Quite possibly the rudest service I've ever received. I went in to print two items for a party. They were completely stone faced and acted like I was the biggest imposition on their day. They had no other customers. The item printed with an incompatible font and they didn't offer to make it right. They could have shown me a sample but they would not even interact with me. Indifferent FedEx employee was troubled with a request for same day service for 16 card stock copies, with 4 hours remaining in his work day. We were visiting Seattle and needed them for an evening event. It wasn't clear that he could deliver in time, so we went to nearby Zebra Print & Copy instead, and got our 16 copies in less than 10 minutes. And the Zebra employee was engaged, polite, and clearly committed to excellent customer service. read more

I had to ship something overnight and I was in Downtown Seattle, so I was glad that this FedEx location was nearby. Mind you, I do not live in Seattle, so I was rushing to get this done before I flew back home. I had my documents set to ship and the person helping me made sure that I had the right packing materials to make sure that it would get there in one piece and not damaged by the rain. Right after he put on the shipping label, I get a phone call stating that I needed to add something to the documents. Ah! Fortunately, the guy helping me was very patient and opened the envelopes and reprinted the label for me so that I could add what I needed. He then put everything back together again to ship. Phew! I did confirm that my package made it there overnight to Tennessee a couple hours before the estimated time. Thanks to this FedEx location for making sure these docs made it on time! read more

I never thought I would care so much about a nail center that I would feel a need to write a review about it, but here I am. I dread coming to this particular FedEx. Why? Never have I ever CONSISTENTLY left any retail facility of any type feeling so inadequate as I do when I leave this Fedex. I regularly come to this store only because it is convenient for me, however EVERY time I am here, the employees are so condescending to me I am left in disbelief. And over mailing a simple envelope? For example, several weeks ago I attempted to mail a very small package. As I stood in front of the register, no other customers around, the woman walked up to the counter and just sort of stared at me until I told her I would like to mail my package. I attempted to explain what I wanted to mail and asked for pricing and she responded as if I was speaking a different language, somehow confused by my request to mail something.....at FedEx. She then "educated" me on the proper terminology. I would appreciate the education if this was an overly complicated process, but I'm mailing a simple package. The education was out of her general frustration and only serves the purpose of making a customer feel inferior and stupid. I brushed this off thinking maybe she just had a bad day, but yesterday I returned and was assisted by a man who did the same thing. I was on my break, trying to be quick and just grabbed my small package and credit card. When I got to Fedex, the man asked for my ID, which I did not have. I didn't realize an ID was required to mail something. When I said that to him he just stared at me, seemingly shocked I was so stupid that I did not have their rules memorized and said "well that's company policy!!!!!" So I just left. He didn't nicely say anything or apologize for making me have to turn away or anything. I really needed the package sent that day so when I came back with my ID an hour later, the next employee told me it would probably be cheaper to mail my small package from the post office 3 blocks away. In reading some of the other reviews, it looks like I am not the only one who thinks they are amazing - I was remote, trying to get signage and collateral done for a show in that area. Oh my gosh, I love these guys so much. Communication is key and they've got it down. I work in facilities and culture for a medical insurance company and my requests are usually a little off the wall, or more literally, *on* the wall. (bad joke, sorry) This team has never denied my requests or even acted like it would be extra effort. They call with questions, get all of the details and deliver quality products to my office. I come to this branch regularly to print in color for work, and lately I have had issues every time: self-serve printers have been completely nonfunctional the last two times, which means I have to ask the staff to print behind the counter. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful (yay!) and I understand that printing errors happen sometimes and it's not necessarily anyone's fault. More to the point, though, I find one of the supervisors defensive and brusque to the point of rudeness. I've been a service employee and know that working with the public is a rough gig. But when I feel unwelcome in a store, I am unlikely to come back. read more

Me: "But it says it costs $1.98 to print double sided color sheets (Points to banner on top of computer), so do you think someone might know how? Kinko's associate: "No I don't think anyone knows how to print double sided here." Me: (WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?! This is Kinko's, the most renowned print shop in America, Damn it! And I KNOW you can, because it was just TWO weeks ago that I was at the Kinko's by UW and someone helped me print double sided there. Not to mention the advertisements on top of the computer screen to print double sided) "well, I am being charged by the minute on this computer to print in publishers, and it says on the banner that I can print double sided, but I am not sure how. Do you think you or maybe someone else can help me figure it out? Kinko's associate: "Well I told you that I don't know how, and that it's not possible to print double sided. I'm just saying. Let me go see if someone else can help." * Two or three minutes pass...* Me: (At front counter) Excuse me, can someone help me print double-sided color sheets on to that printer? (Points the big colored one in the back) The same associate and 3 other sales associates look confused and blankly at me. I am told once again that double sided printing is not possible. And then they go back and stand by the laminating machine to continue talking about their weekend while ignoring me. Me: (trying not to make a huge scene) I NEED SOMEONE TO HELP ME PRINT DOUBLE SIDED COLORED SHEETS ON THIS COMPUTER TO THAT PRINTER! Please? Anyone? Maybe? Ok. After about twenty minutes of trying to figure out how to print double sided in publishers and make my pamphlet look half way decent, it was 6 print jobs later. Mind you I am being charged to be on the computer, and being charged for all these mess up print jobs because not one person of their staff apparently did not know how to. I am not one to get upset when treated horribly in customer service and normally just try to shake things off, but MY FUCKING GOD, I was so angry and appalled at their complete and utter lack of service. I've worked near this location for over 7 years now. They open around 7:00 a.m., which is really great for early risers. I primarily use this location for making photo reprints and purchasing office supplies. There is a drug store in the same building. However, I find there is a difference in photo quality. At times, when I actually remember to make photo reprints, I need to get them done right away before I forget again. The quality at this FedEx location is much better than the drug store. NOTE: It's also more expensive so you have to decide what is most important to you. Because the selection of office supplies and other seasonal goods is so small, that often means there will be a clearance sale at some point in the future. I have gotten small photo albums and even Hello Kitty branded goods at a discount because I happened to be there for something else. The customer service has been hit and miss over the last 7 years. However, I can say it is currently on the upswing. I find most of the current staff pleasant to work with and somewhat knowledgeable. Often, my choices for items are the FedEx and the drug store. I often make my choice based on who I think will have what I'm looking for and how much it will cost. If time is an issue, I can say that this store is often less busy than the drug store. read more

Admittedly, I waited until the last minute, and the Kinko's on 3rd Ave. really came through for me. It was Thursday night. I was heading out of town the next morning for a bachelorette weekend on Lopez Island and had promised to bring a game. A friend helped photoshop the groom's head onto David Beckham's body, and I needed to blow up the photo to poster size so we could play "Pin the Junk on the Hunk". After having terrible luck at the Tukwila Kinko's, I called up the one on 3rd Ave., hoping they could help me and save the game! I called at 10 pm that night, told them what I needed and was told they could have the project completed by 10 am the next morning. Whew! They gave me their email address, so I was able to just send them the files without even having to leave the comfort of my living room. The next morning, as promised, my beautiful creation was realized. I would have given them 5 stars, but the print was a little dark, and the smaller copies of the "junk" were a bit too large and were cut off in some spaces. It worked just fine for the game, but if it had been for a professional project, I probably would have been a bit irked. Oh - and the ladies LOVED the game! read more

I bring them print projects at least once a week, many different types of projects, and they never dissappoint me. They are also a stellar group of folks, very freindly and just a pleasure to work with. I am shocked that there are some very negative reviews here. I didn't use their services, so not sure if I qualify to write a review. But am I ever? Anyway, I came in looking for envelopes, which they didn't have. NOT because their stock sucks, but because the size of envelope I'm looking for doesn't exist in real life. Just in the world with unicorns. But the staff was friendly and helpful and tried to suggest somewhere my magical envelope may exist. This place is huge, unlike some other small outpost looking FedEx's. They look equipped to help you with whatever you need that deals with printing something or shipping something. I'm glad I checked this one out for future use. I've visited this office a couple times lately for small print jobs that required a little help from the staff. And the staff there, a young, tall, guy with glasses, he wins the most polite, pleasant, thoughtful, and helpful, yes, helpful, award of the week every time. A genuinely decent man who obviously has pride in doing a good job and making customers happy, and succeeds at it. Went in on Wednesday (September 11th) to get some laminating done for a work project. I called ahead of time to ask them a few general questions before heading over there. I dropped everything off that same day I called and had to answer some questions for the sales associate that was helping me. He wasn't really pleasant, but wasn't rude. I don't feel like getting into too much detail, but it just didn't seem like he wanted to help. In the end, I asked him what the total price would be after tax so that we can cut them a check. He told me the total and printed out a receipt that had a total BEFORE tax. The next day, our Accounting department wrote out a check and I went in today (Friday, September 13th) to pick up and pay for the lamination work we had done. The man helping me was pleasant and helpful. He then told me that the sales associate from Wednesday shouldn't have told me the total price until after they were finished laminating everything. Our total price actually came out to be LOWER than what he told me. So in the end, I could not pick up our product since we had the wrong amount written on the check. Now I have to get a new check made out and pick our product up by Monday or Tuesday. Driving around Downtown trying to find parking isn't easy. Let alone, if you do find parking you have to walk a billion miles to your destination. I ended up paying $6 for parking in a garage for 15 minutes. That's a total rip off. But at least I get reimbursed by my company. read more

To be fair, I have never asked the staff for help here, mostly because they are usually busy. I have already complained about bad computers in my other review; yes, now I get to complain about 1980s technology ala the fax machine. I spend a lot of time when I have to fax something old school via FedEx. Lotta time. Always throws me an error. Since I am assuming faxing will go out in the next year or so, I don't think it will be much of a worry, but man, I wish I wouldn't lose those hours standing at a FedEx fax machine. I normally have EXCEPTIONAL service with FedEx but I had the most unhelpful, rude and condescending male employee answer my call last Friday afternoon around 5:30pm. I did not get his name but not only could he not answer any of my questions as far as why my status updates said "delivered" and my package was M.I.A. but instead of nicely saying he didn't have the ability or whatever the issue he instead went on to say "you do realize you're calling a local FedEx store..." Uh yeah because you were holding my package at that location this morning. Unbelievable. I have never had such an unhelpful and rude FedEx representative and I am constantly ordering and shipping items both personally and for my office. Hopefully this person gets out of customer service because no one wants to deal with that. On a lighter note, I had something delivered to Upper Queen Anne last Saturday and the delivery guy was so helpful and kind I thought it'd be nice to hopefully get him recognition! I utilized this FedEx Kinko's quite a bit when I was unemployed. It's conveniently located on 3rd Ave and down the hill from the downtown library. I have used this shop to: mail FedEx envelopes, make (color) photocopies, and print copies of my resume onto fancy paper. I was also pleasantly surprised when I found they sold 3M sticky hooks, which saved me a trip to the drugstore. As other reviews mention, the customer service here is hit or miss. Some employees can be apathetic, a little gruff, and/or lacking urgency. Also, they always seem understaffed and their big print/copy/binding jobs apparently take precedence over customers waiting at the counter. More than once I have stood at the counter for several minutes, watching stressed employees scurry about in the back area. But I've also encountered very helpful and friendly employees, and this includes times when I've asked some very silly questions. In addition to customer service, experience level can vary by employee as well. Not everyone is a print specialist, that's for sure! One of the nicest girls to ever help me was also the slowest, taking forever to print several docs off a flash drive. And I've had different employees give me different answers to the same question. But I've always eventually got what I needed. Most services at this FedEx Kinko's can be self-service, or done by employees. I do suggest having them print docs for you from a flash drive, because if you use their computers to download your stuff you have to pay for the prints AND internet usage, which really adds up. The best part about making copies here is that they don't charge you for mistakes, even if it's user error. I did something really stupid once and they refunded me almost $5!!?! That's pretty awesome. You can pay for copies at a self-service kiosk or the front counter. This shop is on plenty of bus lines. They also sell some office and shipping supplies, greetings cards and calendars, snacks and soda. This FedEx Kinko's may not be full of customer service all stars, but be patient and they'll be able to get you printed, mailed, copied, and connected to the internet. read more

I am writing this review for my wife and my daughter who is 4 years old. My wife had to pick up a fax from this location for my daughter official shot records for Seattle School district. Which I figure shouldn't be a problem. . She told me she had the worst ever experience coming from Kinko's. Because of one employee who was snapping at customers and being very short with people. I can understand if the place was busy but she said the place was not busy. She mentions a number of things about he how he treated people from other cultural when they asked him question and his body language. I don't know if this employee was having a bad day but thanks to this person my family or I will never go back. read more

I've never had a shipping company work this hard to NOT have to ship my packages. I try not to go to this location because I get tired of having my customer service delivered with a large side of condescension and crankiness. Plus, I've yet to have them actually be helpful when I've needed help; no matter what you need the answer will be no. I'm used to the requisite questions about what I'm shipping, we've all been used to this since 9/11, but they go out of their way to treat you like you're a criminal trying to ship an incendiary device. (Typically I'm shipping paperwork, btw, and clearly state that.) Any time I can, I walk the extra block to their competitor (helpful, friendly and they act like they actually want my business!). I don't mind walking the extra block to see what brown can do for me because they clearly want me there. I suggest you do that as well. read more

I will NEVER go back to this FedEx location due to the incredibly poor service I received from the manager at this branch. I used the online printing feature to set up my order. Because the online order form was confusing, I wanted to ensure that no errors would made on my order, so I used the provided field to enter some additional directions/explanations. Because I used this field, the online system was unable to provide me with a quote for my order. I received an email stating the following: Dear FedEx Office Customer, Since your order contains special instructions, the FedEx Office center listed below will call you to review your order, determine final pricing, and provide payment information before it can be completed. Please allow at least 30 minutes for the Center to receive your order. Seattle WA 3rd and Marion 816 3RD AVE SEATTLE, WA 98104 UNITED STATES (206) 749-0206 Thank you, FedEx Office I was NEVER called or emailed with a quote. Based on similar orders in the past, I expected my order to be approximately $60. When I showed up at the location to pick up my order that was processed without my approval, my order was $137, which I thought was excess ESPECIALLY for a job that wasn't done perfectly (there were still dot marks from the line they were supposed to use to guide the cutting). I asked to speak to the manager. I was not hostile or upset in any way - I was simply confused because the order was twice what I expected, and I had never been given a quote or an opportunity to use the promo code for the ongoing sale of $25 off orders of $100. Even more disappointing than the price tag, however, was the manager's attitude. I work in the customer service industry myself and while I do not think the customer is ALWAYS right, I do think that a good manager takes the time to understand a customer's concern, express empathy, and do what they can to leave the customer with a positive impression of the interaction. Instead, the manager at this location told me several things that were incorrect, including: * He told me that I should have seen the price online, which is not true, because when you make a note on the project, it removes this option and the price is listed as N/A * He told me that FedEx "doesn't do that" when I expressed surprised that I was never contacted to approve such an expensive order before it was printed When I asked him what my options were, he said I didn't "have to" take it. He shut the lid of the box in an aggressive manner and refused to discuss any compromises, even though it is standard in most service industries that when the business messes up - by not quoting me the cost of an order before printing and processing it - they usually offer some type of financial compromise. Furthermore, in addition to losing the future business of myself, my fiancé, and our bridal party, this manager cost FedEx directly; my order was already printed and processed, so I imagine he just threw it in the recycling bin. I'm not sure if my encounter had anything to do with the fact that my future wife and I are a same-sex couple. I sincerely hope not. read more

I wasn't sure what would happen, but sure enough, about an hour or so later, I get a voicemail from Robert saying he looked into the item and even was able to track down information from the manufacturer as how best to prepare the shipping of this item. The staff is very helpful and friendly, but their printing could use improvement. I had a couple runs of 40 simple booklets printed here from flash drive. The first time, my order was not ready at the promised time, and the second, they did not notify it was ready, as I had requested. Also, the trimming was horrible the second time, and it took a bit of work to make the booklets passable. I will try somewhere else next time. read more

This is a happy ending review! I went to this location to have some posters printed for a music show, but unfortunately what I was promised is not what they delivered. I arrived to be disappointed with the outcome and stressed out about how to fix my order. After explaining my situation to their employee Nickcole, she stopped what she was doing, popped on the computer to fix my image, and reprinted my order for me. She was not the person who took my order, so it was really wonderful of her to take the time to listen to me re-explain everything I had asked for originally. I'm sure the employees at this location have to deal with demanding individuals all the time, so I really appreciated her effort to fix the situation and make me feel absolutely confident with my order, which I do! There's one gentleman here who actually knows what he is doing, I'm sorry I forgot his name but he wears a beard and is young. The remainder of the employees here are quite inept. I usually need the same task performed and with each person a different answer. Today was the final straw. Asking for a scan on the 600dpi scanner the clerk asked me when I wanted them by. I asked, "What?" The reply was it is going to take a long time as she has to do it manually. With the one person I spoke of in the beginning of this review, 20 pages hand scanned takes about five minutes. This time I had a couple of sheets. The time before this most recent I actually left them and of course when I viewed the scans they were incorrect and ones were missing. In all fairness they fixed the problem no charge, but then again I paid for each sheet to begin with. The shipping experiences have been just as trying. I don't know why I kept going back but will not from this point forward. If you get my man with the beard or this other younger guy then you're set. If you walk in and see anyone else then just turn around and walk away. read more
