FedEx is my least favorite of the big shippers. USPS has its issues, I held a grudge against UPS for a long time after working with them (not for them, sort of alongside them at the airport,) but both are light-years better than FedEx. I'll never ship with them, and given the choice I avoid receiving packages from them. But sometimes there is no choice. They have damaged packages. They've lost packages. They've lied about damage, loss, where packages are, etc. I've had to escalate to corporate, and they don't seem to have any actual contact with the local managers. It's a ridiculous way to run a business. This time Sweetie was waiting on an important package. The scheduled delivery time was longer than it should have taken, but, oh well. Then, she stayed at home all that day because she needed to sign for it. The front door was open because we had contractors in and out. I got home to find a "we couldn't deliver, no one home" sticker on the door. 1) She was home. 2) The door was open, people were around- they said they actually told the driver we were home, and yet the driver still failed to deliver it. 3) She signed up for text notifications; nothing, till after she eventually went and picked it up from a nearby center. 4) She wasn't given the option of just picking it up there in the first place, which would have saved time and aggravation. Hi, On November 1st of this year, I sent out a package from California to be delivered to Russia thru FedEx. Before sending my product, which weighs only 1 pound, I went over all the restrictions with FedEx employees for my package. I was assured that my package met the criteria for international shipment to Russia. After waiting a couple weeks, I found out (without notification) my package had arrived back at my residence in California. I had called FedEx 8 times trying to get clarification on why my product didn't pass through customs. On the 8th call, I found out that FedEX actually doesn't ship non-corporate products to Russia in the first place. After pointing out that FedEX had given false advertisement and lied to me about international shipment, I demanded to get my money back. They refused to give me a refund for the $130 I spent on shipment costs. They claimed since I sent it on November 1st that they were not liable for any monetary reimbursement or any liability. They refused to take accountability for their negligence in properly informing its customers of such restrictions and refused to make good on returning my money back. Their service guide online also neglected to provide this correct international shipment information on their website. Not only did my package not get sent, but my package was also damaged. One of the corners is ripped open with the inside contents damaged. It bewilders me how FedEx thinks it can get away from treating their customers so poorly. I recommend nobody to go through the stress that I had to go through just to find out I was being ripped off. Potential customers beware. Find another carrier. read more

I have ordered two large metal wall clocks recently and both have been damaged by FedEx delivery. The first one was destroyed, bent beyond use due to heavy packages being stacked on a cardboard box marked "fragile." The second one was also damaged, with at least one hole ripped in the box and the clock bent. What really surprised me is that the clock boxes were clearly marked "fragile" and "this side up." FedEx obviously doesn't care, because they were delivered upside down and mangled. I took photos of the two deliveries, just to make sure I wasn't charged for both clocks, and I've attached those pictures below. I tried to notify my local FedEx office, to let them know in a friendly way that at least one of their local delivery drivers doesn't care about their job or have any work ethic. Sorry to say, FedEx has made it almost impossible to contact their company. No email addresses available. No local office phone numbers available. All you can do is call their national 1-800 hotline and get put on hold for an eternity. Since FedEx doesn't care to hear my opinion, I'm posting this review (for their corporate office) and also contacting the manufacturer of the clocks - to tell them that they should use a different shipper for their merchandise. Yes, I know that COVID-19 has made everyone's jobs more difficult. How long are we going to use that excuse, though? You're telling me that COVID made you ignore the "this side up" and "fragile" stickers on the box you delivered to me? I've opened a case and left feedback. And to be honest, I don't expect anything to come of any of it. But I'm not going to just go quietly either. Every email address, social platform & phone number I can find is going to hear my story because no one is willing to tell me who I can talk to about my experience. I've spent the last 3 days being flat out lied to by the Customer Service department. Now, I'm going on my trip without my package AFTER being treated so disrespectfully by the phone reps. On 12/21/2021, I shipped a package at a local fed ex office in Austin, TX. This was a Tuesday. I paid for 2 day shipping and was promised the package would arrive by Friday 12/24, Christmas Eve. I paid $598.14 just for delivery and another $17.43 for the box. With tax and everything included it came to $617.06. I still have the receipt. They attempted to deliver around noon to my mother's home on 12/24/2021. There was a door tag left saying there would be a second attempt later that same day. My mom stayed at home and waited for 8 hours on Christmas Eve for the second attempt. When she finally realized the package wouldn't be delivered the second attempt, she called the local FedEx store. The employee she spoke to there said the delivery driver went home EARLY and the second attempt wouldn't be made. At that time, she didn't have enough time before the store closed to go pick the package up since the store would be closing soon. The package wasn't delivered until after Christmas. So because of FedEx's negligence, her Christmas Eve was completely ruined from waiting around all day and our long distance Christmas was also ruined because the presents that I spent hundreds of dollars on wouldn't arrive until days after Christmas. I've filed a refund request and was denied right away with an unclear and very inaccurate reason why I was denied. They didn't state that the "money back guarantee" was suspended at all at that time. I have made numerous phone calls and was told I can't even file a complaint, so basically they just don't care about their customers. I have sent multiple emails, spent probably hours and hours on the phone with numerous customer service agents to no avail. I have and will continue to leave bad reviews on every platform possible. I have made numerous attempts to contact FedEx to fix this issue and no one has helped or even cares. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I paid ALOT of money for that package to arrive on Christmas Eve and it was not delivered then. They are taking advantage of people by jacking up their prices for the holidays and not being able to deliver on their promises. FedEx only even got one star because I cannot ZERO. There was a time when FedEx was the premier overnight service and set the standard for other companies but no longer. 2 incidents in less than two months prompted me hear to post my negative feelings toward this company. The first was when I sent payment for a property deal that was supposed to arrive next day by 4pm.... 2 days later... Could've jeopardized my deal were it not for understanding people on the other end. FedEx did nothing. Tonight I have spent almost five hours and at least (I lost count) 10 or 11 agents (a few which hung up on me) simply trying to get to a supervisor. After waiting for a package which requires direct signature since 12/2 I was needing to talk to supervisor when the status changed from 12/2, to 12/3, to 12/4 955am - 3pm, to 12/4 end of day, to pending. My first call the agent said he would escalate to locate the package, contact the driver, and get it to me by tonight. When I hadn't heard back after 2hrs I called back, explained my conversation with the first agent and asked for status to which the reply was probably by Monday. Probably by Monday???!!! What? So I asked to speak to a supervisor to which I was told they were not available until January!!!! WTF??!!! Went on to explain it was because it was peak season. I'm sorry that is the reason supervisors should be extra available. I asked if he was refusing to transfer me to a supervisor to which I was hung up on. The third agent Natalie hung on with me back and forth, repeating her script to which I kept replying I needed to speak to a supervisor, for forty minutes! No one else lasted half that long after that and some continued to hang up on me after all of them read from the same script spouting BS about procedures. I'm sorry procedures are not law and I would think a very very very frustrated customer would be a classic exception to their procedures but apparently not. One agent even told me they would be fired if they transferred me to a supervisor. WHAT???!!! Seriously, what kind of company has FedEx become? Certainly not one that I will ever use again. EVER!!! I will even go so far as to say I will not even order from a company that will ship to me via FedEx. UPS on the other had has never lied to me and has never denied me to speak to a supervisor when there has been an issue (I think I've had one that a supervisor was able to quickly resolve). I paid $25 for overnight delivery of a package from Costa Mesa, CA, signature required. At my inconvenience, I stayed home all day on Friday, February 4, to sign for the package. In the mid-afternoon, I received a Fedex text message update saying that a delivery had been attempted at 1:31 PM. That is a lie. At that exact time, my wife and I were crating one of our two cats in the front room looking out on the street. No Fedex truck ever appeared. We have ADT video footage that shows no one came to our door all day on that Friday. Later, I received a text message advising me that I could pick up my package at the Fedex facility located at 10601 Murdock Dr, Knoxville, TN 37932, USA, after 6 PM. They did not deliver my package as agreed, and then they lied about it. Conveniently, Fedex is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau, so there's no possibility of dispute resolution. I call their 800 number and connected with someone in El Salvador. They promised to "escalate." Fedex's service is apparently so bad they've had to make themselves inaccessible. Fedex is unreliable, to say the least. They misplaced a package at a neighbors earlier in 2021, but a nice neighbor returned it to us. The last one they said was delivered on October 23. When I received noticed it was 'on my front porch' I immediately contacted customer service. My customer service rep the first time has poor reception. The call was lost. When I returned the call the next day I was rudely told not to call, they had my number and would call me back in 7-10 business days after they tracked my package. 17 days later it was denied. I have reached such a point of disgust with FedEx that I have decided to grade them and write. At one time their service was exemplary. That is no longer the case. I have 3 pkgs from different shippers Not delivered as promised within the last week. All were given a date range. All arrived at the local distribution facility to arrive on time. One was confirmed to arrive on 8/14, then 8/17. The 2nd was confirmed for 8/17 and I paid add'l for this delivery service. The 3rd was confirmed for 8/17, then 8/19, then 8/21 and is animal food on dry ice. The ice is usually gone when it arrives! The 1st two were for a once a year National Event. None arrived by those dates. I called, spoke with management. Raul confirmed that the pkgs were there, that they would call at 8am the next morning and deliver them to my office address! I was pleased. No call. I spoke with Mgr Maria. No, they won't call, won't deliver and it's up to the shipper. I stated this isn't the shipper's issue. They are late. Unfortunately, there was not a "zero" stars category. This is the absolute worst shipping service in the world. 1. Item was to be shipped to me-estimate 3 days by shipper. Never got any notification of day to be delivered. Came home found tag on front door. Could not read handwriting at all-completely illegible. Called customer(non) service. Person could barely speak English. Finally told me after 23 phone calls trying to find out where my item was, that it had been sent to a drop off location in another town 15 miles away because a signature was required. After 10 more phone calls trying to reach a manager, I finally got a call from a supervisor around 7pm. He told me a courier would be retrieving the package from the drop-off location an delivering it in an hour. Around 8 pm the package was finally delivered and the delivery person said no signature was ever required. It could have been left or the option given to have it delivered the following day. Wasted an entire day of my time. 2. Ordered item from Ebay on 2-26-2022- Got email saying had been shipped and estimated delivery would be March 4th -Checked tracking number provided and to my horror found it was being shipped Fedex ! Always a pleasure here. I've used this location several times - about 2-3x a year for the last three years when I have a meeting in town. Staff has ALWAYS been pleasant and professional and there has never been any issues with my presentations. Sometimes I'll get to a meeting and a page is out of order or its double-sided versus single-sided. Everything has always been exactly as presented and requested. It is conveniently located in the Peabody with an outside as well as lobby entrance. It's not a 24 hour location but they actually stayed late once to finish some of my copies. On 11/18/21 the Fedex driver pulls up in a UHAUL van and we went to the door waiting for her to come to the door, she never got out of the van and drove off and marked the package as delivered. I have literally never in my life overheard a conversation between a man who called ME from 1-800-Go-Fedex Corporate office, and the Memphis Hub. And what I heard was atrocious and completely unacceptable. The Corporate guy called me initially responding to a complaint I filed about service. But then he asked me to stay on the line while he called the Memphis Hub because he was allegedly concerned that if it was happening to me, that it could be happening to others (My package had been lost after a month of tracking and there were many days at a time without updates. So when I called a few times there was conflicting information about whether the package had cleared customs or not, and whether it was lost or found). So when he patched over to the Memphis Hub, I thought it was a three way call, but apparently they couldn't hear me commenting and they apparently didn't know I was listening! The Corporate guy clearly identified that he was calling from Corporate to the Memphis Hub. He told the Memphis Hub guy that I had bought "you know, those leggings that make the ass look good," and I tried to interject what I had actually ordered. And I was taking aback by his words. He didn't know what I had ordered. I hadn't told him. And if he did have my phone number to call me then presumably he had the record, at no point had I ordered leggings. And the Memphis guy said something very SUSPICIOUS, that the package had allegedly been pulled to the side and "flagged" as "fake merchandise." But hold on, I hadn't told this Corporate guy that I had previously asked for a full trace not only through the merchant, but through Fedex, and a case manager for the trace had called me a month ago to say that the package had been located and that I should receive it in a couple of days. She said NOTHING about it being "flagged" as so-called "fake merchandise." So it sounded like a LIE. And it sounded like the corporate guy had no idea, he didn't ask me for a tracking number. And so now, I'm listening to their conversation about me and they start accusing me of buying fake merchandise, and the Corporate guy wondered aloud how I could have possibly managed to get a refund from the merchant, and who authorized THAT he said. I was trying to interject that the merchant refunded me because the package had not arrived and that I had ordered from the merchant website, and what was their point exactly, and that I had not mentioned fake merchandise. I knew for sure that they didn't intend for me to listen to their conversation because I heard the words, "let me handle this BITCH," and then the Memphis hub guy greets me with a happy "Hello!" And I asked, "What was that conversation about?" And his response was, "WHOAAAAA! WHOA, SLOW DOWN LITTLE LADY!" And he claimed that he just got on the phone. So I answered, "I heard you. This conversation is done." And I had to work for a couple of hours before reporting it to Fedex Customer Service. The person who answered sounded concerned and said that the call was recorded (I had asked) and I asked if there was a way to find out of a call came to my number from Corporate at a specific day/time and also a call from Corporate to the Memphis hub at a specific day/time. She said someone from Management would follow up, I gave her the tracking number that started this whole mess. So far I missed a call from LESLIE from the the Complaints Support Team, she left a message asking what time this happened and if I had any names. I ALREADY gave Customer Support the precise times of day but unfortunately I don't have any names, neither one of these men identified themselves. The guy who initially called me merely said it was Fedex Corporate. I took a screen shot of the call and the number was 1-800-GO-FEDEX. I doubt this was some elaborate hoax since nobody once asked for personal information like a credit card. I sure hope they get to the bottom of this but I wanted them to know that this happened to me. And like the initial guy from Corporate said, if that abusive treatment happened towards me, then abusive treatment could be happening towards other customers. That would include sexual comments, a baseless accusation, an assertion that wasn't told to me by the case worker when I asked for a full trace, and overall a PUTRID treatment which was not customer care. It was evident to me that the man who called me from Corporate and the man he called at the Memphis Hub had no idea I was listening. But are you listening to me now, Fedex? I'd like to think that the Customer service people and case managers who called were nice people but after that earful, I have to wonder if you're all like this. read more

fred smith- fedex ceo: fred smith- fedex ceo: my fiancé had his usa passport and russian visa sent to the fedex in peoria arizona on 83rd ave and bell. i just moved to moscow russia to teach english reading to elementary school children. at this present moment in time i am pregnant and alone in a communist country. it is summer in the school system so all of the other teachers are on vacation, so i literally know four people in the entire country of russia that speak some english. in order for my fiancé to be granted entry into the country of russia he had to get a government issued visa from the country of russia, which is what is in the package, along with his usa passport. his usa passport and russian visa were supposed to be delivered by noon at the latest on saturday 7-20-19. it has still not arrived!!! in arizona right now it is morning on sunday and his flight to moscow russia is at 10 am. this is the second flight that he was told by a fedex supervisor in arizona to go ahead and book because the previous flight was missed due to fedex failure to meet their obligation to deliver the package to the place and at the time that they said they would that and he had paid additional money for. where is his package?!!?!?!?! fiancé was told that his package would be there in time. it has still not arrived. so we had to book yet another flight, which we had to pay out of pocket, and his package is still not here! i need answers now!!! we are out thousands of dollars because his usa passport and russian visa (which cost a substantial money due to decisions made based upon the shipment terms john agreed to with fedex formally) are lost somewhere in one of your shipping containers supposedly, plus the cost of shipping the package, plus his plane tickets that have cost us approx. $1,000 a ticket. because of your company we are easily out $3,000! not to mention that i do not get paid for another 2 weeks and because of these payments i literally have no money in russia. my fiance has had to sleep in my moms car because he gave up his place to stay due to having a plane ticket booked for the second time. we now need to book another ticket!! a third ticket!! that is another $1000 easily. the airlines have told us point blank that this fault does not fall on them and that it is our responsibility to once again pay out of pocket for another ticket. they are beginning to treat us and look at us like we are in some looney tunes circus--riding russian grizzly bears. my fiancé is a former drug addict who went through teen challenge and now is a registered youth pastor who has overcome his demons and has spent his entire savings on moving to be with me and our future child in moscow russia. his personal career goal is to start a youth ministry program here in moscow for teens and children to understand grace, love, and mercy that will eventually be spread to other countries across europe and asia (russia technically is in both continents). as a result of his previous drug addiction my fiancé suffers with a heart condition where his heart does not beat at a regular or normal pace. he is 29 years old and has already had a heart attack. his doctors have specifically told him that too much stress could cause him to have another heart attack---which is exactly what this situation has the potential to do. when i was finally able to speak to him (10 hour time difference) and he provided me with all of this information regarding his package he informed me in tears that his chest was hurting so bad that he feels like he might be having another heart attack, even if it is possibly a miniature one. with the thousands we have spent on tickets, his passport, his visa into russia, we have spent additional money to get his service dog certified internationally (an extra $1,000) but due to all of the changes in flights we are now uncertain as to whether that dog will be able to board. each time you book a flight with a service animal you have to fill out and fax paperwork to the airline(s) and it had to be within 24 hours of the flight or else they can deny animal passage. because we keep having to change his flights my fiancé technically does not have time to keep reapplying for the dog's passage. this is a huge problem!! the dog is a medical alert service animal that has been trained to alert my fiancé and surrounding people if his rate rate becomes too high/low/ or dangerously irregular--- i am sure you can understand that not having such an animal in an international airport and in a foreign country is extremely dangerous for my fiancé . read more

My last shipping experience with Fedex left me feeling helpless and utterly disappointed. It was imperative to get a deposit check to our realtor to secure our offer on a house and I chose Fedex since they have been reliable in the past. I paid for overnight priority shipping to get this to our realtor on time. Our priority overnight envelope picked up in Baltimore went to Memphis then to Philadelphia. I am not sure if Fedex may need a lesson in geography first but this is the route it took. The Fedex envelope arrived 2 days after the scheduled delivery date! While nervously waiting for the envelope to be delivered, I contacted Fedex customer service several times about 8 to be exact. Every single rep seemed to have one mission....promise everything and get off phone quickly. Most of us know this as LYING! I was told my package would arrive in an hour, my issue was escalated to a expedited critical status, package would arrive by noon, a transit manager would call me within the hour, and I would be refunded my payment for the package since it was delayed. A manager did finally call 2 days later and after the package arrived. By this time I went to the Post Office and paid for next day delivery which made it....drumroll...NEXT DAY! The Fedex manager provided no assistance except to say my package was delivered. Yes thank you captain obvious, I already received that notification 5 hrs earlier when I tracked the package. Then the other service the manager provided was to say everything the customer service reps said was untrue and that there was no time limit for a manager to call and the best there is NO FEDEX MONEY BACK GUARANTEE! I had a refrigerated medicine that was making its way from Boston to Anaheim, CA that went through this location. It was an overnight next day delivery because it was for my IVF cycle egg retrieval that is scheduled for the coming Wednesday and I needed it ASAP so I didn't miss a dose. Two days and two missed doses later I call to see why it was now in pending status since in was now in Los Angeles...well its because they are closed Sundays. Why would you send a refrigerated medication thats an ASAP delivery to a location that is closed the day it gets there???? Apparently this location had a mechanical issue and thats why it was delayed. That I understand, but not sending it somewhere that will be closed. aside from taking the day off work to sign for the delivery today, my super costly IVF cycle that I've actively been in since the beginning of the month has been canceled because of the missed doses and inability to continue the medication for the remaining 2 days. All that money gone!! The disregard to details here is just enraging. Customer service was apologetic, though appreciated it doesn't get me back my money and time spent on this cycle or the pain and mood swings caused by the injections. read more
