She may be great at all the clerical stuff for all I know, but her social skills are not suited for this type of business. You're already dealing with people who have just lost a loved one which requires more empathy and care than an average business/customer. Unfortunately my aunt passed away from natural causes during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we could only do virtual services. They told my mother that they could do a livestream of it via youtube. We shared the information with our entire family. The day of the service we all tried to watch it, but it was extremely blurry and was buffering. I was receiving text messages from family, my mother was receiving phone calls. It was extremely heart breaking, and embarrassing that 95 of our relatives had to experience this. It ruined the day for my grieving mother. She called them twice and they were not able to fix it. In an effort to make amends they sent out a high quality video using google drive the next day. It was too little, too late for our family. Not even a partial refund was offered. Knowing that currently in person services are not available, they should have done a test run and made sure that they were prepared. This is extremely unprofessional, and heartbreaking for my family. It was already terrible enough to have our loved one pass during a time where we could not be together as a family. We were unable to honor her as we felt she deserved, with an in person service. So for the virtual service to end up this way was unacceptable. I hope that they have learned and this does not happen to any other families. read more

Very respectful. Theresa was always keeping me informed and she was very empathetic. Every time I called I was greeted with kindness and respect. The only thing was that it took 5 months to get the proper documents from the state to send my loved ones remains out of the country. They had made an error on her engraving on her urn but it was corrected and I quickly received a new urn. The new urn was even better than the original. My loved one had pre chosen this place and had made prior arrangements before her passing so we conducted business with them. We have had several other services done here through out the years. At first our experience was easy and pleasant partially due to the fact that pretty much everything had been pre planned. On the day of the funeral we could not go fourth with the burial due to a mistake Felipe Bagues mortuary made on the date of death. The director of the cemetery finally got in touch with some on there and they amended the paper work and we were able to go fourth with the burial. Almost a month goes by and we have been waiting for the death certificate to arrive to handle the estate and we have not received it. We ended up calling them and come to find out the amended paper work was never resubmitted for the doctors signature. It sat on their desk for 3 weeks untouched. Now after speaking to the "manager" they are putting this all on the State and telling us it will be a 3-4 month process. If we wouldn't have hunted them down they would have NEVER TOLD us. At the very least they should acknowledge their error, apologize and offer to try and help the situation. Our entire families estate is at risk because of this error. I URGE YOU NOT TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. read more

This is the worst place ever!!!! Save yourself the stress & anxiety. Our mother had prearranged plans at this location. The day of her funeral we were told at the cemetery that this mortuary had make a mistake and had the wrong date of death. They sat on her paperwork for almost a month! They never bothered calling our family. It was only after several calls from us that they acknowledged that they were waiting to get a drs signature. Now we are told that its out of their hands and that we may have to wait 2-3 MONTHS for the state to send us the death certificate. They are completely incompetent!!!! Do not put your family through additional grief!! Find a mortuary that cares. This one does not!! They never even bothered to apologize. No family deserves the disregard we've received!!! read more

I received calls twice from the mortuary office to say the thumbprint pendants we ordered were ready to pick up and made an appointment, as per protocol, for Saturday at 10am. The Felipe Bagues Mortuary on First Street has such limited parking that attendees must park in the street. The only alternate is parking on the street. There is only metered parking and if you do not put the correct amount of money in the meters you will get a parking ticket for $63. Its hard to tell if you have to pay because there are signs that say One Hour Parking. Its dark and you cannot read the meters to see how much you have to pay. The mortuary does no advise the attendees they could get a parking ticket. This is not good for business and they should at least notify everyone. Their lot maybe accommodates 10 cars. They must be aware of this. That's the least they could do. read more

Dealing with death is no easy subject. With the recent passing of my grandfather and having nothing prearranged, we were able to stumble upon this mortuary through a recommendation of a friend. With having no knowledge of this place, I gave them a call. They were so sincere and understanding over the phone. They answered all the immediate questions that they could, even some of the questions that I thought were dumb. I was able to schedule a time that I could go and meet with them in person. Finally, meeting with them, I immediately felt like I was apart of their family. They cared for my feelings and it wasn't like they were running a business but rather dealing with family. That is what I like about these people. They are some of the nicest people I have ever met. In such a time of despair and sadness, they brought a smile to my face. The day of the funeral went without a problem. Everything was taken care and I was just truly allowed to mourn for my loss. I HIGHLY recommend these people. Honestly this mortuary is a whole mess. They are really shady! We used this mortuary for my loved one's services and we regretted it. It's sad that they don't care about their customers especially when families are going through a difficult time. When we called and had specific questions that needed to be answered about our loved one's services, only once were they returned out of about the 7-10 tines we called AND they promised to return them. We always had to initiate and follow up the calls. Theresa and another lady, I think Olga, were the ones handling my calls at the beginning of the service and they were always like "oh yes, we'll return your calls, etc". All they do is cold-transfer the call to another person there and try to get you off the phone knowing damn well you still have questions. I was warned about them being "thieves" and I didn't believe it, but circumstances made us choose them. So MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT get services here! Mark my words you will regret it Horrible customer service! When you're in pain and suffering and receiving misinformation from these people and they're lying straight to your face and Over the phone, that's where it is despicable! There is a man there with white hair, green or colored eyes, (I didn't get his name) who is rude as well too. Just know they are in it for the money!!! We're having issues STILL with other legal documents that they swear they mailed but NEVER did! They're just bad with customer service and probably need to have a better organization system and better people overall working there. Awful! read more

The prices are extremely competitive I went to 4 different mortuaries and by far Bagues had the best prices. The only downfall is the parking lot is is very small. I appreciate the condolences, but to assume that this is a competitor trying to mean spirited is ridiculous. Why would I be able to provide all those specific details if I was just a competitor? Why would I be so upset if I was a competitor? Furthermore, there ARE other reviews that state that they were too also left alone for long periods of time, thus those families having to basically run their own services as well, not to mention being rushed to finish. What I didn't mention because I wrote this review before we picked up our loved ones ashes is that you guys stated one price and said it would be done by a certain day, as his mother was flying back to Mexico with his ashes. What ended up happening is you guys charged us an extra $200 to have it done by the day we originally requested. Also, to top all of it off, when we called in to ask if everything was done and was ready to pick up, the woman who answered said yes, everything was ready. When we got there, NOTHING WAS READY. My sister, son, and I had to wait near 30 minutes for them to get all the paperwork ready. No exaggeration. I have no reason to lie or to make up things about your business. I never even knew you guys existed before a family member recommended you guys to us. read more

Dealing with death is never a great experience, they make it as easy of a process as it can be. My family went through this mortuary for both of my uncles who passed a year apart from each other. From the first phone call to have them picked up from the hospital to the last contact for the burial the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. We enjoyed the fact that they are family owned and were all on the same page. Never having to explain our situation to multiple people. The staff not only helped with the cremation process but they went out of their way to help set up the burial at sea. The business side of dealing with a death was easy due the prompt responses of the staff to complete and file paperwork to assure the burial at sea to take place on the day we wanted it to. When questions came up they were always on hand to provide answers and if they were not available right away they made sure to get back to us in a timely manor. We had as stress free of a time as we could with my uncles burials that we have started to pre-plan for my grandma. We buried our grandfather yesterday, services Sunday were even more horrible the priest was 45 minutes to an hour late staff never came out to tell guest made family do it. After priest finally came and left we never seen staff again ever !! WE THE FAMILY CONDUCTED OUR OWN SERVICE, no one came out to guide guest to pay respects to family or deceased it was embarrassing and unprofessional, the next day at cemetery they took our loved ones flowers to the wrong funeral. After being told refund they went to other grave got flowers and brouht them at the end of burial service . They made a mockery of my grandfathers service very disrespectful.
