Lady at desk was awesome and kind and there was as a line of people she quickly got everyone out.

Door open and lights on but no one at desk and the desk was locked up behind a grate. Bizarre and creepy.

Shipped over 30+ packages from this location for holidays -- staff was super friendly and efficient, in and out as quickly as possible. Particular shout out to employees RASHIA and QUINN both of whom provided excellent service and were in good spirits even in the middle of shipping season h*ll! Came in to print a UPS label and first time was told they couldn't because they had already closed for a visit visit from corporate (even though I was there an hour before closing) went by two days later and they couldn't print my label because they didn't have a computer to print off my label with. Meanwhile walked over to FedEx on 14th got my UPS labeled printed for FREE and came back with the box. It would have cost me more then $3 to print the UPS label at the UPS store because printing jobs at that location are charged a $3 base fee THEN a charge per page. This location is ridiculous avoid at all costs - I suggest the UPS on 9th or the FedEx on 14th. read more

I've been here over 10 times (mostly to return Amazon packages), and the staff have been incredibly kind and efficient.

This was my first time at this location and I had to say the customer service was exquisite, fast paced and welcoming! Generally shipping things off or anything remotely close to dealing with mail is a hassle and complete pain in the bottom! There was only 1 employee working at the moment, her name was Kelly and she made my trip here at this UPS a breeze! She handled every customer there with divine A1 Service, and very swift and strategic with getting all 6+ out of the door! Came in for simple ask: to print 3 sheets of black ink- nothing special papers. They couldn't help me as both printers they have were down. The man working tried to help but none of his manager's tools were working. This store needs a major upgrade. Go somewhere else If you have the option. Their clock doesn't even have the right time. i went here to ship one piece of luggage since I'm moving to Los Angeles. The lady who helped me priced it at $69. This was a little more than I wanted to pay, but when i did a self-service pricing on the Fed Ex website, it was comparable by a few dollars and there is no Fed Ex near me so I went here. She told me to fill out the paperwork and when I was ready to pay, another guy asked if I wanted to put this in a box, which I said, "no" and then he said it would be $15 more at around $83. I told him that the other person just told me it was $69 and that I also told her that I didn't want it in a box. It is luggage afterall. He then explained to me that luggage requires a special handling fee. I then questioned whether it is cheaper to put it in a box then. You would think luggage is designed to make handling easier so you would get a discount. He abruptly replied, "no, I didn't say that putting it in a box would be cheaper" I should have questioned at this point what is the $69 price that I was quoted earlier than since things didn't change in the 5 minutes when I was filling out the form, but by that point they had already lost me and I left. Horrendous customer service: My package was shipped by UPS, in error, to my billing address instead of the shipping address. The label I had showed this discrepancy. The lady at the counter was rude in her refusal to consider if UPS may have been at fault and I had to pay (a lot!) extra to re-direct the package to its originally-intended address, as this was a Xmas-related gift arriving late because of the combined supplier/UPS mistake. Had a great experience here this morning--the women's employee badge didn't have a name on it, or else I'd give her a shout-out. Was trying to drop off a bulky box of shoes to go back to Zappos before a work meeting that hadn't taped shut yet. No line, no wait. Super friendly woman greeted me and saw how frantic I was. She calmed me down and assured me she'd get it take care of. Saw my role of tape, handed it back to me, and sealed up the box like a pro, and asked me if I wanted a receipt. So many simple transactions like this don't happen so smoothly, so have to share great experiences when they happen! read more

I was helped today by Kelli Grace. She helped me pack up a enormous box by connecting two boxes together for International shipping. She even injured her finger and split it open while trying to help me.. and continued to help me after wrapping up her finger. She was super helpful! This is a 5 star location. I happened to chance upon this store while running my errands. I've never been to this store before and I have my regular UPS and FedEx store closer to home. It was 100 degrees outside and I had my 13 lb dog, on a leash. I couldn't leave her in the car because of the heat so I opened the door and asked if I could just bring her in for a quick minute to print my label and drop off my package. NOPE!! So I had to tie her somewhere along the street. I've been to other UPS stores that allow dogs in as long as they don't bother anyone or when there is nobody else in the store. This was a Saturday and it was empty. Like another reviewer said, $2 for "packaging services", just to close up a small box. REALLY??? I understand if I came in with nothing packed and asked them to pack it for me, but all I had to do was close the box and affix the label on there. FedEx and other UPS stores have done it for free. $3 to use the computer for 1 minute to print the label from my e-mail. I don't mind paying for the print out, but to use the computer for 1 minute? My regular UPS store lady told me that I could just log in to the laptop they have and quickly print it out and I would just pay 10 cents for the print out. So, here I thought that all UPS stores are the same, apparently not. They are franchised and individually owned. The person (I have his name) was rude about the dog, indifferent about everything else and was just waiting till 5 PM so that he could get out of there. This store is poorly run. They were out of mailers and stamps. The manager left a trainee alone running the store. She was overwhelmed and overworked. All the other UPS Store locations close to my office have one- or two-star reviews. Yikes. If not for that, I probably wouldn't think to write a review for this location. I've used this UPS Store numerous times for my business and personal shipping needs. All my shipments have arrived to their intended destinations on time, 100% of the time. The location is quiet, but the staff is very helpful, calm and professional. Most importantly, the staff is deliberate, thorough and takes the time to make sure your order is correct. The prices are a bit high, but you get what you pay for, at least at this particular store. read more

Faced a discrimination at this place based on my nationality. If you're a foreigner, please, don't even think of using their services! You'll be instantly denied and humiliated in front of the public. I tired to ship some documents last week with an overnight service and got denied, because I didn't have US issued ID and solely on this reason. I did present government-issued ID (a foreign passport) that according UPS website is sufficient for sending or receiving documents and packages, but the girl, who worked there, refused to send my papers anyway. She kept denying me even after I said that I have US phone number and will her my US address, where I'm staying while on a visit and she also saw, that I was sending nothing else, but paper - I didn't have an envelope. Positive: Customer service is good. The people are kind and attentive. And the staff listened to my concerns. Negative: I was charged for packaging. Cashier gave me a receipt to sign for $74 and then told me my bill was $114. I asked why the different and was told I needed two boxes for packages already in boxes because items could not be sent in the manufacturers boxes. (ridiculous). I asked if I could purchase a $4 box behind me in the retail section. And was told yes, but I can not assemble the box in the UPS Store space. So in other words I am stuck with paying $40 for them to place my items in two boxes. Just another reason why I do not like the franchise UPS Stores. None of them make any sense. Stay with FEDEX or find a non-UPS store. I seriously can not figure out the pricing or policies at these UPS Stores. And I feel bad for the people who pay money to be franchisees. read more

Seriously, the staff here is fantastic. Last year I started renting a box at this location because I was concerned about people stealing packages left at my door. Alisha and her team always greet me when I come in, they remember my name, and they always bring back my packages before I've even had a chance to check my box. This is one of those rare places in DC where the employees seem genuinely happy and friendly. They're also great if you need help sending any packages. Highly recommended. read more

I can't believe how easy this was! I walked in, the lady was on the phone but immediately put it down and greeted me. Then she said "you can just put your box on the scale and you're good." I said I had to borrow some tape because the box was still open and she said, "no we got it." Then another woman came out and said "hi sir, how are you?" 10 seconds later I had my printed receipt and was gone. Total of 30 seconds. UPS must be shaking things up and paying their employees more, knowing that Amazon will soon start their own truck fleet. They're gonna have to compete on customer service. read more

I then paid for the stupid tape, which then when I was unaware, was picked up by other unsuspecting customers to be used as free tape. I then demanded a new roll of tape after discovering what happened and the older male employee was very rude and unaccomodating. The younger employee was a lot nicer. I had a TERRIBLE TIME HERE which shouldn't happen if I'm just dropping off a package! Who wants to get upset from going to the mail store?? I so appreciate this UPS location. Every time I come here, the employees are friendly and helpful. They really make an effort to make sure you get what you need as quickly as possible. The wait time is always short, because the store is appropriately staffed and the employees work efficiently to keep the lines moving. They are also very nice about offering to secure boxes with extra tape if they think it's advisable. Just tonight, I was in the store, and all three employees, Ryan, John H., and Justin, greeted me at some point and asked if I needed any assistance (I needed a few services, so they helped me with different things). At no time did I ever feel overlooked or ignored. And in the meantime, they efficiently helped out other customers while they could take a pause from helping me. This location is the best I've been to in the entire city. I would go out of my way to come here, because I'm the end, i know it will be a better experience. read more

For ground shipping, FedEx provides better service at a lower cost. I had been going to this UPS store when I thought UPS Ground was cheaper. One day, I was trying to ship a package and didn't have any tape. Having the store tape it up was going to cost $2. The clerk told me that it would cost the same if I did the taping using their tape. I wound up going to FedEx Office (on 14th between K and I), which charged less for the shipment and provided tape at no extra cost. I have been going there ever since. read more

I needed to ship something back to Northern Cal and price seemed higher than usual. I had a plane to catch and I didnt have time to investigate another place so I shipped it. I have a box at my local UPS store. When the box arrived in CA, I asked the manager of my local UPS store, to weigh and price the box, as if I was shipping it to DC. His price was $20 cheaper than what I was charged. I was furious when I found that out. He said they charged me for a bigger box than what mine was. I didnt measure the box or weigh contents. I am used to UPS stores being trustworthy. Clearly not!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE!! Make sure to read reviews before going to one and if you can get your own UPS label before leaving home so that you don't have to deal with unscrupulous people. From now on, I will do that before I leave home. read more

I wish I could leave ZERO stars this has been the WORST experience I have EVER had. I ship pallets and boxes daily. I called this store and asked for a shipping quote I provided them a list of EXACTLY what was to be shipped the store assistant manager gave me a quote just over 500.00 I told my associate I thought it would be a couple hundred more than their estimate however after she picked up my stuff she then told me it would be almost 1600.00 not counting packing in which she quoted me 102.00 and she charged me 460.00 I felt stuck as I am in Texas and she had already went and picked up my stuff. (15,000.00 worth) So I ended letting her pack it costing me 360.00 more than she said I then had to call FedEx to go pick up and ship which was 900.00 cheaper then UPS. It arrived today when I opened the boxes I was SHOCKED to find no packing just my stuff thrown in a box with bubble wrap on top. The radios we on the bottom of the box with the knobs all busted off. So now I am out a ton of money to repair the broken items. I feel very cheated as I paid 460.00 to have them packed 9 boxed total with 20.00 of bubbles used.
