    Inside cheese calzone
    Ulyana K.

I'm surprised the place is so poorly rated. Yes, the seating isn't that great, and the atmosphere isn't either. But the food itself is quite good. Nothing amazing, but certainly not bad. I tried their plain cheese calzone and a brownie with caramel. The calzone was quite interesting. It's probably the greasiest calzone I've had in a while, but surprisingly, it was still really good. Most of the grease had already spilled out of the calzone by the time I bit in. It's topped with a ton of garlic, so the bread part tasted like garlic bread. It was really good. Plus, the calzone was stuffed with an adequate amount of cheese (mozzarella mostly, and a little bit of ricotta as well). Quite good. Portion size was great for the small, and price was around $14 so not too bad. Sauce on the side was sweet but cold when served. The brownie was really good. It was super fudgey and had large chunks of chocolate scattered throughout it. Very soft. It's absolutely delicious and honestly one of the best brownies I've had in a while. And, it's huge! It's like four brownies in one order for $5. All in all, I think this place is underrated. Atmosphere isn't the best, but the people are kind (they came out with my food while I was waiting in the car and were courteous). The calzone tasted like a garlic bread with cheese filling and brownie was amazing.

I like Fellinis this is not a slice it's almost criminal. What is this??

Fellinis does not know the size of a slice and I do wonder if the sizes in their pizza is a scam...look at this slice...and I don't have giant hands

14" pizza with garlic white sauce and chicken

Such a solid spot. Ordered medium garlic white sauce with chicken pizza. Service was so kind and personal. Place looked so classic, like from a recent homestyle bygone era. They've improved from whoever/whatever was going on a year or so ago.

    ham and cheese sandwich

I can't even call what I attempted to eat food. It even tasted worse than the picture looks

    Solid pie!

Yoli's Cucina and Crafthouse is located at the intersection of State Route 885 and Payne Hill Road. The building has been other restaurants in the past, but Yoli's has occupied the space for nearly a decade. It is very easy to locate from the road. There is a private parking lot as well. This is not a heavy business/commercial area, so it's very easy to park and navigate into the restaurant. My visit was on a Friday night this past August. We chose to come after seeing a Facebook post about "Friday Night Lights," which was extended hours on select Friday nights when the TJ High School Football Team was playing at home. My family and I attended the game, and usually will try to find a pizza place to go to afterwards. Since we saw the post for this, we decided to give it a try. We left the football game a little early, and arrived to the restaurant around 9:15 PM. Since the game was barely over, we were one of the first few groups in. The longer we were there, the more people filtered in from the game. It was not completely full though, so no problem getting a seat at a table or the bar. There are plenty of seating options. The dining room has many four-top tables, some booths, and bar-height four-tops surrounding the bar. Of course, there are bar seats. In the back, there are also several longer tables. I assume this room can be rented out and/or reserved, but on this night they had it open for dine-in. As advertised on Facebook, there was a special menu for this after-hours time. It was a limited menu with $10 Pizzas, $10 Yoli Rolis, and $3 White Claws and Domestic Bottles, plus other items. We were not given regular menus, but instead papers that had the limited menu printed. It listed all of the different items, however, it had no descriptions. This was an issue for us, since we were not regulars of the restaurant. Our server acted really strange about this honestly, and would not give us a regular menu to look at when we requested it for the descriptions specifically. So instead, we had to literally ask her what was in every single sandwich, what all of the toppings available for the pizzas were, and any other specifics about any items. I understand in theory why they made the menu like this, but it should have included item descriptions. It makes sense that they do not want customers trying to order off of the regular menu, since they are not serving everything. But, eliminating descriptions is an issue. This was the first "Friday Night Lights" of the season, so it is possible that this improved for other ones moving forward. Following that confusion about the menu, we placed our orders. Our food was ready in about 25 minutes. My mom and I split an 8-Cut Mushroom Pizza. My fiancé ordered The Baller, which was a half-size meatball hoagie with marinara sauce and melted provonello cheese. My dad ordered The Drunk Fish, which was a half-size Yuengling battered haddock with melted provonello cheese, house greens, and house tartar. Both sandwiches came with fries. We each enjoyed our food. The pizza was more than enough for the two of us, and we even had some leftover to enjoy the next day. It is not super thick, but it is not a New York slice, either. A good in-between. Both of the sandwiches were okay, but the portions with the fries were generous. I personally liked the fries. Overall, we had no real complaints about the meal. Everything came out in a timely manner and prepared well. The value of our meal on this night was great. Some of us got some drinks, but for the food it was only $30 before tax. Hard to beat that, especially considering it was four adults. I appreciate them having these specials! The staff here was average, all considering. As detailed, not being able to see the descriptions for the menu items was really bizarre, and unhelpful from a customer service perspective. Otherwise, we had no issues with the service or our waitress. I am glad I got the chance to dine in at Yoli's! As stated, I have had their pizza many times, but never dined in. We had a positive experience overall, but as detailed there are some areas for improvement, specifically relating to the limited menu/after hours events. I hope they continue to have success with these, and improve on them for the future. In an area with very few locally-owned restaurants, it is nice that Yoli's is around and continues to be successful. I hope to come back to try more of their menu on a typical business day, especially the Yoli's Rolis. I believe the "Friday Night Lights" is an incredible idea, and promotes a better community. If you find yourself in the Century III/South Hills area, definitely give this restaurant a try!

3.5 stars. Long, detailed review... Arlecchino Ristorante is a casual-elegant Italian restaurant…read morethat is uniquely inside a one-room schoolhouse that was built in 1907. This restaurant is open for dinner and catering for dining in and takeout. It has many of the same menu items as its excellent sister restaurant Alla Famiglia. Each meal includes bread and oil, optional appetizers (e.g., meatball and mussels diavolo), a first course of salad and pasta, the chosen main course (e.g., chicken marsala, cacciatore, veal chop, and filet mignon), and then if desired dessert. Alcoholic beverages (e.g., cocktails, wines, and beers) are also available. For my husband's and my wedding anniversary, I made a reservation for Arlecchino through OpenTable. We arrived shortly after they opened for the day. Our first impressions: Valet was required for our vehicle. We felt interested in seeing the exterior and remodeled interior of the schoolhouse. Most of the restaurant was empty then, but the seating hostess took us to the worst table--the smallest table inches from the front door. I requested a different table, and she then gave us a much better one. OpenTable had said that the dress code was business casual, but other customers wore casual clothes, and a hostess wore shorts and a baggy sweatshirt hoodie. Our names were written on a chalkboard above the kitchen and on my menu but not my husband's menu. Our waiter provided timely service and spoke courteously with us. (If you are wondering how to pronounce the restaurant's name, he told me something like are-lee-kee-no or our-lee-key-no.) Here are my ratings for what my husband and I ate: Autumn Spritz - 4 stars - This spritz contained apple cider, Marie Brizard Apry, prosecco, and soda, and I liked its flavors. Smoked Provolone - 2 stars - Smoked provolone was topped with black truffles and arugula. Neither my husband nor I liked this appetizer. I took two bites, and he tried to eat half. Casa Salad - 4.5 stars - This salad consisted of mixed greens, roasted peppers, raisins, walnuts, olives, gorgonzola, and slightly too much vinaigrette. Caesar Salad - 4.5 stars - My husband ate this salad, and he said that it was his favorite food in the entire meal. Cavatappi Alla Vodka - 4 stars - My husband ate this pasta, and I took one bite, and I thought that it tasted good. Cacio E Pepe - 4 stars - Months ago at Alla Famiglia, we loved the locatelli romano cheese wheel at the tableside, so we felt excited to try it at Arlecchino. The waiter definitely mixed the linguini, cream, oil, and pepper in the cheese wheel. This cacio e pepe tasted good but not as great as what we remember from Alla Famiglia. Halibut - 3.5 stars - My main course was this special menu item. The halibut tasted bland but was served with black-tiger shrimp, carrots, tomatoes, zucchini, cauliflower, and butternut squash that added some nice flavors. I did not know the price for this fish until I saw the bill, and it was $72. Veal monzu - 4 stars - The veal was nicely breaded and fried and topped with mozzarella, jumbo lump blue crab, pine nuts, and lemon butter. My husband ate it, and my one taste-test bite indicated that it was flavorful. My husband was not interested in trying dessert, so we skipped it. Our total bill was $178 plus tax, tip, and a credit-card surcharge. Comparatively, I think that Alla Famiglia has significantly better food, but Arlecchino is worth a try.

I really enjoy that the pasta is fresh and the menu isn't 40 pages long. It's straight to the point and you know what you're getting based on what is listed under the pasta shape. My short rib ricotta gnocchi was good but I do wish it had a bit more salt to bring more of the flavor to the front. The gnocchi texture was perfect and pillowy. The short rib mixed in nicely with all of the pasta and the sauce. My spouse enjoyed the cannelloni, which was pretty much their lasagna but also wanted a bit more salt. Our server was very nice and walked us through the menu options as well as told us about the seafood special for the night. The bread came out first and was delicious. The salad was also good and I don't usually like arugula. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and I enjoy that they take the time to do that. Spoiler: it's not the name. Clean, clear, smells like any other bourbon until that first sip reveals just how perfectly blended it is. The kind of drink you savor while watching the sun set on the horizon. Crème Brûlée Espresso Martini - As my heart rate settled from the first drink I needed something to kick it back up. One sip and I could've read the dictionary cover to cover without blinking. Close your eyes and the aroma takes you straight to that first cup of coffee fresh out of the pot. Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake Martini - Beautiful presentation but flatter in flavor than the previous two. However for a final cocktail that was exactly the point -- the perfect calm down after a rich and spicy meal. - Food: 4.25 / 5 Bread, Oil & Dip: A great palate cleanser that quickly taught me the chef loves his spices. The dip was described as "Italian Hummus" and if this is the standard I completely understand the hype. Appetizer - Ceviche Peruviano: Think of that forgotten appetizer thrown together last minute for a dinner party, a hodgepodge of raw fish and vegetables. But every bite delivers an explosion of complementary flavors, and that sneaky hint of spice hiding in the raw fish bites will wake you up immediately. Pre-pasta - Tuscan Kale Salad: Needed something to cleanse my palate after the spicy ceviche and frankly I am tired of Caesar salad. Not a kale fan normally because it tastes like dirt, but the lemon vinaigrette adds just enough flavor to make that dirt genuinely enjoyable. Pasta - Cacio E Pepe: Easily the highlight. My buddy describes it perfectly as fancy fettuccine. I have never liked fettuccine until now. My server, who prepared it himself, recommended adding house chili oil for a slight kick. I went one click past recommended and even then it was still divine. I would order it again without hesitation. Entrée - Veal Chop, Lobster Tail & Vegetables (Chef's preference): After riding Cloud 9 all evening I felt like Icarus flying too close to the sun. One word: bland. The veal was overcooked with all the flavor locked into the fat, and the lobster tail tasted like a convenience store impulse buy. The best use of those bones would be soup stock. I had no desire to finish it. Dessert - Tuxedo Crème Brûlée: As much as I wanted the house raspberry tiramisu I left the choice to my server after some back and forth. He recommended this for its balance of sweetness and berry bitterness and he was right. The perfect final note to tap out on. Service: 10 / 5 Even now, I still don't think I tipped my server enough. Dining alone, he made the evening feel like I had a companion at the table. Great conversation, personalized attention, and a level of service that few will ever experience. It was a pleasure to talk to someone who knows and appreciates food as much as I do. If you want an exceptional dining experience, request AJ as your server. I promise you won't be disappointed. Vibe: 5 / 5 Presentation, presentation, presentation. That is the theme every dish and the environment itself conveys the moment you walk through the doors at Alla Famiglia. This is a place for those who want to feel bourgeois for the night. Overall 4.25 / 5: My goal in life is to become a regular somewhere. There is something special about finding a place you love so much that every visit still feels like a new experience. Alla Famiglia is exactly that type of place. During my visit I was introduced to new items and dishes not listed on the menu, which only adds to that sense of discovery. It may be a while before I return since this place isn't cheap and my restaurant bucket list is long, but I will be back. Hopefully AJ is still there when I do, because that is exactly the kind of server you want in your corner as a regular. Recommend? Absolutely
