When I was 8 year's old back in 1996 not yet 9 year's old. I wasn't as aware to the importance of…read moredying and honoring the death of one. At this age, I thought about my own past priorities never being late to school, being a friend protector, and other things that young mind's think of when they're young and their mind is still fresh. My grandmother use to walk me or drive me to school. She started driving me to school when her feet started swelling up really bad. In an unexpected panic myself worrying about being late to school didn't think of the thought of my grandmother's fall at the front screen door pulling the front screen door with her as she fell to the floor. She got up and walked to the bedroom where I sleep now. She laid in the bunk bed's that we had at the time when there was 7 of us living in a two bedroom house sharing one bathroom. I remember her trying to die at home. My grandfather was born in the 1800's when the western dirt road's and train track's existed. He spoke pure Spanish but actually understood English. He would mumble to me jokes in Spanish and he would laugh at me when I would try to understand and repeat what ever he said in Spanish. Although, I never caught on to learning his Spanish. My father came from a family of seven learning how to survive for himself while his father was a doctor. He went to school to learn Electronics, worked at several airplane companies, joined the military and made it a career for 22 year's, and worked at another aerospace company for 20 year's just before getting sick. His father had been a doctor during the Holocaust. His father had to use his doctoring knowledge to prevent himself from being taken to the gas chambers. He befriended the Germans and was lucky. He saw when the families were being separated and forced into the gas chambers. I would have to say that I'm half like my father more for thinking of the most important priorities to be done first. I learned what it's like to have to save money when money is tight and doesn't seem right. I think that I would be a good provider and a trustworthy person having experienced and seeing a lot while I was growing up. I started attending Resurrection Cemetery in Rosemead when I was in my early twenties traveling on the Montebello 40 bus that would leave me in front of the Montebello Mall, then I would take the Montebello 70 bus that would leave me off right by the cemetery. I didn't have the best equipment at the time, nor did I have the money to really buy the flower's. So, I would attend to the grave yard with what I had to clean around the graves of my grandma, grandfather, and now since for four year's now my father. I had to organize a routine that would help me finish a grave faster. After I would finish. I would just sit on the grass for a real long time in deep thought. I have developed my own set-up of decor to leave at each grave and never come back for it, some skill's, a routine that work's, and my own assortment of tool's through out the year's that I have been attending the cemetery for my three loved one's. I love going to the cemetery and having the feeling of peace with myself. But, what I don't appreciate is the desecration of my three loved one's head stone's that were never scratched until now . Please grave yard maintenance worker's. Please be more mindful to our dead loved one's grave head stones. You would not want the same for your loved one's. A second would be some of the security guard's that act more superior than their pay grade and power. Would it kill you to show us some courtesy and respect. Some of you will walk up to me because I look more masculine than anything though I'm 100% by birth female not by transformation and tell me that I need to leave. You will threaten me like ICE threatens immigrants. And, the third would be to the visiter's like myself that attend the cemetery caring these big lawn chairs, big ice chests, and have children that they can't control running around the grave yard like a park. I have a deep appreciation for all the loved one's buried any where and everywhere. Be mindful when laying your gear out to make camp at your loved one's grave. Try not to step on grave stones as well place unnecessarily item's on other loved ones grave stones to use as a table. I enjoyed my day on Saturday, 05/16/2026 when I came to the cemetery and the cemetery was fairly filled. The cool afternoon air felt exuberant. I was able to tend all three graves fast enough to still have time to take in the beauty and time to have a moment with each of my loved one's.

Noticed upon arrival that the front office reception has been remodeled which was nice. However,…read morethree staff members sitting at front counter, you could tell none wanted to get up and assist us the minute we walked in. Acted like we were bothering them instead of being attentive to what we needed assistance with. They should've upgraded their website or added a self service kiosk aiding those needing help to find a service &/or grave. Forrest lawn gets a hand of applause for have this option available on-line including a map of their grounds. If it's such a bother please add this feature for people to use. I bet if we would've inquired about purchasing property their tune would've probably changed. So sad esp since this is a Catholic Cemetery. Do better Resurrection Cemetery & actually help those who walk into the office seeking assistance!!

If you need flowers, go to Lily Florist!…read more Lily florist is a small mom and daughter shop on Valley blvd and I think they have been around for almost 40 years. They consistently deliver beautiful, high quality arrangements, that are thoughtful than mass produced. Their turn around time is impressively fast and their prices are more than fair when considering the level of care and freshness you get. This place reminds me of why I love supporting local business. Next anniversary or special event needing flowers, I will definitely be placing my order here!

There is one spot with free 20 minutes parking right in front of the shop. As for parking on the rest of the street, I am not sure. Please read the street signs carefully. The lady who helped us was very friendly and welcoming. There were 3 set prices... $130, $160, $200. The difference between all 3 prices are the amount of flowers that will be on the spray. We chose the one @ $160 which is a great price. It will come with pink, lavender, and white flowers along with the string banner. You may choose the colors you want and they'll choose the flowers that correspond to the chosen colors. You may also have something written on the string banner as long as it fits. We paid cash for it. One of my other aunt also ordered from here same day. The lady waived the delivery fee since both of us ordered from here as a courtesy to us. Thank you so much miss! We appreciate it. I will keep them in mind for any future flower arrangement purchases.

Problem one: My family bought a memorial property at Glendale cemetery in December 2015 for my grandfather who suddenly passed away. Our family specifically ordered the traditional upright headstone. Chris, an agent worked at the location, promised our family that the headstone would be delivered in about four months. Four months later, he told us the delivery must be postponed due to some government regulation issues. We trusted him and waited nearly a year and finally became suspicious about the situation. We contacted this company, shockingly, an agent informed us that Glendale cemetery NEVER allowed having upright headstones; Furthermore, Chris was no longer working for their company. Upon several negotiations, my family had to go for the flat bronze grave marker, because we did not wish to "disturb" my grandfather. Problem two: Chris, the agent, SPECIFICALLY told us the memorial property was at a corner (because only corner locations can have upright headstone). After the flat grave marker for my grandfather was finally delivered in March 2017, guess what, we found the grave marker was in the middle section! Ironically, as we contact this Arcadia company, the corner property just being sold to another family, and the person was buried recently! All in all, funeral services should be honest, but this Arcadia third company of Forest Lawn is full of lies. Our family would never do business with them ever again!
