This was my favorite dinner from our trip in Cabo. We had a range of dinners from small local to expensive steak house. This was the most delicious for almost half the price of the steakhouse- so worth it! The food was delicious, servers very kind, and we got to eat dinner with the sound of waves in the background. It was quiet and beautiful especially in the evening. The appetizers were delicious with a solid tomato soup and some great salads. Cocktails were tasty and their wine selection of Mexico wines was so good it left me trying to find out if I could purchase them online to ship to the US. Dinner was the main show- with the flambé cheese wheel dinner as the best. They melted and mixed a medium sharp cheese wheel from Italy to create the sauce to be poured over the fettuccini. Then they had a show of pouring flaming home made limoncello back and fourth before being poured over the lobster and shrimp. Plus I got the opportunity to assist in the show, holding the flaming dish and pouring it out. This was the main restaurant at the Rose resort, and required an extra charge ($20 per person) even for "All-Inclusive" guests. Despite our annoyance with the charges, we went ahead and booked it. This turned out to be a rooftop restaurant, overlooking the Medano Beach (and Rose resort pool areas)...so quite scenic. However, the restaurant itself was quite skeletal in decor. I thought they could have added some warmth and decor...maybe even plants to lush things up a bit. So yes, a bit disappointed with the ambiance. Still, the ambiance was all about Cabo! As expected, the foods were upscaled Italian...and we tried some unusual dishes...like this Fungi Gnocci and Shortrib Risotto. Again, I could not keep up with the names of all these dishes, so unable to name the photos (Sorry again!). My big mistake was ordering one too much of the same. Turned out my soup was also Fungi...and basically, I felt a bit sick from eating so much Fungi! My husband ordered this seafood dish that looked delicious...but poorly presented. Just as with La Frida, the foods we really enjoyed were the desserts...both their version of Panna Cotta and this Raspberry Pastry thing my husband ordered were stellar! Overall, we enjoyed this restaurant...but anticipated to love it a tad more? Maybe I didn't order the best items on the menu (again, too much Fungi...and honestly, a bit lacking in flavor). Staff were friendly, but our dinner fell short of expectations. We had a 7:30 reservation. Appetizers didn't arrive until 8:30 and our meals came out around 9:30. We didn't leave until 10:30, and the restaurant wasn't even busy, so the delay didn't make sense. The food was average and not very filling. Had this for dinner on our last night in Cabo. The restaurant itself is beautiful! Wish I would have gotten some photos of that. The service was fantastic! The waiter was very friendly and attentive. Now the best part is the food! I had the fettuccine alfredo with chicken as my main, and their take on a caprese salad as the starter. The caprese salad blew my mind! And such a lovely presentation. The fettuccine was so creamy and delicious ! I would have liked it to have a bit more garlic flavor, but it's still outstanding either way! Like a lot of touristy restaurants in Cabo this place had potential, but fell a bit short. My friends and I made a reservation for dinner on our last night, although there were many available tables both indoors and out on the two decks. Note that the price of food was included in our all-inclusive stay, although there was a $20 per person charge... and wine costs extra. For drinks I went with a classic Margarita, which tasted similar to the sweet cocktails served by the pool. Sigh. I didn't want to pay more for wine so I sucked it up and sucked a couple down. They're not bad by any means, just not great. They brought out a bread basket with a variety of bread and oil to go with. We got a second round of bread for the three of us--probably a good call as the menu item serving sizes aren't huge. I wanted some greens so I ordered the Arugula Salad, which was small in size and a bit too oily for my taste. I wouldn't choose to order that salad again. For my entree I chose Rigatoni served with Pomodoro sauce, although after ordering they informed me that they were out of the rigatoni, so I opted for penne instead. The pasta was topped with thinly sliced basil as well as grated Parmesan?? Which I would have requested to omit if it were listed on the menu. The pasta tasted decent although it by no means was exceptional. They were kind to bring out a couple birthday Tiramisu slices for my friend's birthdays, although sadly I don't enjoy coffee flavored anything. (Not their fault, that's on my taste buds.) I did enjoy the decorative berries and treated myself to a few bites of the coffeeless flavored cream layers. We also tried a warm cinnamon apple dessert which was tasty enough. The view from the deck is pretty nice, although it can get windy/chilly out there so be prepared for that! Service was okay, it got a bit slow near the end but we didn't have much else planned for the evening. Overall I'd say it's not worth the extra $20 per person and there is better food/drinks in town. (Side note, one of my friends got pretty sick that night and we're not sure of the exact source of her upset stomach, although we didn't eat anything outside of the resort that day.) read more

We came here from Pueblo Bonita Pacifica which involved a long windy bumpy ride in a shuttle so cramped my knees hit the chair in front of me. So we were nauseous and didn't want wine, which was really a shame. The restaurant has a view if you sit outside but we did not. The service was very nice, though the pace is much slower than in the US. The bread was crusty with a lot of rosemary which I liked. I didn't care for the amuse bouche. The flavors were bland and earthy in a way I don't like. My husband ate his but turned down mine. We had the beef carpaccio and eggplant for appetizers, as well as the shortrib ravioli soup and the white asparagus soup. The beef carpaccio was very tender and the sauce on it was delicious. The eggplant was just ok...it was a large portion and the pieces were very thick so they weren't cooked well and raw eggplant is unpleasant. The soups were an unexpected delight! I regret not taking a video but they bring bowls with the solid portions neatly plated then pour the soup over with a flourish. The white asparagus soup was creamy and the flavors were delicate and intriguing. My husband liked it better than the beef broth over the ravioli, which I thought was also very good. Simple but delicious. The ravioli were strange and kind of dry but not bad. For entrees I had the lasagna bolognese and my husband had the shrimp which were in a light creamy sauce with shell pasta. I loved the lasagna which was rich and meaty and creamy. I make lasagne bolognese sometimes with homemade noodles and a three meat ragu and bechamel, but if I had a place that served lasagna this good nearby, I could save myself the trouble! As much as I loved my lasagne I kept taking fork-fills of my husbands pasta. The sauce was buttery but light and I loved the texture of the shells, and the fact that they were packed with capers. The shrimp were very flavorful too, not to mention huge. I had a little food envy, even though he shared. For dessert (even though we were stuffed) I got panna cotta and he got gelato. I'm so glad I got the panna cotta! I had a vile bite the other day of "panna cotta" at the buffet at La Nao and literally had to spit it out which almost never happens. This panna cotta was beautifully plated and was tasted like ice cream, packed with vanilla bean seeds and extremely satisfying. The strawberry preserves were very flavorful and were the perfect accompaniment. My husbands gelato was gelato. All in all a very nice experience and totally worth the $15 upcharge from our basic all inclusive. The ride to get there wasn't fun but it was worth it. Wish we could have had wine to go with the lovely meal. Delicious food. read more

I am reviewing Felini's which is in Pueblo Bonito Rose. What can I say except amazing view and food. Definitely sit outside, you have the best view to Land's End Arches. The Sunset is spectacular, pretty in pink is what I named the Sunsets in Cabo. I had the Octopus Carpaccio which was tender and Citrusy marinade which was great. I also had the Linguini de Mare which was also very good, but the winner was the Pork Shank which was slowly braised and was falling off the bone. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse and the Café Veneto. Both were delicious. The food, view and sunset could not be beat. The only review I could give the hotel itself is that it looked a bit congested and out of all of Pueblo Bonito's hotels this would not be the one that I would choose to stay in because it looks to congested, but 4 stars for Felini's. read more

This is Italian food done wrong. While the staff is incredibly attentive and friendly the flavors of the food or just average at best. We started with the burrata which was nice however our pasta dishes were bland, our steak was a little bit fatty and the tuna tasted like it had been frozen moments before it was cooked. We were so underwhelmed by the food that we decided to skip dessert and go out to the marina and get a churro. If you are used to good Italian food this may not be the restaurant for you. I think that Cabo is a city best for tacos and not fine dining. read more

The view, the staffing, the food is absolutely perfect! I honestly cannot remember the last time that we had such an amazing evening. I was lost for words with everything last night. One for the books. It's hard to leave a review like this cuz you'll expect the same and I truly hope you get it!! I honestly can't recommend this place enough. We made sure to leave a 20 dollars tip for Arturo!! Way to go Arturo!! If you have the chance to try this place please try it, you won't be disappointed. I wasn't expecting much especially because I didn't know how Italian fine dining would be in Mexico. But this restaurant became one of the highlights of our stay in Cabo! We ordered the beef carpaccio, black mussels in a white wine sauce, fresh catch of the day (think it was red snapper) with bay scallops, lobster tail, fettuccine alfredo, tenderloin steak, and wine. For dessert my friend and I ordered tiramisu and panna cotta. Keep in mind all this food was shared between 2 girls! LOL~ The lobster tail was FANTASTIC! It was one of the biggest and meatiest lobster tails I've had! It was so delicious and fresh! The picture doesn't do it justice honestly. We shared the lobster tail and still had a sizable portion each. Also, the black mussels were scrumptious as well as the tenderloin steak. Cuz we ate the mess out of this place! You won't find the best service, they were okay...slow at times but they try hard. Very nice and accommodating. You'll definitely find good food here. It's fine dining, so they said you'll have to dress up a little. We ate here 2x in our 3 days here. I cannot believe how good the food is compared to the nasty buffet food beneath. Do they share kitchens? Hopefully not, or maybe just better chefs. Anyways, we ordered almost the whole menu, always trying to sneak more food when we like something. They hated us because we probably almost ate them out business. Things we ate: 1. Octopus carpaccio: AMAZING! Unique, beautiful, great flavor 2. Beef carpaccio: quality meat, clean, fresh 3. Fried eggplant: one of the best fried eggplant app 4. Caesar salad: flavorful, they add bits of anchovy for that saltiness flavor 5. Prosciutto melon: prosciutto was cut too thick, some chewy parts, melon tasted like candy 6. Seafood risotto: very good, ask for a side of this with your main entree 7. Mushroom risotto: better than the seafood risotto, it had deep mushroom flavors, amazing 8. Mussels: broth was a little light, needed more flavor 10. Short rib soup: flavorful, fun way to eat soup 11. Grilled shrimp: big big shrimp, nicely grilled 12. Seared tuna: big chunk of seared tuna, good sear with a nice red on the inside 13. Steak: flat iron, even for the low end cut, steak was good and soft 14. Chicken piccata: the worst thing, skip at all cost, was just salt 15. Ossobucco: incredible! Meat fell off the bone, best dish there 16. Duck Confit: good, tender and flavorful 17. Frutti di mare: thick and rich white cream sauce 18. Panna Cotta: very sweet and good 19. Chocolate cake: chocolate cake was dry, but the raspberry gelato was amazing 20. Chocolate gelato: rich, creamy and good 21. As part of the Pueblo Bonito all-inclusive plan, we could eat here for an additional $10/person, so made a reservation (required) and had a lovely dinner here out on the balcony. Between the 6 of us, tried two salads - the Ceasar and mixed greens w/ strawberries, and 2 pizzas - the fig & arugula one and short rib one - and all were very good. We decided to splurge, and ordered a bottle of the L.A. Cetto wines from Guadalupe Valley, and (as expected) it was excellent. Was hard to go back to the house Cab and merlot after that! For entrees, the kids both had pasta alfredo, which were excellent; one had the duck ravioli, which was very good, the shrimp w/ lentils was unique; pork chop and chicken piccata - pretty good. Fellinis is located inside the Rose resort and serves up Italian dishes from its beautiful second story balcony. It costs a $10 surcharge with the all inclusive package, and it's pretty worth it. I wouldn't pay full price here, though. The wine is good, although not a lot of direction on the wine list. We blindly ordered a Pinot noir and a Malbec. They were good. We started with a beef appetizer that resembled tar tar and tasted like it but the server said it wasn't. The menu did not indicate it would be served raw or cold and our server could not really describe to us what it was. We weren't huge fans of it. The server recommended the short rib pizza. The short rib on it was delicious but the pizza was nothing special. We make one that tastes just like it at home in Texas. My wife got the seafood pasta. It was absolutely the best part of the whole meal. The scallops and shrimp on it were fresh, and the cream sauce was rich and delicious. I ended up eating more of hers than mine. This place is ok but I give it a strong three stars because the service was good and the seafood pasta was tasty. read more

Mostly good with some challenges. Lots of servers in the house with only a few diners. We sat on the terrace with a few other tables occupied. The whole time we were there, the main dining room was empty. The first two weeks of December in Cabo are kind of slow, but I assume it is slower now because of bad press with the cartel killings. Lots of reservations in Cabo have been cancelled. Two of us had Caesar salad which was wilted. The dressing of the salad was not Caesar either. Sent most of it back. We had to ask for our first basket of bread and each basket thereafter. Not good. Main course was excellent. I had the penne pasta Norma and it was very good. As we are owners at the Rose Fellini's is alway where we have a special meal. The restaurant is still beautiful and the waiters are very good. But the food has gone way down hill. We started with a salad. There were just a few tiny pieces of goat cheese and the other ingredients. Basically just lettuce. I ordered Cappellini Alla Carbonara with a poached egg. The noodles were undercooked, the edges crunchy and there was no egg to be found. I inquired as to where it was and the waiter got a bit snotty and said that it was mixed in. Not as presented on the menu. We also had Rissotto Chicken Breast. It was so salty it was not edible. They offered to replace it but at that point we were done. My husband and I had eaten here before and we were excited to go back. What a disappointment! They had changed the menu. I ordered a ribeye. It was recommended by the waiter. The first ribeye I received looked nothing like the sample dinner I was shown. It was very very thin and over cooked. I sent it back. They brought me another about 10 minutes later and it was blood red! I just wanted it cooked medium but clearly the chef had no idea. We were both so disappointed.
