They came out to do an estimate of trimming the top of a tall tree, removing a stump, and removing a bunch of branches I had already trimmed. The price was great and they were kind and great with communication. When they came out to do the trimming, we asked if they could do more trimming of a second tree and they were very flexible and we agreed on additional cost for their additional work. Decided to give these guys a try based on some of the reviews. I tried to schedule a consultation for some tree work that needed to get done on my property. So, I requested a consultation and received an automated reply which allowed me to schedule a day and time. Shortly, thereafter I scheduled accordingly and received confirmation for the tree removal consultation. Had a small job in the front yard done. Very prompt and professional service. Would recommend!

TLDR: Don't pay more to get less. Hire someone else. We got an in-person quote for gardening service. While we thought the cost was a little high, we were willing to pay more for better service. Unfortunately, we got worse service instead. During the in-person quote I set clear expectations of what we needed. One part I mentioned was helping us identify some plants to remove - and putting together a quote to get that done. This was never put together, despite asking regularly. Another part I mentioned was separating some of our bushes from our fence. They never mentioned an extra cost during the in-person quote, so this seemed to be a reasonable ask. After a few services, the fence bushes still hadn't been improved. I asked them for a quote on servicing our backyard - trying to support them and give them more business - and now they want to work on the fence line bushes as part of a separate project (for more money). I told them I wanted them to do the fence line bushes regardless of the backyard - as previously discussed - and said I was willing to pay more or schedule an additional service to do it. They never got back to me. Finally, they do a pretty bad job of cutting grass. The grass was cut very unevenly on multiple occasions. I mentioned to them that this was an issue because the grass grows to block the sprinklers, which causes dead patches. They said they'd cut it better next time. Next time came, and they cut the grass really unevenly again. When I mentioned it to them, they decided to discontinue our service. Do not hire these people. They apparently can't cut grass. I'd like to believe their tree services are better, but they also told me they couldn't find a place to buy good tree stakes, so I'm doubting the tree service is much better. read more

Have had Jaime and their team come by to service our palms multiple times throughout the years and can't believe I haven't given them a review before. Trimmed and cleaned 3 queen palms in the backyard. They were very quick and efficient and left the yard clean. Our trees are close to other neighbors and every time they come they make sure that none of the large debris falls into other people's yards, which I can't say was the case the few times I had to go to others for trimming. I had 3 overgrown trees in my front and back yard. They needed trimming and I had a tight budget. I had SSAW quote on the one that I didn't get done by another person who wasn't licensed to do this type of work. He gave me a fair quote for the tree, the largest of the three, and trimmed it without any issues. I wished I had called him first, and I plan on calling him again for any more landscaping work I need to have done. Only reason I'm not giving him 5 stars is that I wish he would of responded the first time I asked for a quote about a year ago. There's a lot of unlicensed contractors out there so be certain that they know what they are talking about before you hire them. Jaime and team transformed my front lawn. They were very thorough in not only pulling out the scrappy yard I had before, but they also pulled out the rocks and construction materials left by builders a decade ago (that were killing my previous lawn) and tilled in better topsoil to give the new law a better chance of survival. These extra steps were not part of the original deal, but Jaime did it because he does quality work -- at no extra charge. He also improved the sprinkler system to be more thorough and efficient. All this at a very competitive price. Jaime gave me some free advice on how to take care of my fruit trees and back lawn. I originally asked him for a quote to replace my back lawn as well, but he suggested I take some much cheaper steps to remove weeds and reseed it ... because it was much more salvageable than the front yard. We've been using SSAW for our basic landscaping maintenance care for a few months now. The initial clean up they did was amazing and in my opinion worth the price. If I were to review just that, I'd give them 5 stars. However, I feel we are paying WAY too much for their service now. Yes, my lawn is mowed. Yes, my front bushes are trimmed. But, our mulch is pushed away from the weed mats in several areas and looks sloppy. There are weeds that haven't been pulled next to our fence line, and weeds growing in the cracks of our patio and in our lawn. Basically, I feel we're paying a premium rate for basic lawn mowing and nothing else. I expected more. I feel I can do a better job maintaining my yard myself. read more

Been meaning to sing their praises. I found them finishing up a neighbors lawn and hired them on the spot to take care of our landscape as well. I can also attest that Jaime and his crew are very good at what they do -- and care! At the height of the drought I was ready to sacrifice the lawn, however, Jaime was able to give me tips on how/when to water to keep the lawn, as he took pride in the look of my home as a corner lot beauty. With other reviewers mention of lack of communication, I have not had the problem. I know there is no excuse for poor customer service in any form, however, potential customers and current customers will find their work exceptional. Sometimes we as an instant gratification society need to understand that the world does not revolve around me,myself&I. If you have not received returned calls, just consider they may just be out in the Tracy heat working on someone else's lawn. The Good: I called Jaime, and he came out same day to give an estimate on redoing my backyard (it was just dirt and cement). He discussed options and gave great recommendations on what would work in my area. His estimate was well under the other companies' that came out, and he even cleaned up my front yard before he left that day.
