Having been a repeat satisfied customer at their Freehold location, I gave Federici's in Belmar a try while in the Jersey Shore area. Their outdoor seating area is open for dine in and they take reservations via OpenTable. For a late lunch, it wasn't crowded at all. All the tables were distanced apart & the business takes health guidelines seriously. All the employees properly wear their masks, provide single use menus, and only allow one masked person at a time inside the restaurant should you wish to use the restroom. They provide single use condiments to avoid common use containers. I noticed they were vigilant in cleaning & disinfecting tables once guests left. The pizza (4.5/5) is thin crust & crispy, with the perfect amount of sauce and cheese. Mozzarella sticks (4/5) were hearty and big, though a little lacking in breading flavor. Overall, I'm rounding up to 5 stars for the delicious pizza, excellent service, & commitment to adhering to health/safety guidelines. read more

We love this restaurant!- in another life this was the iconic Vesuvio's and they have adopted the famous Jim Salad from the old Vesuvio days, which is a terrific salad. The thin crust pizza with toppings and eggplant parm at Federici's can't be beat - everything is always fresh and cooked to order. On our last visit (just last week) - and I should mention we dine at Federici's about once a month -- the waitress politely told us that they are now adding 3% to all credit card (or debit) payments. This kind of surprised us and we're hoping this will not be a new trend for restaurants. It's bad enough that we have to mortgage the house to buy groceries these days : ), but for restaurants to tack on an extra 3% to cover their bank fees just seems to be taking advantage of us as patrons - especially in these difficult inflationary times. Please re-consider the extra 3% charge to customers who pay with a credit or debit card. Thank you! read more

Went early on a Saturday to try to get a table quickly. Walked right in. Waitress was great - friendly and attentive. Ordered personal pizza to share and calamari. Both were excellent. Pizza really thin, sauce delicious. Calamari crispy and sauce good to dip in (though not really spicy). Chicken parm dinners for both of us - again sauce tasty but I would have preferred my chicken pounded a little thinner. Otherwise, everything great! Would definitely return! read more

I'm born and raised in Neptune, NJ so whenever home I must get pizza. I have my usual spots that are tried and true but I heard this place was on point. Service was great, we were greeted and sat right away. Server was pleasant and told us where we could get some beer for BYOB. We ordered the calamari, it came hot and fresh. It was only the rounds and tasted frozen but the marinara was lovely and went so well with dish. Next was a large cheese pizza! In my opinion if the pizza is made well the cheese is perfect. I've been here twice and I have to say, their garlic and oil sauce is incredible. The best I've ever had. And their pasta portions are a good size. There isn't a whole lot to pick and choose from on the menu as a vegan but anytime we're in the mood for pasta, we'll come here from now on. We went last night while very short on time and as usual, the place was packed so I was a little nervous we'd be late. We were seated quickly, we were offered their delicious bread numerous times and our food came out much sooner than I anticipated. So this is the same owners as the Federici's in Freehold. They offer a thin crust pizza and everything you would expect at an Italian restaurant. We had the calamari which has a really tasty batter and fried perfectly. They're bigger pieces of calamari than usual, but really good nonetheless. The Jim salad is like an antipasto but better. Marinara sauce is excellent. My mom had spaghetti and meatballs nice portion excellent meatball good price. We split a mushroom onion pizza and it was great. Recommend 100%. We will be coming back. Major disappointment. Looks can be very deceiving. My fiancé and I ordered a pepperoni pizza and drunken chicken (chicken Parm over vodka sauce). Both extremely bland. The breaded chicken in the drunken chicken taste like it was made earlier in the day and just sat there waiting to be ordered. The chicken was pounded down to 1/8 of an inch plus it was over cooked and very rubbery. The pizza crust taste like the frozen pizza shells you can get at Restaurant Depo. Little to no sauce. It's a glorified cheese bread and not the good kind. This was a waste of $40. read more

However, the garlic bread is made on sesame seeded bread the sesame flavor overpowers the whole thing. Couldn't be happier with this place. Known for their pizza for sure but their menu has so much variety and reliable items. My go to meal is now the Jim Salad - like a sub chopped without the bread. It's unreal! If you're looking for pizza, go for the vodka sauce or white with broccoli. The traditional plain pie is great on its own too! My only complaint is the 2 top booths are super small! Talk about great food & customer service! Let me explain. My boyfriend & I are staying for the week & have been on a crawl for the best eats in Belmar. Federici's has lots of fans, so we decided to order there. Ordering for pickup because we felt underdressed to go out for table service LOL, we ordered the sausage/peppers/onions sandwich, mozzarella sticks, & I did a "pick a pasta". The pasta I chose was Capellini w/ Alfredo sauce & Jumbo shrimp. When we picked it up & got home we realized we were given the wrong food, & suddenly they started calling me! They offered to bring us our food delivered as a sincere apology & to keep the food we got by mistake. Within minutes they arrived w/ our order. The service here is amazing & the food was spectacular overall. I fell in LOVE w/ my pasta & wish that I could take Federici's home w/ me. My boyfriend enjoyed his sandwich too, his only complaint was that it was messy. Mozzarella sticks were a miss, don't bother w/ those, but pls try this place!! The family was celebrating our cousin graduating from the police academy. She chose this place as a back up since her original choice could not accommodate a party of 16. Federici's had the room, but lacked the skill to handle it. Made me realize why the place was fairly empty. They set up the tables by a support beam separating one table from the rest which made little sense but hey, there's worse things, we moved one of the tables around it. The service was slow, to put it generously. For a table of 16, you'd think the waitress would stop by more often. People were caught waiting for drinks and we needing to order 2 more pizzas so one of us had to get up and find the waitress. Other than that, its your average run of the mill greasy thin crust pizza which was light on toppings in my opinion. I definitely would not go back and wouldn't recommend the place to anyone. read more

For those of you who don't know floppy neck is when you pick up a piping hot slice fresh out of the oven, fold it in half and the tip droops over. I must say this was my go to place for a quick delicious meal. . . not anymore!!! Dropped in for a meal. I ordered a dinner on the special menu. It was fine until I added cheese from the shaker and noticed a bug crawling around. We alerted the waitress and she quickly scooped up my dish. She returned a few minutes later and said because I ate half of my meal they were going to reduce the price of my dinner in half. (Pretty sure it wasn't half I ate,but it really doesn't matter ) The waitress said she saw it crawling around and it must have been a fly that flew into my meal! NO it was a Bug, a good siZe Bug I could see without my glasses. That was it!!! No manager came to apologize. No asking me if I would like anything else. No nothing!!! My sons and I love Federici's On 10th! We come here often. One of the reasons we love it is not only because the food and pizza are exceptional, but because of server Melissa. Not only was she was very attentive, but she represented Federici's in a unique way: the restaurant was not particularly crowded but she earned such good will in not rushing us out and telling us to not only enjoy our meal, but said to enjoy my time with my sons. That meant the world to me, particularly when most restaurants want to bring you the check the moment you take your last bite. I have never understood this, particularly in the context when no one is waiting for a table. Folks fall in love with and come back to a restaurant not only for the food, but also for the experience. I originally wanted into this restaurant because I got off the train in Belmar and had to wait a while until my cousin picked me up. The Artichoke Francese looked interesting, so I ordered it over macaroni and some chicken. And OMG!!! I ate it and wanted more and more and more. So much though that I ordered another to take home. I took two of my cousins on two separate times one is vegetarian she took a taste of her meal and her eyes just widened. Another time with my other cousin she ordered three different things and didn't know which one to finish she loved them all. I've tasted their their meals and they were great but my favorite is the Chicken Francese, and I will always eat it every time I go. The wait staff is so nice so helpful the prices are really good there's plenty of parking, I would call ahead on busier nights especially in the summer to see if they need to take your reservation. That is where the nice ended though... we ordered pizza which was thin crust and while it didn't taste horrible, the crust was very thin... wasn't sure whether I was supposed to eat it or roll a cigarette with it. The overdone base gave me the final clue. Also keep in mind no beer. I've been going to the original Federici's in Freehold for a long time, so when this one opened close to my house I was very excited. They did not disappoint - started off with the necessary and always delicious Federici's pizza. This is always great. Thin crust, so it goes fast, but perfect in every way. If you think you want a small, get a large. I also got an entree of penne pasta with sausage, broccoli, and mushrooms in oil and garlic and this was fantastic. Can't wait to go back to have it again. As for the atmosphere, it's nothing too special. As my parents put it, it kind of seems like a maze with high booth walls all around. Aside from that, there really is nothing to complain about. Sad I even have to write such a review as this one. My bf & I came across this pizza shop & decided to come try it out tonight. When we arrived, we asked the little girl at the podium for a table for the two of us. She then proceeded to inform us that tonight (Sunday) was STRICTLY for reservations ONLY. We left & as I looked on their website no where did they mention it is only reservation only on Sundays and they accept walk-ins if tables were available & there were SEVERAL tables available. To be the only two minorities at this restaurant I found it very odd & suspect discrimination! Never again. read more

We decided to pick up a pizza at Federicis on our way home from work this week. Having had the pizza in freehold I felt this would be a good treat, and was willing to overlook the high price of $19. We got home. We live 30 minutes away so it was too far to go back. What a huge disappointment. The pizza was small and horrible tasting. I really believe it was a leftover pizza. It was stale and tasteless. This was our third try at this location. The first try the pizza was ordered with meat ant the pizza came with very little. The manager apologized. And corrected the second try was ok. But on this third try it was so bad that I just can't do it again. I am so disappointed as I have always loved the freehold location and never had bad food there. Mike. I don't remember the date now. It was about a month ago. Probably a day or two before the comment was placed here. It was around 4.30 in the afternoon. The restaurant was not busy at the time and I picked up the pizza from the guys in the kitchen, I wish you could have personally seen the poor quality of that pizza yourself . Federici's had big shoes to fill when it moved into the former Vesuvio's footprint. Vesuvio's was the gold standard in pizza crust and tomato flavor. Well done pies not doughy undercooked messes like what's served at Don's Pizza King just a stones throw away, I digress. Well Bravo to the team at Federici's !!! They nailed it ~ The pizza is amazing, a little salty but the crust is phenomenal, the tomato flavor pops. I would eat pizza more often if I could and only at this place on tenth and the RRX ~ Other items on the menu especially the Chicken Francaise are great. Happy to see the Jim salad live on. My only advice to the owners of this place is to open the inside up, there are these awkward partitions/ booths that are too high and stifle the energy in this packed pizza parlor.
