Oh, and very importantly, they are *insured* which is a BIG plus if a worker injures themselves on your property. This time I had them do a massive amount of trimming...multiple golden arborvitae, cypresses, fruit trees and tall palm trees. I know if I ask them to trim something and it won't look good, they will tell me it won't work well and give me the reason why. I've learned to trust their judgement on this. Will use them again next year.

It started off great…read morewhen he knew they had a big money job coming when I had them cut down and grind stumps on a good amount of large trees. Marcelino was responsive at first until the the job was complete. They did break my sprinklers and bumped into my water system but they were able to repair it the same day. One of the workers also broke my outdoor exercise machine as they were fooling around on it. I let these 2 things slide. What I found out later was that they did not complete the job. They were supposed to grind some stumps but buried it with all of the mulch instead hoping I wouldn't find out. This is when I attempted to get a hold of Marcelino to which he ignored me A LOT. I've remained extremely polite through this process but he still brushed me off continuously and did not pick up any of my phone calls. After letting him know that he will be seeing me in court, he finally responded and sent a guy to finish the job and offered to do some more work that day for free. Then they NO SHOW me not once, but TWICE on appointments. I've taken work off to make sure I was home for them to come which was a complete waste of my time and money. When one of his guys finally shows up with the minimum amount of equipment to do that single job, none of the extra free work promised was delivered. He then disappears after I show him the work he needed to do. So I texted Marcelino again to see where he went to which he said he needed to fill up gas. This I understand but where is the communication? It almost felt like he ran away because he found out he wasn't getting paid for this particular job. After he was done, I continued to try to get a hold of Marcelino for the work that his guy promised but couldn't deliver due to the lack of equipment but Marcelino has ignored me ever since. Anyway, I can go on forever about this business but I'll wrap it up - I'm giving them 2 stars, added one because they actually completed the job after me having to chase them down. But to summarize the way these guys do business: unprofessional, scammy, dishonest, greedy, and horrible communication. I do not like to leave these kinds of reviews for businesses, but I feel that people need to know. Be cautious when dealing with Marcelino and his team.

I looked at my own cypress trees, I'd say they were 25+ feet tall. We knew it would be hard to top our trees with the equipment we had. One of our trees had broke about 7 feet up and fell toward the house. Another tree had a heavy lean toward the neighbors yard. We knew they needed to be trimmed. I walked over to the neighbors house and saw Jose's truck with his phone number. I went back over after he came down and asked if he could come give us an estimate. Small language barrier, I was able to call our friends next door and she translated for me. Wanted the trees topped and brought down to a managable height. He let me know he would come over and give an estimate after he was done cleaning up the current job. Jose came over, took pictures and with an editing tool asked where we wanted the trees cut to. We agreed on a price and he advised he would be over the next day, 9AM. We shook hands and he left. Saturday morning he came over with one other employee and again, confirmed where we wanted the trees cut to. He also advised one tree looked dead and we agreed he would take it down. I watched them work from inside, it was impressive as he climbed up and took out the trees, one by one. The two got started and knocked out 10 trees, cleaned up and did and AMAZING job! Jose's Tree Service worked so hard and our backyard looks great. We feel better knowing our trees are at a safe height and a lot of weight taken off of them. If you are not fluent in Spanish I suggest using google translate or have someone to translate. Jose takes cash or zelle. Highly reccomended!
