    California chicken hero
    Elizabeth C.

We were at the beach all day and just wanted a quick meal. Our waitress was very sweet and told us we could sit wherever we wanted to. We opted for a table outside as it wasn't too hot out. Looking over the menu I decided on a California style chicken hero. The waitress gladly told me that they could grill the chicken for me instead of pan searing it. I also added onions to it because who can eat a chicken sandwich without onions? LOL. My boyfriend orders the eggplant parmigiana with Angel hair pasta. Our waitress came out with some focaccia bread for us since he had ordered a dinner. I thought it was fine but he thought it was too doughy. Too each is own. My sandwich was tasty although it could have had a little more mayonnaise as it was a little dry. The eggplant parmigiana was very good. We will definitely stop back when at the beach for the day.

    Great gluten-free pie!!

We wanted a quick pizza dinner in town. Everyone working there from the wait staff to the cooks to the owner were so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Great variety in choices and special requests were no problem. The food came out fast, hot and tasty. So happy we stopped in and will definitely return.

The place can use a freshening up of its dining area but other than that the food excellent and the prices are affordable.

The bar is known around town for their martinis, and they definitely live up to the hype. We started with cocktails and appetizers, and everything exceeded expectations. The garlic shrimp cooked in Chardonnay wine and served over crostini was rich, buttery, and packed with flavor. The Blue Point oysters were fresh, briny, and beautifully served--simple, high-quality, and delicious. For entrées, the Norwegian grilled salmon was perfectly cooked and paired with a vibrant tomato basil sauce that complemented it beautifully. The chicken cardinale was hearty and comforting, with red sauce, mushrooms, eggplant, and toasted peppers all coming together in a classic Italian dish done right. Add in super friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere, and Fratello's becomes the kind of place you come back to--for the food, the drinks, and the vibe. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

The restaurant is gorgeous as you can see by the video of that fountain, you feel like you're transported to Italy. But the restaurant isn't just pretty, the food is absolute phenomenal too. Every dish I tried was excellent from the focaccia (one of the best breads I've ever had in my life, to the meatballs and right down got my entree everything was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The truffle gnocchi was one of the best Italian dishes I've ever had in my life and the chicken cutlet I ordered on top was also one of the best chicken cutlets I've ever had in my life (don't tell my mom or my wife). Our waitress was super attentive and kind as well so the service doesn't miss either. This might be my new favorite restaurant by the shore, definitely come check it out.

The first time we visited, our table was directly next to the bathroom, which wasn't ideal, but the food and drinks were so good that it made up for it. We decided to come back again last night, and once again, the food was wonderful. The veal parmesan was amazing. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. We arrived at 7:25 for a 7:30 reservation but weren't seated until around 7:50. We then didn't receive our drinks until about 8:20, and our food didn't come out until around 9:00. Giving four stars because the food truly is amazing and has been consistently great every time we've visited. We just wish the service and overall experience matched the quality of the food, especially when dining with a reservation.

Both are great options. For an entree, I usually order the Chicken Parm or Seafood Pescatore Linguine. Most recently, I tried the Spicy Garlicky Salmon, which came highly recommended by other Yelpers. It was the perfect amount of garlic flavor and came with a side of creamy mashed potatoes. Everything I have tried at Lubrano's has been amazing and the portions are huge. I usually bring home leftovers and can make another meal out of it! It's BYOB which is a great plus. We chose to sit in the enclosed veranda at the front of the restaurant; Amelia's is located on Ocean Ave. and has some beautiful views! We started with a few cocktails - my partner got the Lavender Martini, which she said was very good. I got the Pineapple Margarita, which was excellent! I saw meatballs on the menu - I always order meatballs when having Italian cuisine (Amelia's represents itself as '...a blend of old school Italian and contemporary continental cuisine..'. They were some of the best meatballs I've ever had. Amelia's blends pork, veal and beef for its meatballs - they're tender and seasoned perfectly! The marinara was excellent and there was a dollop of ricotta to stir into the sauce. It was an epic appetizer! For our entrees, I ordered Wild Caught Shrimp Oreganata with mixed vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. The shrimp were butterflied and quickly grilled - they had a plump, tender interior with a grilled exterior, in a delicious sauce. The potatoes were very good, and while I'm not a big fan of the mixed vegetables, they were good. My partner ordered one of the specials - the Lobster Capelinni. - 6 oz. of lobster on top of angel hair pasta with a delicious tomato-brandy sauce! We couldn't believe how much lobster was on the pasta - it was tender and very tasty! After 2 excellent entrees, we decided to try the desserts. Unfortunately, that was a mistake. I ordered the Carrot Cake (one of my favorite desserts) and my partner ordered the Chocolate Cake, one of her favorite desserts! My 'carrot cake' wasn't a cake but a conglomeration of icing and thick layers of 'fudge-like' cake. Visions of a fluffy, rich cake with freshly grated carrots and 'warm spices' flew out the window! My partners chocolate cake was dry and not moist at all - I've had Duncan Hines chocolate cakes that tasted better!! While the desserts were a big disappointment, the meal was excellent and we will return to Amelia's on our next visit to Spring Lake.

This was a nice light meal and enough that I only ate half of last night. My wife had the Cannelloni / Manicotti which was another baked dish with very similar ingredients. This had a bit less pasta but a combination that was really great. This was served in a plate almost the size of a small boat and there was no way she was finishing it. We went in on a Friday night and being the July 4th weekend we immediately were at a table. They quickly served bread with an EVO oil and spices that were really good.
