Food and customer service was GREAT! The food hit the spot when you're looking for home cook quick meal. There's seating and carry out.

Man, you all have to get someone else to answer the phone. One woman had a very thick accent and grew impatient because I couldn't understand her. I asked her the ticket number and total then she just hung up after saying thank you. In my experience, the shittier the experience, the better the food. You cannot sit down in this restaurant. It's only for pick up, you MUST call ahead, and the ambiance is the equivalent of any hole-in-the walk place that doesn't really care for the look because their food speaks for itself. The sandwich itself was cool. Considering the total was 11.90 for two of these, it's not bad. One sandwich can be a cool snack, but two of these and a half and half.. you're set. Sandwich. - 7/10. Couldn't been more flavorful? Egg was pretty thin. Maybe eggs a la Carte lol

I've been going here for years & their breakfast is always EXCEPTIONAL. After many years I finally tried their steak breakfast platter and omg the steak was so juicy and good. Eggs with cheese always a go! & then home fries wooo lord!

Ordering was quite easy. Just call place your order. They give you a number 20 minutes later pick up and pay. The staff was super friendly. My issue with this restaurant was the food lacked flavor. Everything lacked flavor. The grits I had butter floating on the top. Whew Chyle! I almost thought I had Covid. I'm willing to try this place again and hopefully the food is worth the time and drive. W

I love this lo-key spot! Discovered it a while back and now this is my Sat/Sun morning spot! Food is good! Service is good! Only thing I will say is that the pricing has gone up a lil but I understand because so has inflation!

Salmon cakes scramble eggs and grits the worst ever

The worst ever the salmon cake was so bland it taste like it was just put together straight out the can. The grits was just horrible one piece of cheese no salt and pepper couldn't taste the butter the eggs was OK and the toast was the best... I should've just took drove and went to DC deli... Will not be returning...

We walked in on a Saturday afternoon and it was completely empty. The cook was sitting at one of the tables and the waitress was behind the bar (they don't serve alcohol) hoping someone would come in. There is an upstairs and a downstairs. We did not go downstairs but I'm assuming there are plenty of seats like upstairs. We ordered the hangry breakfast, which came with French toast, eggs and potatoes, the salmon burger and the chicken & waffles. It's a good thing we ordered so much becaus the chicken and waffles only comes with 4 wingettes. We ordered water but were told they were out of ice. Instead my wife ordered a $4 CANNED SODA because that is the only thing they had cold. $4 for a can is insane by the way. Since we were the only ones in the establishment we expected the food to come quickly but that seemed to take 20-25 minutes as well. Our food eventually arrived. The French toast was good. Flavorful but small. Sandwhich bag slices of bread. The potatoes were clearly from the Walmart frozen foot section. The eggs were ok. My wife's waffle was cool however the chicken was BLAND and SEASONLESS. We didn't even finish them. For $18 I expected more. The salmon burger was by far the best thing there. A thick cut of salmon that was flavorful. We should have gotten two of those. The waitress was nice. The food is overpriced. I should have known when we walked in and the place was empty. Not sure how they stay open having brunch without alcohol but to each is own. One and done for me as a neighborhood guy. The food isn't great and the prices are high. No reason to return.

I'm happy they have a kids menu because there's no way these babies would've been able to finish an entree. Beware the kids menu notes a 7 and under age limit. Two of the kids had fried chicken and fries, they said it was tasty. I tasted a fry and it was crispy and freshly dropped. I had the fried fish and grits. The fish was crispy and juicy, just a tad over salted. The grits were creamy and balanced. Also my lavender lemonade was tasty too! One of the older kids snagged the chicken Cajun pasta. She didn't like the chicken but really enjoyed pasta. I gave the pasta a bite and wasn't a fan of the flavor profile so left her meal alone lol. We then ended the meal with the butter cake. Unfortunately it had a sour taste so I sent it back, I was disappointed for sure.

From the outside, it has that classic, full-fledged American diner look and once you walk in, it absolutely delivers on that vibe. The place is clean, welcoming, and has a really nice atmosphere. As soon as we entered, the greeter was friendly and quickly got us seated in a booth. The staff overall was very welcoming and attentive throughout our visit, which made the experience even better. The menu has a ton of options, so there's something for everyone. For our meal, we ordered the French toast and the shrimp and grits, and for an appetizer, we tried the spinach rolls which were honestly fantastic and a standout item. Everything we had was flavorful and satisfying. There was a small mix-up with my drink, I ordered orange juice but received apple juice instead but it wasn't a big deal, and everything else came out great. The diner also offers a variety of beverages, including alcoholic options, coffee, hot chocolate, and more, though we stuck with breakfast drinks this time. Pricing can be a bit on the higher side depending on what you order. For two people, our breakfast came out to around $68, but considering the quality of the food, service, and overall experience, it felt worth it. Overall, we had a great time and really enjoyed our breakfast here. Between the atmosphere, the food, and the friendly staff, I'd definitely come back again. 4 out of 5 stars!

Those flavors paired well together and were a surprisingly delicious combination. It was the perfect way to end the meal. Service was good as well. We sat inside but stepped out onto the balcony to take pictures and take in the incredible views of Washington, D.C., and the Capitol. There's no smoke and mirrors here--the city views are stunning from here. The view alone makes this place worth a visit. It's the kind of place that should be a reliable go-to for a group looking to catch sunset drinks before dinner. We made a reservation for eight, which turned out to be completely unnecessary given how empty it was when we arrived. After getting seated, 15 minutes passed without a single server coming by. Not a water drop, not an acknowledgment, nothing. A few of us eventually walked up to the host stand and asked if we could just order drinks at the bar while we caught the last of the sunset on the patio. Even that took far longer than it should have. This isn't a packed Friday night situation where you chalk it up to volume. The place was largely empty. The bar was slow regardless. We made it back to the table. Another 15 minutes before anyone came by to offer water or take drink orders. At that point, we looked at the limited snack menu, decided dinner was happening elsewhere, and let the host know we were leaving. The one server who did eventually stop by apologized and volunteered that the bar was just slow to get drinks out. At least someone said it out loud. The number of empty tables confirmed that plenty of other people had already figured this out on their own. The setting here is genuinely good. The views are real, the space is well-designed, and there's no reason this shouldn't work. But the service infrastructure clearly can't support even a moderately sized group on a slow night, which is a significant problem for a place marketing itself as an events and reservations venue. You can't charge Navy Yard prices and run a bar that moves at this pace. Wouldn't go back unless something has visibly changed.
