John, the director of Open Arts Studio, is a dynamic guy who is so charismatic...it's easy to envision him sitting at a piano, leading a bunch of people in song around a piano a la Cole Porter. He's the voice teacher and drawing teacher and he's great at both. Home schoolers note: they offer classes during the day for home school students! For me, one caveat is the price. It's not astronomical, but most classes are about $125 for a session, about 5 classes, and it adds up. I believe it's because of this that some classes aren't very full. On the up side, if you take more than one class, or have multiple children enrolled, you get a 10% discount. They hope to add cooking classes somewhere down the line. We are looking forward to the addition as I know my daughter would learn a lot because they are both organized and inspiring at Open Arts!

I took my daughter to a birthday party here in the past and she had a lot of fun so she asked to have her next birthday party here. My daughter had an amazing time on the day of her birthday. Meredith and her mom are really kind and great with kids. The inside of the shop is very cozy and comfortable. A lot of parking available outside. I highly recommend checking out Craft Theory and we look forward to coming back in the future!

We had organized a kids' bday party and it was a wonderful, bright experience. One of the workers, Jenny B., hosted. She happily took the onus with the 9-10 y/o kiddos, patiently instructed them (we chose making bracelets as the project, but there are many projects from which to choose) and let them create freely from there! A much appreciated reprieve from all the digital interaction kids engage with these days. Both the parents and kids appreciated! It was refreshing to see them use their gifts and get the rest of their fingers working--other than just the thumbs. Thank you for making our child's bday a memorable one! See you soon!

Most of the art are paintings, but there are also sculptures, photography, jewelry, and even some furniture. I am one of the local artists, and I have been so impressed by how well they have treated me and all the other artists I've met. Their customer service is beyond anything I've encountered before! They work closely with both artists and customers to create a customized experience, unique to each person's needs. It's definitely well worth your time to check them out!! The artwork is frequently rotated, but you can see their full collection by clicking on each artist on their website. Anything you would like to see in person, they'd easily arrange. They also host a solo artist exhibition each month with lovely complimentary food and beverages. It makes for a great date night!!!
