I feel the cost is a little on the high side, HOWEVER, you get what you pay for! An excellent melt in your mouth cheesecake without an allergic reaction and anaphylaxis! Worth every penny and I have spent quite a lot pennies at this place. When you get a cheesecake, be forewarned that it more than likely is frozen- it has to be since there are no preservatives!! I like to get home and cut it into 4ths and put back into the freezer to freeze them to keeep them from getting to soft and mushy since I only eat a 1/4 at a time. Plus it's easier to cut them when they are frozen. My only wish is that they had a sugar free version.... But then again, maybe it's a blessing in disguise! I would be there every week and my pocketbook would be tapped out! They do also have vegan cheesecakes, and I tried two- but I honestly wasn't very fond of them. I think they had a good flavor, but it was a texture issue for me and a personal preference. So don't hold that against them! I'm sure if you're vegan, you would appreciate them. Another note: they have odd hours in my opinion. The only time I can go get my cheesecake fix is when I'm on this side of Durham- (my job is driving everywhere in the RTP and further, and when I don't end my day on this side of Durham, I don't make the special trip. I got two banana puddings, one strawberry shortcake, one apple cobbler, and one oreo cheesecake. They blew my mind. The star of the show was the banana pudding. She also bakes the nila wafers by herself so these were amazing, creamy, and PERFECT. I feel like even if you hated bananas you'd still love this because it's so good. My second favorite was the apple cobbler! As someone who doesn't usually eat pie it definitely surprised me and it was super flavorful and melted right in my mouth. Ordered was lemon with raspberry filling. UNACCEPTABLE: the filling was pure white and did not have a hint of raspberry. The lemon cake was edible (not great, rather bland) and moist and would have been delightful with raspberry filling. Instead, it was barely edible and fell short of the design we requested. The cake presentation was not like the photos I provided, but I was able to salvage the cosmetic appearance by adding more greenery. I am aghast that I spent that much for such a mistake. The response was defensive that no mistakes were made and terse with no solution offered. First: I was told I don't know what raspberry tastes like: "Regarding the filling, our decorator has confirmed that the cake contained raspberry mousse between the 2-Layers. For clarity, our raspberry mousse is a white mousse base with real raspberries mixed in. Have you tried this specific filling with us previously?" Not a hint of raspberry flavor as confirmed by the 15 guests. But what do we know. "While we sincerely regret that the cake did not meet your expectations, we have determined that the order was fulfilled as requested. Consequently, we are unable to offer a price adjustment for this order." The last email I sent was ignored. That's how we ended up here. It appears the business originally opened sometime in 2021 and had a targeted opening date of May 8, 2021, perhaps for the physical store: https://www.instagram.com/p/COeFlbnjCGJ Funnel Me Crazy's Facebook and Instagram appeared to go dark between June 1, 2021 and April 6, 2022. According to their Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, the store opened on April 8, 2022: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=714803593264417 They seem to be on top of their social media game. At the time of posting this review, @funnelmecrazy has 39.8K followers on Instagram. During our visit on a Sunday around 5:45pm, this place was busy. Inside, almost every seat was taken. I guesstimate only about 15, maybe 20, people can sit inside here comfortably. I think most orders are to-go. Dine-in orders are served on trays, so the serving style is different depending on if you dine in or take out. The in-person ordering setup is weird and seems inefficient. You place your order at one part of the counter and pay at another. Why wouldn't you order and pay at the same spot like, for example, most cafes and bubble tea joints that are of similar size and setup? Maybe it's a routing/crowding issue. I can see that given the layout here. During our visit, there was classic funnel cake (regular 6-inch for $6, deluxe 8-inch for $8), 12 special funnel cake "flavors" (with various toppings, regular 6-inch for $10, deluxe 8-inch for $12), fried Oreos (6 for $5.50), and "Crazy Lemonades" ($3.50-4.50 each). Funnel cake flavor examples included Banana Pudding with Nilla Wafer crumbles, Churro with caramel sauce, and S'mores with toasted marshmallows. We got the Birthday Cake (regular 6-inch for $10). It consisted of a funnel cake topped with powdered sugar, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and sprinkles. It was good. The funnel cake was deep-fried-to-order so it came out nice and warm and crispy. Overall, with toppings, it was nothing too fancy. It came exactly as described. I love sprinkles so I could've used more of those, but not a big deal. We enjoyed it. Service was fine. Looked like they had a full staff on-hand. My wife said she would come back depending on how badly she's craving funnel cakes. One thing is for certain: Funnel Me Crazy has made funnel cakes more accessible in this area. No longer do you have to go to the fair to get them. Funnel Me Crazy is hidden from street view. You have to drive into the shopping center to find it.
