Shelburne :: I went in to get a bagel with butter for my child before the school bus came. No other customers were there. I thought it would be quick. Two men came in behind me. I told the gal I needed to be quick. She then took the orders of the two men who came in after me and put my bagel in the toaster last. She prepared the bagel of the man who came in after me first. I mentioned that I needed to be quick so another server put the butter on my bagel and gave it to me. Just as I went out the door the bus and the man who came in behind me were pulling away. Don't go there if you want to be quick about it. Oh and after I saw the bus pull out, and complained that the server took care of the man who came in after me, all she could say was, "Have a nice day." Seriously. The Burlington Bagel Bakery has excellent bagels, a great menu and super service, just up the road. read more

Bagels are pretty good there. Maybe this is the only bagel place with such relaxed atmosphere. They offer lots of table which you can sit down with your friends. Overall, it's a bagel place worth to try :) read more

The staff is great as heck and very friendly people, the facilities are very clean and top notch. Everything is otherwise pretty good about this place from what I've seen except for one thing. The purveyor of this establishment himself, Roy Feldman. From what I've gathered he seems reputable and somewhat respected among many venues. A very accomplished man, and although I haven't had any of his food, it looks a smells great! What I have had, however, is the disservice of having to deliver supplies to this guy. He was incredibly rude. A couple of other delivery guys I work with had run ins with him as well. I took over his stop from another driver who was out for the day. Never having delivered to his place before, I didn't know his protocol for deliveries. He informed me, very rudely, that he didn't accept deliveries after a certain time. I apologized for the inconvenience and asked if he would still like the items he ordered. He grunted then walked away. I completed the delivery and asked one of his friendly staff members to sign for it. He was unable to due to food-covered hands and pointed to Feldman and said, "He can sign for it." Feldman then stomps over to me, rips the pen and paper from my hands, then THROWS it back in my face. I was very embarrassed by it since his entire kitchen staff and a few of his customers witnessed it. It's technically simple assault but mostly - who would do that to another person? This was within my first 2 weeks at my first civilian job since honorably separating from active duty military. I understand that running a haughty bagel shop in the coveted real estate of Burlington is a lot of pressure, but have some decency. The delivery guy who you're treating like lowly trash could be a combat veteran who was in the same unit, and even really good friends with the infamous Josh Pollatta, the veteran from Vermont whose mother is always pushing veteran suicide awareness. So thanks Roy. Also, give your staff a raise. read more

wafey small bagels. They need to figure something out. Go try the bagels that Muddy Waters gets.... those are the real deal. Tried this new place twice because its in my neighborhood, the second time was worse then the first. The eggs tasted rubbery and strange and upon inspection, they were grey. The bacon was not fresh either and after about 5 minutes the cheese sorta turned into a plastic layer. The entire thing was a waste. I am truly disappointed because their sign is amazing and it could be prime for the right restaurant. sorry. My boyfriend and I have tried every bagel place in the Burlington area in the last 2 weeks in search of the absolute best. This new shop has won my heart by a landslide. Feldman's features plenty of parking and an easy to access location, a bright and clean atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, and a decent selection of various bagels, cream cheeses, and bagel-sandwiches. Most importantly, the bagels are made just the way I like them: no holes in the dough, chewy and soft on the inside, crispy and crunchy on the outside, and they stay warm long enough to get home. The bagel-baristas definitely slather on the cream cheese generously, but I like it that way. If a shop can pass the plain bagel with plain cream cheese test with flying colors, I'm willing to go back to try the more adventurous flavors. From now on, I won't go anywhere but Feldman's. read more

I thought I loved bagels before, but Feldman's turned me into an addict. Perfect texture, delicious local ingredients, and lots of creative recipes and sides to go along with the main event. Wow! The bagels and bialys were great but what about that matzo ball soup!?!? It is incredible! I always thought my Mom's was the best, and my wife has pretty much matched hers. Feldman's Bagels serves up the equal to those great experiences. What makes it even more special is that it is served in a restaurant. I have never tasted anything that could even compete with Feldman's in any deli/restaurant experience in my life! It was definitely worth the trip from Texas! read more

Must have caught these folks on a bad day; Ordered Chicken salad on sesame seed bagel toasted; got to the car, was amazed at the small amount of CSalad; ( a tad more than if you put butter on toast) went back in and inquired, they said that was normal; ( they gave me small plastic cup of additional salad; ( also asked for lettuce originally, a rabbit would have asked for more: Coming from NY/NJ was a little embarrassed (for them) that this was a 'bagel sandwich" for 4.85$; this is second time visiting this shop; same experience; If all other bagel shops, stores, quick stops are closed, this place will be fine; Yes us flat-landers are spoiled; We like value read more

Our favorite bagels, with interesting special offerings and very good sandwiches. The biggest draw for my family is that Feldman's is very, very good about handling food allergies. They prepare allergy orders separately and are attentive to detail, and never make us feel like an inconvenience. It should be noted that most major allergens are present, so your comfort level may vary, but they do do a good job! Always friendly and fun. So glad they're here! read more

This is the best place to get bagels in the area. Clean, organized, friendly service. The bagels are simply perfect - not too huge, chewy and crusty at the same time, just the ideal texture. They have a seasonal cream cheese with sriracha and cilantro that is soooooo good, I think I had a dream about it. Prices seem reasonable if not a little less than other local bagel joints. The bagels at Feldman's bagels are the closest to the old NY style bagels I have ever had. They truly are "NY" bagels. The dough is just right, and the process is perfect! It also helps that the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Anyone going through Burlington, Vt should definitely go there for a bagel! read more

Best bagels in town in my opinion. Bagel dogs are made on Thursday and they're really good, and even better dipping them in mustard. Their turkey sandwich with cranberry cream cheese is to die for! The staff is friendly, the food is fresh, and the sign has some funny stuff on it sometimes which makes me smile! Can't ask for more. read more

I go to Feldman's pretty frequently, but mostly because it is just down the road from my house and on my way to work, otherwise I'd definitely chose other bagel places in the area. Their bagels are just ok. The bagel selection is limited but has all of the classics, just nothing special. I think they are a little over priced in general, but definitely for certain items, like the BLT I ordered this morning (with cheese, which cost extra) that came to $9.30 - nothing with it, just a BLT for ten bucks! read more

Having eaten many true NY bagels in my life, this is as close as you can get in Vermont. Not quite the same taste that you'd get in the city, but pretty dang close (and tasty). This is my 2nd favorite bagel shop in Burlington. Like other small businesses, be forewarned that they do not take AMEX. read more
