The road to get up the hill is very narrow that we almost missed it bec it looked like a driveway. The cement structure was so sleek and modern, yet it was in the middle of this farmhouse kind of area... it was a little shocking, in a good way. I feel bad taking off stars because I actually loved the wine at Storrs, but for the cost of the wine tasting per person, I was astonished at how TINY the pours were. We are talking the tiniest sip. You don't even have enough to swish it in your mouth to get a good sense of the wine on your palette. We thought we were being "punked", except every pour was this miniscule. There is also a strict no outside food policy here, yet they don't sell food. This is a big downside for me because I find drinking wine a great opportunity to sit back and relax with friends, and that includes munching on some food! Counter space was very cramped in the tasting room, and no one greeted us or acknowledged that we entered the building even. We just walked around for awhile until we found a tiny corner to insert ourselves. The set up isn't ideal for when there are multiple groups inside. There are tables in an outdoor patio and one long table indoors, but with the tasting pours being half a sip, you really don't need to sit down. So this is a big downside for me. The wine is delicious, so I think it's worth tasting and buying some wine here. My tip is to go on an off day so you can get better customer service and maybe get more than a 0.00001 ounce pour. However, a couple times in the…read morelast few weeks, I've purchased a $1 super lotto from a pre-filled slip, and a beverage, when a particular guy is working there. Brown short hair, clean shaven, kind of slim, maybe 5'10", in his 20s or 30s. Both times he said, with a totally straight face: $20 for the lotto (which was actually $1 if you recall), and then whatever the price of the drink was. And quickly doing the math in his head, he verbally added $19 dollars to the grand total without missing a beat. When I looked at the register seeing the real total (which of course was $19 less than what he said), he deadpanned "just kidding". He did this exact same thing to me two different times in the span of a couple weeks. Seems very sketchy. Benefit of the doubt: I suppose he really could've been "just kidding", but if so, not funny at all and pretty poor taste to be trying that joke on paying customers that you don't know. Especially if you have no comedic demeanor or delivery with it. Keep an eye on this guy.
