Salt & Loft has low rating ? We almost didn't go there. Other restaurants in the area were busy and we didn't have reservations after our little shopping spree at the vintage sale in the Hamptons. So heading back home we found Salt & Loft. We got seated right away. Restaurant is nice inside, has a Mediterranean feel to the ambiance. I love a good Mediterranean restaurant food. We ordered 2 appetizers, Guacamole and Chips and the flatbread. I had a cocktail that was quite tasty. For the main course I ordered the fresh catch of the day Bronzino, which came highly recommended by our server Natalie. It was so delicious, I'm glad I took her recommendation, she was great with all her suggestions and very pleasant. We all enjoyed our orders. We ate here 5/23/25 and the food was absolutely delicious. We had short ribs with polenta which was done really well, with a creamy polenta and red cabbage. The Salmon was cooked perfectly and really delicious too. We also had the fettuccine with shellfish in a little spicy tomato sauce, that was really tasty. From The specialty drinks menu we had the cucumber cosmos and they were so good! The service was also very good and attentive. Food is average and not memorable. The strange thing about this place is that the lunch menu and dinner menu have the same items on it at different prices. I was handed the lunch menu and the burger was $22 or lobster roll at $45 but then retracted that menu and given the dinner one, and the prices changed to $24 and $50. Strange that the menu prices change for the exact same food. They also charge a 3.5% fee for anyone paying with a credit card. Shame on you! Overall it's not a place worthy of returning and a bit disappointing logistically with the cost of things. read more

This place is absolutely infested with bugs of all kinds. Walking by this place at first glance, Salt & Loft looks like a cute, trendy bar and restaurant. The front is open, so it gives the bar an outdoor seating type of feel, but I guess that's how their bug problem started. It wasn't just one or two bugs -- the ceiling has actual nests forming in the corners. Bugs fly all around the bar, land on the soda guns, and are bold enough to crawl right up to your glass. I could maybe, maybe overlook this if the service was any good, but it was not. Our bartender barely communicated with us the entire time we were at the bar (we were the only ones there which...makes sense in retrospect.) I ordered the spicy margarita that came with no salt. I asked for a salt rimmed glass, she gave it to me without pouring it in for me. She basically threw my mom's Strawberry Paloma at her without any communication, no "Here you go - would you like a straw?" Two stars because my mom's paloma was really good - my spicy margarita had no kick to it at all though. Not sure what the heck is going on at this place but for the love of god, can someone please clean the bug nests out of the ceiling. read more

We had a great experience at Salt and Loft a few evenings ago. The service was excellent. The menu was interesting and the food delicious. We sampled the butternut squash soup, the tuna tartar, as well as a burger, and all were very very well done. We had excellent service and excellent cocktails. We really wanted to love this place. The space itself was so incredible cute and clean, but the service is so abysmal it's actually like they want guests to suffer. As I suspect most other diners were, we resorted to Salt & Loft because the wait at flora next door was over 2.5 hours. The man who greeted us, who I suspect is the owner, is a little off and has basically no social skills or hospitality. We were seated right away, but unfortunately I didn't check the Yelp reviews until after we were seated. I wish they were wrong, but the service here is pathetic and actually makes you sad for the one server they have who does both the serving and the bar tending and is maybe 20 years old. The owner walks around and doesn't help in any way and the tables are all complaining loudly to this poor girl. The food is delicious, though. The scallops were fantastic and seared perfectly, the mussels were so good we were basically drinking the broth they were in. The drinks were good, except for the plastic (???) wine glasses. For $70 a bottle, they can splurge on glass... I hope I won't be back, but the lack of nice restaurants in west Hampton suggests otherwise. STOP OVERWORKING YOUR STAFF! I came here for lunch on Sunday afternoon. We were seated pretty quickly and got menus quickly as well by the wait staff is a little slow- that might be the area as well. They have a lot of seating indoor as well as outdoor, in the front on the main road as well as a backyard. Lots of tables with about 4 to 6 chairs each. well laid out with lots of space in between so you don't feel crowded. there is only one bathroom however so the line can be long for that. We asked for a dozen oysters and was given 6 but they rectified the error quickly. We also got the tuna burger as well as the fish tacos. I do recommend the tuna burger it was really well made. I was informed that the dinner menu and service is better, and for lunch they typically do not have full staff on call. So I would recommend coming here for dinner as well for perhaps a different experience. read more

This was a disappointing experience. We were seated without menus, while the table next to ours, who were seated after us, was immediately given theirs. We had to flag down a waitress to request menus. The Diet Coke soda gun wasn't working, and the iced tea was very pale and watery. The food for our table neighbors was accidentally delivered to our table, while our food had still not arrived. The burger was overcooked. I will say the chicken sandwich was tasty. It has its doors open to Main Street for bringing the outside in, and a nice rear patio with tables for sitting outside. This place is one of the worst establishments I've been to in quite some time, and I normally wouldn't say that in my yelp reviews, because mostly they are positive ones, but this place, is...awful. It's sad because the location couldn't be more prime, it's in the dead center of Westhamptons downtown, and it has open air concept with beautifully redone and modeled interior, but in all honesty, it's a trap. My girlfriend and I went just to get a quick drink. Started off fine, hostess was nice enough, she couldn't have been older then 20, and I figured out later that it was absolutely everyones "first day" We sat at the bar, and saw that the bartenders/servers, all 20 of them, were just kids. They all were wandering around like they had no idea what to do. They were eating food next to the computer, not paying any attention to customers, and they all said it was their first day. Eventually someone came over, rudely asking us, are you getting anything? We said yeah, no need for the attitude. I asked for an Old Fashioned, and wanted to know what the bourbon was they used as house, girl said one second, came back, and said "it's bourbon", and I just laughed at the stupidity of that, and said okay Mojito then. Also, there are no managers. This place reminds me of Never Never land, because it's all run by kids and there are no grownups. Awful establishment, probably why it's rated 2 stars. read more

The star is for the Nutella crepes and the acoustic female performer in the patio area. Went here on Saturday. Last year we tried it out and had a lackluster experience but figured why not give it one more try. Avoid salt & loft at all costs!! We were seated and it took 15 minutes for a waitress to take our order. It was after 8pm. The place was busy but not line out the door busy like flora (I highly recommend flora instead) Order was taken. Simple enough one vodka martini and an order of nutella crepes. - waitress didn't ask if we wanted water. She asked if she could bring some for our puppy. 10 minutes later water was brought for our dog and a couple was seated across from us. 25 minutes later - the couple seated across from us got their drinks and one on the house because the bartender messed up their order. - no drink was brought to us. 30 minutes later nutella crepes arrived and when asked about the drink order we got the ol "oh, that's right, ummmmm let me check w the bartender" 35 minutes later - still no drink order by this time I went into the restaurant area and asked. No straight answer given. Even spoke with the Jeffrey Epstein looking manager who was eating French fries - he said he would "get right on it" - he didn't. 40 minutes later!!! The martini was brought out in an oversized shot glass (less of the amount in a martini glass) the excuse was "we ran out of martini glasses" - no common sense to tell the customer this or put it in a rocks glass was thought of. We asked for the check and gave our card - no mention of "this drink is on the house given. Another 15 minutes passed and I walked in. I saw the waitress who told me she gave our check w our credit card to the owner who was sitting eating French fries. When asked he had no effing clue where it was. Finally it was found and out of nowhere he said "I have a martini in a martini glass for you." - excuse me buddy are you that late to this conversation. It took another 10 minutes for him to take the drink order off the check. All the waitresses are female and under 24 with little or no experience. The owner is a creepy looking Jeffrey Epstein guy who probably hires only young women. Avoid this place. It's not worth the time money or experience and definitely not worth the $18 for a s_itty martini. - mind you during this whole ordeal every other person seated after us had received their drinks and food. Avoid at all costs and if you have daughters don't let the manager talk to them or hire them. read more

I stopped in after seeing Salt & Loft during my previous visit to Westhampton Beach. My experience is based upon lunch at the bar. It's a nice location at the end of the beautiful main street. I was seated immediately at about 2:00PM on a Saturday. Service was prompt and they cleared and cleaned the bar before I sat down. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich which came with fries along with a draft beer. A nice summer afternoon lunch. The beer was served immediately and the sandwich came in the time you would expect. All good. Overall, it was a nice experience and exactly what I was looking for. I felt that the prices were reasonable for what I had. I would certainly go back. read more

The bar area is always full of flies and everything is sticky. Literally... always flies The food: ordered a basic Burger w NO bun....the bartender brings it to me with the bun and says...oh I told them no bun but yet still proceeds to hand it to me. Ummm.. hello... what if I had/have a gluten allergy. Assuming she just took it back to the kitchen and took the bun off. Asked for the burger to be cooked medium.... this burger was basically raw. At this point I wasn't interested in having it remade because it just didn't seem like the bartender cared since she didn't even bother to take the bun off. Went here on a weekend for lunch. All tables were dirty. They have people but it doesn't seem that busy to clean tables. So we were told to just choose a table so we sat on one and we had to remind them twice that we have been waiting coz nobody gave us a menu yet. Saturday night in West Hampton. We arrived at 7 and the place was empty. After reading lackluster reviews we hesitantly decided to give it a try for a party of 8. High level, 7 of 8 people loved their meal! Started with apps of mussels, Caesar salad, french onion soup. All were very good, though the mussels were a bit bland. Drinks were good too . Mains we had the burger, steak, salad with shrimp, salmon, specials of scallops, and soft shell crabs. Everyone was very happy, "steak cut with a regular knife that was like it was butter", "soft shell crabs were grilled and juicy". Would skip the bland shrimp, but everything else was a hit. Prices are expensive but its on par with most restaurants in the area. Service was attentive, although not super well versed on the menu. Live music and sitting outside, it was a very pleasant experience! Also when we left at about 8:45 it was pretty filled up. Give it a try. read more

The space is really nice, and the location is great. The tuna tartare came out first and was great. Unfortunately, that's where it ended. It's just not a good restaurant. Our food bland and not well cooked. Salmon was overcooked, but somehow the skin was almost uncooked and was inedible. The fries were uncooked to the point we had to send them back to get new ones, which were the same. The mussels were in a really bland, off-putting sauce that tasted like unsalted water steeped in smoked paprika. The drinks were not great. The seafood pasta had nice seafood, but almost no pasta, and the sauce was not that good. The service was not great -- nobody checked on us after our food came, and at one point we had to get up to get some stuff we needed ourselves. It was quite expensive -- over $300 for two adults and two kids. And it made my stomach hurt afterward very much. Do not recommend at all. read more

I really was rooting for this place as WHB has few good dining options. This recently built restaurant uses attractive building materials but that's sort of where the kudos start to taper off. Have been there twice now, lunch during the season and dinner off-season. First time, we made a reservation for seven but when we arrived there was no table. Wait staff seems inexperienced as everything took a long time. Both times we went we were served on disposable plates: paper first time, plastic the second time. Food is good (I especially liked the local diver scallops), but probably 25% overpriced -- especially off paper plates. read more

While staying in West Hampton for a family wedding, the night after an intimate group of 20 of us had an amazing meal together at Salt & Loft. The ambiance of the restaurant was so cozy and relaxing especially how the whole front of the place open up for bringing the indoor bar experience feel like being out side. Our table service by Natalia was amazing. She is a beautiful polite and well attentive Ukrainian young woman which her personality alone added to our dining experience. Such a sweet girl, I was even willing to adopt her. From the soups and salads to the awesome entree's, we all enjoyed everything as we know we put your kitchen staff into high gear to keep up with our little crowd... Julia our bar tender was awesome as well, putting up with multiple drink orders and service with a beautiful smile as people walking by stopped in to join in our fun. All in all, I have to say Barry, you have a gem of a restaurant with a great staff that made our entire experience well worth it for us to come back again when we are in town! read more
