Best chicken parm sandwich I've had in a long time I am not used to having chicken parm this good. Been disappointed many times by places that make parm that is dry, rubbery, and gray with greasy breading and scorched tomato sauce. I usually like my parm to be a little thick. I went two days ago with my wife and I had a chicken parm sandwich. The chicken was thin, but very fresh, perfectly cooked and delicious. The sauce was excellent, and the chicken was lightly breaded, slightly crisp, and not greasy at all. The bread was slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, like it was freshly baked, high quality Italian bread. There is nothing that could have made this sandwich any better than it already was, and now I am going to be comparing every other chicken parm sandwich I order to this one. Great job! read more

This place was rough. Let's get the positives out of the way: it was clean. With that said, slices that were ordered were cold. Didn't understand why what with a pizza oven there but they don't actually use that to heat the pizzas, they use a small tight oven behind the counter that we noticed was difficult to even get the pizzas out of. I've never seen this before. Very odd setup. The pizza was just terrible. Some of the worst I've had. Nearly frozen pizza level. The service was very poor. We even saw a guy who they forgot a whole pizza for. The teenagers seem like the privileged type that just get a job to be social and show their parents they're busy. We were at the beach all day and just wanted a quick meal. Our waitress was very sweet and told us we could sit wherever we wanted to. We opted for a table outside as it wasn't too hot out. Looking over the menu I decided on a California style chicken hero. The waitress gladly told me that they could grill the chicken for me instead of pan searing it. I also added onions to it because who can eat a chicken sandwich without onions? LOL. My boyfriend orders the eggplant parmigiana with Angel hair pasta. Our waitress came out with some focaccia bread for us since he had ordered a dinner. I thought it was fine but he thought it was too doughy. Too each is own. My sandwich was tasty although it could have had a little more mayonnaise as it was a little dry. The eggplant parmigiana was very good. What the heck happened to this place? We moved from NJ to TX 8 years ago, and recently from TX to MD. Each trip "home" to NJ includes a trip to Spring Lake Pizza. Yesterday we ordered 2 pies to bring to our teenager in MD. We were so excited. My husband immediately grabbed a slice to eat as we drove. He made it through half of a slice and threw the rest in the trash. Flavorless cheese, a crust that tasted like flour - what happened to the semolina on the bottom? They used to have the best cheese we had ever had on pizza. This was $47 of flavorless pizza none of us could eat. It is too late for us, save yourselves. read more

We wanted a quick pizza dinner in town. Everyone working there from the wait staff to the cooks to the owner were so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Up here for lunch on a nice fall Sunday afternoon and sat outside with our two dogs. We enjoy the pizza here but don't expect anything amazing or something you can't find at a lot of other pizza joints. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Great, fresh, HOT food!!!! The owner actually waited on us, and he was very helpful and friendly. Two of the guys split a large pizza and they said it was delicious. My brother got the chicken française and said it was better than in any restaurant he's ever had it. I ordered penne with vodka sauce, peas and crumbled sausage. They special made the order for me and it was to die for. They had the most delicious warm focaccia bread they put on the table. I gotta say. The pizzeria has some solid pizza for the most part. However, every now and then the pizza isn't top quality. I've been about 8 or 9 times now, and 3 of the times the pizza quality plummeted. I'm not sure what happened those night but the pizza quality really suffered and I was offered no compensation for the lack of quality. In all honesty it seems the owner is overcompensating with his ownership for lackluster abilities elsewhere..... So just take this into consideration when patronizing this establishment. Typical pizzeria in atmosphere, but atypical entrees. Wonderfully delicate entrees that are not big on portions, but full of flavor. The shrimp and broccoli over angel hair pasta ($16) was delicious with fresh Parm shavings on top. The rigatoni Bolognese ($14) was rich and meaty. Brought our Girl Scout troop for some pizza making. Barry was a great instructor and all other employees were kind, accommodating and helpful! They brought out fun appetizers while the girls waited for their pizzas to cook and were very patient with our 16 kindergartners. Plus, the pizzas were actually delicious - great sauce and delicious dough! Overall, great experience. Would probably be a great place for a birthday party too! We stopped here for dinner over the summer while visiting the shore. The place is pretty small so we decided to eat outside since it was such a nice day. The tables outside have umbrellas that are adjustable so you can get out of the direct sunlight. Our waitress was super nice. The food was fantastic too. They were pretty busy but were never felt neglected and it was a great experience. We even had a little entertainment while we ate. The people at the table next to us were super nasty. They were complaining about everything. "The sun is too hot." "Where is my food?" "I have some place I have to be." I don't know how servers put up with people like that. Even my 12 year old was disgusted with their behavior. The server handled it great and smiled through it. I can't speak for the quality of the food they received but I think they got the same great service we did. In all, it was great pizza, great service, and priced well. This is my first ever Yelp review as my experience was just that bad and I had to put it in writing and let the public know. I spend the weekends in Spring Lake and I've never had a bad customer experience with the local businesses until now. I wasted $25 on regular slices that were probably sitting there for days and the regular slices were burnt. Who serves burnt pizza? I continued to ask what they had in terms of different available slices as I was with my 2 year old son and literally got no answers until the rude owner told me to take a look for myself. I ordered with 2 different people working there. Completely unorganized and no one had any clue what they were doing except for the rude owner. This is the last I would go for pizza in the spring lake. You are much better off making the trek to Pete and Elda's. read more

We had a terrible experience with Spring Lake Pizzeria tonight! Ordered a Large Caesar salad with Grilled Shrimp for an additional $8 for take-out. When I got the salad home, I found only 4 small shrimp on the salad that I paid a total of $17.06 for or $2 each small grilled shrimp! Called the restaurant and spoke to a young lady who told me that Yes, that is all the shrimp they put on the salad. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that both were off tonight.
