Great selection of Whiskey, Whisky and Bourbon, including a variety of Japanese and at least 1 Taiwanese. Overall impressed.

(We're talking the Capitola location here. Ben Lomond is good too, with a totally different vibe, but the Felton location sucks) Love this liquor store for decades now. Really great selection of craft beers. Especially for Felton, a pretty small town. I stop here each time I hike in Henry Cowell nearby. Sure, the selection isn't like Total Wine, but for a small liquor store the selection is stellar. read more

We are Fans for Decades...Back in the day...we spent summers in Felton and our parents shopped at the well loved, well stocked wonderful Verutti's. It is the Best - more than just a Liquor Store...love that it is Family owned - unique - high quality - wide variety - great service-store. We knew Pat when he was a teen -a great guy who sets a high bar. No pun intended... WE drop in and shop - superlative wines - great prices. They carry Mariannes ice cream pints.. what else can I say. The beer and wine selection is extensive and a lot of local stuff. They carry a few local vodkas as well that are well priced. Snack section is decent. We come here for lottery reader. All the mixers you need are here. The staff is very knowledgeable and super friendly. They are good about keeping kooks and sketchers out. They are very strict about Covid precautions. So don't be a kook. Easily the best liquor store on our East Side. read more

I was too busy reading the mask mandate signs and the arrows on the ground (to make sure I'm following directions) to see the STOP sign, so when I entered the store, the young guy working said "that's why we have a stop sign at the front door, so you can stop and I can direct you in in case we're too busy". The way he said it was very rude and condescending. I would say even embarrassing. It was a mistake on my part cuz I was reading all the other 100 signs, but he didn't have to be rude about it. In the times of Covid I called Veruttis to order ahead. We picked up the items with no problems and the staff, ie Trevor, was friendly accommodating, and efficient. He did our shopping for us so that all we had to do was pick up the items. And, they will bring to your car. Signs indicate that you Must Wear A Mask when entering, which we so appreciate. The old man couldn't sell me a bottle because he claimed that my ID was fake bc I lost weight and "didn't look like the photo" even though my ID is not expired and has a chip to scan. He threatened to call the cops. What a joke if an employee to have. read more

Sorry Verutti's, I think you're a cool store. You have some decent hard liquor prices, and your staff is friendly. However there's one major, huge issue at Veruttis- they have tons of expired 22oz beers. For example, and this is just one example, my last bottle of Double Jack was literally 2 years old, are you kidding me? It had completely skunked. This actually happens a lot. It almost seems like they buy near-expired beers to save on cost and then as they sit on the shelf they just get terrible. Always check the dates on the bottles. If you drink a lot of IPAs I'm sure you are familiar with Stone Enjoy By. For the uninitiated, this is simply a hoppy double IPA that needs to be enjoyed by the date on the label for the best experience. Verutiis, as of a week or two ago, had a few Enjoy Bys that were totally expired. I asked about it and they just shrugged and didn't seem to care. If you really like beer this is not the place to go. Unfortunately I will not be going back after too many negative experiences. read more

Strong five stars. Not like people are looking at Yelp to find their local liquor store, but nevertheless. Sooo much liquor, beer, and wine in such a small area. The staff is really friendly, especially if you come in often. Cool to see a bunch of dudes that are chill, listening to their favorite music, facilitating your buzz for the evening. Good deals are always going on, so before you waste your time and money at Safeway or retarded Albertson's, go to Verutti's and experience a decent selection and great deals all-the-time. Case-in-point: Anejo Patron 750 for 29.99 at one point. You'll find random stuff like that if you keep your eyes open. read more

This is THE BEST liquor store in town- I used to work in the wine industry and know how to bargain shop, typically liquor stores are unable to compete with the sale pricing of the major chains. Verutti's, I don't know how youse done it BUT I KNOW YOUSE DONE IT!!! These guys have un-paralleled beer selection at a better price than Bev-No- no bull. I relinquished my Bev-No! card once I found this spot. Occasionally they have some amazing finds in the wine as well, gotta keep your eyes peeled though... Their tunes remind me of when I used to drink illegally and the dudes running the place are awesome. Anecdote: One evening I picked up a go-to favorite: Stone Brewery Pale Ale sixer. (super hoppy, balanced flavor- a damn fine brew) I brought it to the register and the Bro behind the counter pulls a bottle from the pack, inspects the Alcohol content and blurts, "This stuff's pretty weak!" He may not be the designated connoisseur of the establishment but dammit- he had my best interest at heart! Good boys, great tunes, giggidy G-D great booze! read more

Yes!!! I get to be the first to write a review for the place I used to work at and still love to shop at (notice the disclosure: I USED TO WORK HERE AND WILL BE BIASED). This place has a great selection of cheap beer, microbrews, wine, and liquor. The guys that work here are a great bunch too; please don't rob the place, it ruins the employees' night. But what other liquor store can you go into and hear the random music that is always playing on the radio; I miss working there and playing DJ. And the best news of all is that the place is expanding and will soon be much easier to walk around in. Verutti's is the only liqour store in Santa Cruz with prices that will meet or beat the big supermarkets, so check them out. In closing, please don't rob the place it ruins the employees' night, but you can buy liquor from them for cheap and cigarettes too. read more

I love this liquor store. Don't go to Bevmo, go here! They have an amazing selection and you are in and out way faster too! Also they have w-ay better prices, that beat the big stores and much better service too. I called up Bevmo to order a couple of kegs and was treated like an absolute idiot and obnoxious bother over the phone. They pissed me off so bad, I asked myself why didn't I just call up Verutti's?! I placed an order for two mini kegs of German lager, Bitburger, that I actually wanted, and ordered a case of another German lager (Kostritzer) for my husbands birthday, which left me feeling much better about the party I am hosting. I had an unusual experience at Verutti Liquors...I had chosen some items and brought them to the counter to purchase. My daughter had asked for a Monster drink, but I didn't realise how expensive they are, so I found myself a little short on funds. I went to put something back. The nice guy behind the counter asked, "How much do you have?" I was short about a buck. The guy reaches into his pocket, takes out his own money, and pays the difference! I was so grateful! It was little more than 90 cents, but it meant a whole lot to me. I really value great customer service and friendly, courteous employees. You will find that at Verutti Liqours. We stopped here on our walk up and down 41st to cash in some loto tickets. It is a very clean store with a great selection such friendly employees. Regardless if you are a regular or not, they always engage in a bit of conversation and I would not hesitate to come back here next time we have a beer run when in town. Really solid locally-owned booze merchant. They don't have everything and the atmosphere is not for everybody, but you can't beat the prices- especially on big brands. They make the bevmo look like a joke and maybe U-Save has more to offer if you want drive across town, but Verutti's has a lot of happy customers for a reason... read more
