I was trying to get a strip of poster board 1 inch tall and 17 inches wide, laminated, to change the phone number and name on a sign. My plan was to stick the laiminated correction onto the sign. I first approached Staples in PB, but was told to call after 2 pm when Staples supervisor came in to work to get a quote how much this littie strip would cost me. She said the strip cost $2.00 but I had to use THEIR POSTERBOARD, not my finished product, so they know your job will be compatible with the lamination machine. Well supervisor told me the posterboard cost $12.00 so she quoted my little 1 inch strip by 17 inches long, to cost $14 plus tax! I think I got something laminated over 10 years ago, and I brought my own materials in. I called FedEx, which is closer to my house anyways. Their charge is just $4.95 for the 18 inch x 10 inch lamination sheet sleeve. The $4.95 includes the lamination, so I ws out $4.95 plus 28 cents for tax. The employee did it for me, too. So 5 Yelp stars for Fed Ex and 1 star for Staples. read more

Paid for express delivery but the package sat in the office for 4 days. Final delivery was almost 2 days late and even tho they claim to guarantee delivery when I tried to open a claim they said that practice was suspended during the holiday. That wasn't disclosed when I paid for the service. They said they guaranteed delivery. Totally got the run around with NO resolution when calling customer support. Their attitude is "too bad". The service here can be hit or miss. The wait for shipping can get long quickly with just a few people in line. But if you need to get something pretty standard done they offer reliable service. I've witnessed many customers have bad experiences here. Usually it's a result of not having the right understanding of process, pricing, and timing. Went in the Monday before Christmas to have them print some Christmas cards I made with my doggo on it, but the cards were too big for the regular sized envelope, so I was gna make it as a Christmas postcard, but the guy who was helping me was super nice, He found a few large envelope that fit and gave them to me for free of charge!! The lady who answered the phone was super nice in person as well. This place is the go to place for printing and copying. I was stressing out, because I was trying to finish a project in the next 4 days before a ceremony for a friend that died. I was printing up things to put in a shadowbox / frame, and went there to print things up. An Assistant Manager named Nala was sooooo helpful, and it eleviated the stress I was feeling. She went above and beyond in helping me, even measuring something to cut for me, since I was afraid I'd mess it up using the big cutting machine out front. I needed to print more than $80 worth of printing so i couldnt do it on self serve "for my safety". So they charged me extra $50 to do it behind the counter. Nice people. Dumb policy. So because their machine wouldn't take my money I had to wait in line, pay the $50 to get them to send it electronically to the VERY SAME plotter, plus I had to come back later. Every time I go here it seems like there is some issue. The parking lot is also always terrible. And they close at 8. Theres a good blueprint shop in La Jolla. Next time i go there. Email and pick up. I shoulda done that. Lesson learned. Follow up: Try Copy Cove in La Jolla for better prices, service, and turnaround. Im just a customer and not affiliated with either. read more

They would not release my package to me until I showed them my BANK STATEMENTS!! This is the most insane policy and I can't believe it to be an actual policy to need to show them financial documents if they don't believe you are actually YOU! I have a driver's license with my old address. I have a digital DMV documents that saysI changed it to the new one, the receipt for the package and able to show that I can login to my FedEx account and edit the delivery details. He would NOT give me the package until I LOGGED INTO THE BANK in front of him. He even took my phone and handled it. I changed my password immediately because this seems like a scam where a camera must be nearby or maybe he airdropped info to himself. I can't imagine why they would want to see your bank account and handle your phone as the ONLY WAY to prove your identity. read more

Some of their staff seem ok but they are SUCH a rip-off. I was looking to ship something to Australia (I know, it should not be cheap) but she tried to convince me that it would cost nearly $750. Not joking. Then when I pointed out that this was ludicrous, she indicated she could have a manager come over and explain that same concept again. Are you high? WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE, EVERY TIME. EVERY TIME. Every time I need to go to Fed Ex ("need" meaning I "have to" per the return code of the store, not voluntarily), my heart drops, knowinggg I will get yet another bad experience. AND it doesn't fail!!! In addition to long lines and slow, poor service, the workers are rude and have attitude. Not all seeming to want to help and be kind. and the manager, LEWIS!!! WORST ATTITUDE. Today I saw another customer asking for soap for the restrooms. He says "we are out" in a very unsympathetic way. She had 4 kids with her, one in a wheelchair. He says they've been out for 2 weeks". TWO WEEKS?!! and you say that, as a manager, with a sly smile on your face?!!!! and when we ask him why he can't get some from CVS right next door, he says he wont pay out of his pocket cause he won't get reimbursed from the store. This is a lie. 1. As a 'manager', you should not let your store BE without soap for TWO WEEKS! 2. But they're supposed to be open 8 to 8 as their "hours" sign and Google says, but yet at 7:00pm on a Monday... they're closed. I'm standing in front of the door and it has a "store closed" sign up. I use this location at least once a week! It is open 24/7. I use their massive color and black and white printers. Print from my USB drive or make copies. I have also used their scanners and shipping services. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I have shipping items there many times at all hours of the day and night. I found my mom the BEST mother days card too! They have a section for computers to use, and a variety of printing papers and posters and stationary.
