It's pretty much outside seating, but there are a few tables inside by the bar. No one sat there. We ordered the warm lobster rolls and they were absolutely delicious. They were seasoned perfectly and there was a perfect amount of melted butter on the lobster. The roll was soft and fresh and also delicious. The mudslide is more like a dessert. Visited Greenport for the day and wanted to have lunch at Claudio's Restaurant which I haven't been to in 5 years. Although disappointed that it was closed I did notice the Claudio's Waterfront restaurant at the end of the dock. Although there were empty tables there was a 30 minute wait ( assumed another staffing shortage especially when noticing only 1 waitress ). Decided to wait at the bar where the bartender Evan explained the beer taps were down so had to settle with a can of beer in a plastic cup. However Evan informed us we could place a food order at the bar which I took advantage of rather than wait 30 minutes for a table. After the table seating and beer tap fiascos I was pleasantly surprised with our grilled jumbo shrimp, salmon and humus platters. The shrimp were indeed jumbo served over rice with a sweet glazing ( special glazing sauce from their chef) while the salmon was moist and flaky served with rice drizzled with its own semi sweet glazing. Humus platter was served with pita bread along with celery and red pepper strips. The fish tacos were generously portioned but slightly dry. Evan was outstanding working both roles as bartender and waiter and made for a pleasant experience. Despite the obvious staffing shortage Evan never displayed any frustration and remained friendly and attentive throughout. Overall a nice waterfront restaurant serving some reasonably priced food items offering table service ( when there is staff ) and featured a full service bar. There is a stage for live music when offered and there's dock space for those arriving via boat. Additionally the town of Greenport offers several food establishments and plenty of shopping choices. Ferry service to and from Shelter Island and LIRR train service available. read more

The food we ordered (burger for kids, clam chowder bowl, and lobster roll with fries) were all delicious. Loved the wedge fries and the CT lobster roll was legit! In terms of service, the place wasn't busy when we arrived around 5:15pm and our entrees didn't come out until about 6:20pm! Had an IG push for Captain Claudio's Bloody Mary which is a pitcher of Bloody Mary with a lobster, shrimp and bacon in it so we HAD to do it with our friends. It did not disappoint and just seeing it before drinking/eating it was a great experience. We enjoyed the bloody with a side of mimosas and then a bunch of food. The food (chicken wrap, Mahi tacos, chicken fingers and pasta with the last two being for the kids) was pretty good. You're truly coming to this place for the scenery and some drinks. My husband and I made a day trip out east to enjoy lunch and spend some time walking around town. When we arrived at Claudio's, we put our name on the waitlist and were told the wait would be about 30 minutes. After returning, we waited another 15-20 minutes at the host stand before being informed there was a kitchen issue and that they were no longer seating guests. The host assured us that we would still be able to order food, but after finally being seated, our waiter told us the kitchen was no longer serving food because of the same issue. After waiting roughly 25 minutes just to place an order and watching food continue to come out of the kitchen the entire time, our frustration kept growing. We eventually received our meal, but it was honestly mediocre. There are likely much better places to eat in the area. The waterfront setting and live music were enjoyable, and that's really what you're paying for. Unfortunately, the poor communication, long waits, and overall experience outweighed the positives for us. read more

A summertime excursion is making a day of visiting the town of Greenport, where Claudio's is located and shopping is abundant. Oftentimes, we take the ferries from Sag Harbor. On the return trip, we have the ferry option and/or driving through the towns to our final destination. Since Claudio's is usually busy, I made a reservation prior to shopping. I asked if Steamers were available. The hostess confirmed they were. Twenty-five minutes later, seated at a table looking out at the dock and sea, I asked the waitress about if Steamers were available. Her reply, "As of this morning, no they are not." Although we enjoyed the scenery, good service, our seafood wraps, tacos and French fries, I remained disappointed. read more

Now the criticism; service was painstakingly slow starting with the bar and following to the table. Getting drinks and food within a reasonable timeframe seemed outside the staff's capabilities. Food was below my expectations. I ordered a marinated steak which for the price point was poor. The requested cook was acceptable but there was no flavor. I would have expected a better quality meat with a proper marinade at $42. Nacho appetizer was average, Fried calamari was very good but the thimble of sauce was insufficient, chicken wings never showed up. Claudio's is a popular spot for pier dining in Greenport right on the bay. Only one of us ordered food-the beau got the fish and chips-while our drink order consisted of a very strong dark and stormy, a frozen marg, and a frozen lemonade. The lemonade wasn't too frozen, but my frozen marg was great! Even better was a Casamigos promo gal walking around giving away shots/samples, so I topped off my drink. Music was kinda a vibe kill. Made the place feel like a loud bar in Cancun. If you park on the pier, you'll pay for parking, but Claudio's has a 50% off coupon at the host stand. read more

As soon as we get there me and my family can see CLEARLY 8 tables open for sitting, the host tells us that there is a 1 hour and 30 minute wait. Are you serious, we ask the host kindly why those tables are still open after we waiting and she rudely gives us attitude and tells us "there's 7 people ahead of you give me 5 minutes" okay tell me why she sat us 2 minutes later... seems to have caught someone lacking... okay now we are seated and our waitress is taking her sweet time coming to take our order. At least 15 minutes go by and she FINALLY makes her way over and takes our order. Now tell me why it took us 30-40 minutes to receive our food and when our food came to the table, only three plates came out instead of four. Our waitress says she would get the plate right away. Lies. She had another plate and went to another table and still made my mom wait another 5-10 minutes FOR HER PLATE. One of our orders was overcooked and charred. My order had a side of fries and I only received about five french fries. And tell me why we had to ask for ketchup3 times when the table beside us was already served ketchup before their meal came. We had an order of four fries and we had to ask for ketchup about 3 times. The cherry on the cake for this unfortunate experience was the fact that we watched a table get seated while we were waiting for our food and get their food in about 20 minutes. Instead, we found a restaurant that bears little resemblance to what made it special. The menu was extremely limited, with surprisingly few seafood options. The ambiance was cold, sterile, and uninviting. On a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant was nearly empty, which was not a good sign. What saddened me most was not even the disappointing menu. It was the complete absence of the warmth, character, and sense of place that once defined Claudio's. The restaurant feels like an empty shell of its former self. The history, charm, and personality that made generations of visitors return year after year seem to have disappeared. For those of us who have loved this place for decades, it is genuinely heartbreaking to witness. Claudio's was more than just a restaurant--it was part of the fabric of Greenport. Visited on June 19 during the USA World Cup game. The crowd was fun cheering on the USA. We ordered nachos, raw clams, baked clams, coconut shrimp as apps. All delish. Ordered fried tacos, lobster Mac and cheese, Cobb salad and lobster roll for main meals with a side of onion rings - all great. Margaritas and the blue drink (forgot the name) were delish.
