I couldn't believe how committed he was to his yoga and Pilates classes because in the 7 years I've known him, he never wanted to exercise. Suddenly he was going everyday and I could see him feeling and looking better. One day he said, "you should come with me, you'd love Petrina's class!" He was right, Petrina's class is full of energy and good vibes, you get an amazing full body workout that leaves you energized. I was impressed how she knew everyone by name and how she modifies for all levels. My boyfriend and I had a blast working out side by side. I could see why he felt so comfortable at this studio. Since then, we've been regulars in her class. One weekend we went to breakfast and the server recognized us from the studio. She said if you like Petrina's class, you should try Rosario's too. We did and we both loved Rosario's class too. Both instructors love what they do and it shows in the amazing classes that they deliver week after week. You will NEVER get bored! These ladies build relationships with their students and this is why The Hot Room is known for their sense of community. Nicole is another one of our favorites! We appreciate her expertise and unique classes like the mobility class. We always feel amazing after her classes.

I felt rushed to get ready from a shower. The instructor was waiting until everyone left to lock up. - They say they are a friendly community but do not use beginner introductions/instructions in the class. - I took Petrina class and I felt very uncomfortable. The moment I walked in, I think a class just ended, and Petrina just yelled at me and said, "Hold on!" with one hand towards me. I just quietly walked around her to put my belongings away. I told her that I usually go to Rayoga but want to try something different. At the beginning of class, she made a comment about me not having a water bottle and I told her that I do not sip on water during a workout (something that I've done just naturally) and she made a weird face and "ohhhhkay." Also, Im new here so I didn't know they refer "ballerina" to the pilates ring. When the workout began, she went over and said, "oh, you didnt want to use the ring?" and I was taken by surprise and just said, "I didnt know we needed to get one." and then she hands me a ring. This was my last class. It did not feel like the best environment for me.

After the trial, I honestly wasn't planning on joining, but after taking Jason S's class I changed my mind His strength yoga class is my favorite. Plan to arrive early in case you have to park across the street. My main issues are with the strict membership policy and the crowdedness inside the studio. Most instructors are talented not only in their practice but in teaching their students. I learn and follow best by seeing a demonstration not just listening to a lecture. I had an instructor that just used the mic to give directions without showing us. One class resembled a karaoke session which was fun the first couple songs but it was dark and I couldn't see beyond the bodies next to me (they're closer than you think btw). I wasn't sure if I was using the correct form, where the instructor was, or what we were supposed to be doing. Fine for the advanced yogis but leaving us beginners lost. Overall I enjoy attending most classes here. A big issue is it's so crowded. During class you're almost on top of each other so much so that they have to stagger who bends where. The walkways get so congested and I didn't even take a chance with the locker rooms bc the people in there looked like sardines. I see so many studios other than Ra popping up left and right that it would probably benefit them to open up more locations.

I've been to multiple Pilates studios now and I thought I'd try this out. Relentless texting & calling when booking the first class! An email sure but 0 of the other Pilates studios would 1) call me 2) text me to call them 3) call me to confirm I want to come to class & then text me to confirm?? I ended up cancelling because I didn't want to be sucked into any conversation. Every Pilates studios I've been to I receive a welcome email with instructions & essentials, walk-in, work out & walk out. After struggling with being motivated to exercise, I saw an ad on IG about a free intro class. Since the video had people using a machine (reformer), I thought I could do this more than yoga which is more unsupported. Also, I've tried at home vids before and I felt that I did not know the correct forms bec I did not have an instructor to notice and correct my positions. What encouraged me to try it out was after I filled out the free intro class form online, the person who called me seemed so nice and competent, even asking about any physical challenges I may have. At this point esp with a free class, there was no reason for me not to try it out! Bec of the person who called me, I felt they would understand such as if I had a hard time, etc. When I did the intro class with Mildraide (who soon became one of my favorites), I was shaking with some of the exercises, but she did not make me feel like a failure. She also greeted me with a genuine welcoming kind smile, so even if she has more of a drilling style, I did not feel intimidated. I left still pondering if I should do it, but what sold me was from that first class, I felt I could stand up taller, my limbs were more flexible, and I had a spring on my step. I am so glad one of their staff members, Cameron, convinced me because I have become healthier from doing pilates and always encourage my friends to try. This review is also for one of my other favorite instructors, Yulia, who's classically trained in pilates. Ever since I started taking her classes, I saw a big difference in the mirror and pictures and I am not so bloated and my shape is more defined. Honestly, that alone will make me keep on going, but I love the stress release and boost I get from exercising. I have since upgraded to 8 classes per month because my body started to crave the exercise. I almost want to gatekeep Yulia's class cause I never want to have to be on a waitlist, but I hope she will work at this location for a very long time. I am honestly impressed by the variety of exercises and how she knows how many reps are reasonable to expect per level. I since moved up to her level 1.5 bec I know it's appropriate to the level and won't leave me discouraged or incapable. She's very professional and never humiliates. The other instructors and staff are also great, particularly at this location. I think there is a special happy and caring feeling in this particular site, and whenever I have questions or need help about my account, I get really helpful responses. So all in all, this is just as excellent as a pilates club can be.

We decided to go to the Yoga Sculpt 50 Heated class taught by Megan, and we had a great experience / workout. The class description is accurate stating "Build strength, tone, and sweat in Yoga Sculpt! Yoga Sculpt blends yoga with weight training. In this class you'll go through sun salutations, then a yoga flow incorporating weights, plus additional strengthening exercises using body weight, weights, and/or resistance bands." The time flew by, Megan was an excellent instructor and the studio is clean, spacious, offers cubbies for your personal belongings, and so much more. If you're in this area of Long Beach and seeking a yoga class, look no further than Yoga108!

Upon entering the first time I was completely ignored at the front desk for over 5 minutes. When I finally got her attention that I was new and wanted to sign up I was hastily given forms to sign and no information. Upon entering the room for yoga there were hardly and spots left yo put my mat down so I went to the front row and waited for class to start as it was time. Instead the next ten minutes they overloaded the class with people. So we started late and were touching each other's mats and had no room. The class itself was disappointing and had no structure. Do one move on one side, then not the other. No sun As it Bs just random movement thrown together. And then a 15 min shavasana. We basically didn't do much and that was the power class. No one says hello to each other if you are new, I didn't feel welcome or that it was worth it. I did go back for a second class and again was disappointed. I've since tried West Coast sweat and it was a million times better all around!
