I had bodywork done with Karen on 8/24 and I am already dreaming about my next session. Karen is very intentional and attentive. We spent the first 10 minutes of our session talking about what my goals are with bodywork and what my work day and gym routine look like. She took the time to truly understand my body and needs before jumping in. Just did a 90 minute session with steam-room and I am definitely coming back. Karen has such a gift for this kind of healing work. She made the experience feel so calm and personal. She has a great dedicated space for this and is so knowledgeable. We first talked about what I was comfortable with, what I was looking for. I mentioned an injury I'm still nursing and she was very mindful to work around it. In my case we started with light assisted stretching that helped to get really deep into areas I'm working on improving. Then, on the table, she used a few tools that felt really welcome, electric massager for a bit, followed by massaging into the whole body with different hand techniques. All the while having great communication about any areas that were sensitive and making sure I was comfortable. I found the way she does forearm and hands to give such a great stretch all along the upper arm and shoulder, it's so good. The steam room is so was ready to go in a few moments and just sitting in it for a few moments breathing in slowly was such a relaxing time. What a treat, definitely highly recommend. She provided a towel and privacy to change. Also provided water and took time to check in at the end of the session, so I did not feel rushed out. A day later and I slept good, feeling so rejuvinated. More people need to add massages into their daily life! read more
