Just scan it on the left at the self-ship station, and then stack it at the back with all the packages. The parking lot is a bit of a challenge, small for the amount of businesses, but not as bad as it used to be since Rubio's closed. The parking lot can only be accessed from specific directions, so plan your route in maps if you're unfamiliar with the area. read more

I am writing this as a warning to anyone dropping off valuable returns here. I dropped off three packages at the same time: two contained high-value electronics (an iPhone and a Bluetooth speaker) and one was a cheap, low-value return. Strangely, the cheap item was scanned and processed perfectly, but the two expensive items--worth over $1,000--were never scanned into the system and have completely disappeared. When I went called in to resolve this, the experience was incredibly shady: The "Broken" Camera Excuse: I gave them the exact date and time I was there. The supervisor told me their CCTV "doesn't work." It is highly suspicious for a shipping business to have non-functional security cameras when high-value mail goes missing. Blaming the Customer: The supervisor claimed their clerks always tell people to get a receipt. I've done many returns here and have never been told that. They are using the lack of a receipt to avoid any accountability for items that clearly never left their store. Zero Accountability: They refuse to help or file a claim, even though it's clear the items were selectively "lost" while the cheap package went through fine. This place is dishonest and unprofessional. If you have to use them, demand a receipt and watch them scan every single box, or better yet, go to a different location that actually cares about security and honesty. read more

This UPS store is the closest one to my work in Kearny Mesa on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard and it's so convenient. It's a small one, but the staff here are so professional and pleasant. Nothing but positive experiences at this UPS store for package drop-offs. The employees have been courteous in demeanor and prompt in delivering services. On my most recent visit to drop off a package, I was in-and-out within a minute. The friendly employee simply took my package and asked if I'd like a receipt. Done. All employees wore face masks and parking was easy (in the same plaza as 7-11, Firehouse Subs, and Rubio's). I took a label and small box in for UPS shipment figuring they are a "UPS Store" they would have the free UPS bags to return ship something in, NOPE! They proceeded to charge me .61 cents for a small white plastic mailing pouch to return a product. Its not about the .61 cents but the fact they are a Registered UPS Store, its the store name, and they can't supply a customer with a return shipping bag? In my opinion that is Weak, Short Sided and Not Good for customers. Conclusion: If there is another UPS place or mailing store near you go there! read more

I noticed right away the ladies were super friendly and kept the line moving efficiently addressing each customer's request. They both seem to love their job which is rare to witness these days. When it was my turn, the staff took the lead to take care of my fax and told me to wait for the confirmation...as I waited, I reviewed my information and luckily caught an error. I explained what happened to the staff assisting me. She said with a smile, "No worries, I'll re-fax the corrected version". Most unhelpful ups store ever!!! I'm bringing an oversize box, can't hold the door it falls off and neither of the attendant even attempts to help, if it wasn't for another customer I would have fallen. Then I asked them for tape which they said it was for sale, yet they were happy to tape another customers box, I give them the box and he wants me to move it and put it against the printer as if I had not moved it all over the store yet, I told him why can't I just leave it there and he moves it as they usually do, he insisted and I had to say I'm not moving it anymore. Mind you it was a young guy who could have offered to help, yet they are so lazy and unhelpful. This has never happened at any other ups store to me, horrible location!! They could have at the very least helped with the door. Unbelievable... move it over there!! How about I just gave it to you and YOU do your job which is after you receive it, you move and organize your stuff. No he wanted me to move it so that it was right there for the driver. They aren't friendly, barely look at you, and proceed to just talk in another language with their coworkers instead of addressing the customer. We typically use the UPS Store location in Chula Vista since we're closer to that location, but have used this location in Kearny Mesa several times in the past so I can say I've been helped by the staff here enough to give a pretty good review on the consistency of their customer service. I've never had an issue dropping off packages (both pre-paid packages from Amazon, or parcel which I pay for), and if I've needed additional services, the staff has always been very friendly, helpful, and a pleasure to meet and be served by. I have encountered parking issues when visiting, and the limited parking available in this mini strip mall has made it all but impossible to park. But that cannot be blamed on The UPS Store. As long as you avoid the busy periods (before work, and lunchtime peak times), you should be fine. If I had shipping parcel needs and was in the Kearny Mesa area, I wouldn't hesitate to bring my business to this UPS Store location at all. They've always given me A+++ (or 5 Star) service! I have nothing but high praise for the employees who work here, the owner/management of this store should be very pleased. read more

My dropped off an emergency package at this location and specifically asked when it would arrive in Atlanta, which is where I was. The employee told my mom that my package was "guaranteed to arrive by 8:00 am the following day." She asked if this was a guarantee and they assured her it was. This was important bc this package was my laptop and if it wasn't going to arrive by 8:00, I needed to buy a new one for a big meeting. So, the next morning, of course, the package doesn't arrive. I'm checking the tracking and it keeps saying "on time." There are no updates. I call the main UPS number and the first person can't tell me anything except that is says it's expected to arrive on time. I explained to her that's impossible as it was already past 8:00 and she says, "I see." I ask if she can call the driver. No, she cannot. I demand to speak to a manager. The manager tells me the package must be delayed bc it actually hasn't even arrived at the ATL headquarters and all packages must go there first. WTF. It finally arrived at 10:30 amZ I asked for a refund, but was told I had to contact the shipper (the local UPS Store). We got the refund, but later found out that the UPS Store didn't actually ship the package until 6:00 pm that evening. My mom has dropped it off at 9:00 am that morning. That means it waited there for 8 hours for no conceivable reason!!! When we asked them why it was there until 6, they said that's just what time their pick-up is.
