I did not understand quite how anal retentive staff could be. Don't worry. This place cleared it up for me. On my way to a flight and needed some help to pack a box in a bigger box with some padding. They weren't allowed to help after reading the outside of the box as it was an advent beer box and they aren't allowed to pack alcohol. Please note I just wanted help packing it, I am not shipping it. Good news is that the people in Auburn are allowed to do, just an hour away. They happily sold me the essentials for me to attempt to pack it myself - they just couldn't help - which is of course why I came here in the first place. I'll try UPS next time read more

I was charged $6.00 for a box I did not ask for. Let me explain I wanted to ship 2 items: A document and a small box, which I brought (6"x3"x2"). After leaving, I looked at my receipt and saw a $6 charge on the receipt I did not recognize. I returned to inquire and was told the 2 items would have cost more to ship separately and my brown grocery bag protection around my box would fall off. So he took it upon himself to buy me 12"x9"x6" box for $6. This changed my .75 lb package ($18) to $24. $24 for a 5 day ground shipment! Employee's should explain the options before assuming solutions. I had my own tape and would have rather saved $6 by covering the small package with tape. I was in this branch (3/13/12 4:30 PM) to print some large format documents. I have done this in the past but I wanted to get some direction before I started. The women behind the counter assured me that she "just needed to get her driver on the way" OK fair enough. I was thinking this would take a minute or two, but I discovered that this involved processing a large number of boxes and a nice chat for the two of them about his new dogs (he just got 3). Then she realized she had a bunch of papers to go through. It seemed like maybe it was her first day but if so she needs some direction about how to prioritize customer service along with helping her co-worker get on his way. I was starting to feel like a sap for not asking her directly to stop long enough to show me the machine but I decided to just find another Kinko's. I said I was leaving and she let fly a fake cheerful "have a nice day". I understand that this is not uplifting work but try to make us feel like we are welcome and not an inconvenience. read more

My experience here was just fine. I swung by about 10 minutes before close on a Sunday, so no other customers were inside. The lady at the counter was very friendly and explained everything to me with patience. I'm giving this location 4 stars because of her. This super tiny Kinkos is a hard place to go to and wait around to be able to drop off a FedEx. They are part convenience store with candy bars and gum, print shop with like three printers, and FedEx fanboy shop with 101 packing supplies. All staffed by one busy yet slack dude. Perhaps other people show up at some point, but in the afternoon there was only one guy, so I stood around looking at the walls for 10 minutes while he explained what paper you can print on and what you can't. Or something. Who cares. I had a 30 second transaction and no one was making it happen and it's all about MY NEEDS. It got done eventually and the people were nice enough in their own slack way. I can't blame them really. They do work at Kinkos. read more

This is my favorite FedEx location, hands down. They are ALWAYS helpful, polite and nice. Dylan always helps me out (even when other locations can't) as I have lots of shipping needs for the company that I work for. I have never had a bad experience here. The only downside is parking is hard, but it's worth it over other locations with parking. read more

If you ever need to print something 3 feet wide by infinity feet long, this is your place! They have an awesome printer than does giant rolls of paper. Otherwise, they do all the usual FedEx and Kinkos stuff too. The staff are pretty good - about what you'd expect at this type of establishment. One guy couldn't quite figure out how a flash drive works, but he was at least open to learning new things. The shop can get busy as they usually only have one person working. There is a UPS store around the corner on Fremont Ave, though, and I've never seen a crowd there. FedEx is slightly closer to my front door, though, so I usually end up there. read more

The people who work here are extremely rude and not customer service oriented whatsoever. I've been in a few times and encountered several people, none of which were nice or helpful. The first time I walked in, all the staff was leaning on the counters having a discussion and nobody stepped forward to help me. Then they all looked at each other and realized nobody was moving and one guy stepped forward ,sighed heavily and said "I guess I'm helping you then"...like? Is that not your guys' job? He was extremely condescending and then he determined my things weren't able to be shipped because they're flammable. That's fine, I get it...but instead of just informing me of their policies, he said "I won't be shipping this for you" very flatly. Today I went in to ship something and was ignored for a good few minutes while this guy sat around doing nothing. I was eventually helped by another woman who just seemed annoyed throughout the whole interaction, mind you im shipping one small box with no special requests. The overall vibe from these employees is like they don't care and they're lazy. I'll start choosing UPS to avoid these uncomfortable encounters. read more

I entrusted Ballard FedEx Office Print & Ship Center with a package worth $700. I was returning a purchase with a pre-paid label from the retailer. It either got lost or pretty obviously stolen by an inside person, because it never got scanned...or delivered. At the local UPS they scan all drop off packages and give a receipt. The FedEx gal behind the counter I handed it to had multi-colored streaks and gave me a strange look when I said it was an expensive package (my bad). I asked to get the security footage from the manager, he refused but said he would look into it... surprise... I am now out $700. I do not reccommend this store. read more

2 stars because they shouldn't hire people who provide such horrible customer service! and 1 star because I've been there before and always been helped by people who were so polite and friendly. While the store is probably fine the rating is warranted by the customer service I received from the woman behind the counter. I went in there the other day to mail a demand letter with attachments for work. The manila envelope of documents weighed around 1-2 pounds tops. I needed to ship it to Victoria, BC and it wasn't urgent so snails pace was fine. Well the woman behind the counter (who was clearly unhappy because she was glaring at everyone, but then again maybe her face just looks that way) When it was my turn she weighed the documents and told me it was going to cost $88.17 to mail it! I was like so shocked I almost did't know how to react! I was expecting maybe $14 tops to ship the documents, because I have shipped similar items there before... I asked her if that was the cheapest because it wasn't urgent and I just wanted it to be shipped regular. She looked at me and slowly said, careful to articulate every letter, "yes that is the cheapest, that's what you wanted". Maybe it was because it was international and not domestic but I didn't need to argue and I was strapped for time and was going to be reimbursed anyway so I say fine (plus since she was moving so slow there was a huge line behind me). When I gave her my card she said it was declined, i thought that was weird because I had just been to PCC earlier and it worked fine. But I handed her another card anyway...this was also declined. At this point i gave up and left. Just to check my account I went to the ATM and withdrew $100 using the card that she said was declined. I then went to the post office in Ballard to mail it ...it ended up costing me $9 and some cents..and my card worked fine. In the future I will still continue to use the FedEx because it is super convenient, but I hate to say that she tried to rip me off but that is really what it seemed like! read more

I live in the neighborhood and this store has usually been fine. I don't have a printer at home, so I come here to print things once in a while. I have also picked up packages here. I am giving a two-star review because I needed to get something printed today and was pleased to see that they opened at 7:30 am. I arrived promptly at 7:30, and the lights weren't even on. I waited another 15 minutes, and still, not a soul. I called the phone line to double check the hours, and the message said that they open at 7:30 am. If you aren't going to open on time, do not list your hours. This type of service is unacceptable, especially for a company that serves the business community. I ended up driving up to Northgate on my way to work, which was open (thankfully), and was in and out in minutes. read more

I needed a manual for some electronics, a coworker recommended I go here. I think it was 33 cents a minute when on line, slide my card, search a bit, download. I told the guy I was done, he grabbed a zip drive, put info on it, hooked it up to a printer and printed it out, both sides of the paper since he asked. It was great, friendly, professional, helpful, and I was out of there in less than ten minutes, I left very satisfied with the whole experience. read more

No. In general, the staff need to Pay Attention to who is in the store at any given time. They have a great report with repeat customers, lots of endearments and 'how's your family?' for everyone. If they could LOOK AROUND, see who's just walked in and see if they need help? They'd get another star from me. Also, somebody besides the manager needs to know how to work the machines. I printed an online label in Fedex for $72 putting the actual measures of my package. The clerk said it was OK. One week after, Fedex ended up charging $153 because they considered that the package was "oversized" (with the same measurements I entered online). In the biling department I talked with the supervisort which says that in the receipt says that "additional charges may apply"................... and that they are not allowed to change charges, that I would need to take it to my credit card company......................but would you purchase the service in the first place if you would know that the price would go up by more than 110%?????? What about you paying an airline ticket for $300 and then, after you fly the airline charging you $630??????? Don't trust in Fedex online services!!!!!!!!! because they do will not honor the prices they post in their own website!!!!!!! read more

Prices here are a 20% margin above what you'll spend if you compulsively search around for the best deals in town, but I have to commend the staff, all of them.
