I have worked a customer service manager in Lux retail for over 20 years and if my staff every treated a customer how I have been treated, they would no be working for me anymore. The rules of consigning changes depending on who answers the phone. 3 weeks after I dropped off my items it took them 20 minutes to even find my account. I am so confused about the payouts. I dropped my stuff off the middle of May, did not go on the floor until the middle of June. First check was at the end of July. I was told July 26th that I had $30 on my account but when I asked what my Check would be in August, I was told nothing and I would have to wait until September. I just called September 18th and I was told that I missed the 15th cut off so I would not get a check until October! WHAT! They have no clue what they are doing and will just argue! I'm done and can't wait until this nightmare is over! read more

This is a great little store that has been in this area for a while. Very welcoming, clean and have some very friendly staff. It's catered to women with some very good used designer accessories,clothing, shoes and bags that have been lightly worn. Codes on back of tags will give you a better savings depending on the date. I have shopped here for a while and never seem to be able to pass it up when I'm in the area and I'm always impressed with the items I find. This store surprised me. Initially, after reading all of the great reviews, I was somewhat disappointed. Maybe this was due to its small size or my first selection (dresses) to browse through. However, my feelings changed after I was there for a while. Pros: 1. Their pricing system. I love the way that they date the price tags (the initial price is in bold on both sides, but on the back of the tag, they have ingeniously added a discount system based on how long the item has been there - each discount taking place after 30 days, and further discounts up to three months, or up to 50% off, by the end of 90 days). I loved this, because I found some things that seemed like a good deal, but once I flipped that tag, I realized that I could take off up to half of the price as well! Some, but not most, of the items also included what the value of the item would be if purchased new. I wish they included that on everything, but that would be unrealistic. 2. Quality. This consignment/resale location really stood out to me in the care that was obviously taken in picking out the individual items on the racks. The quality seemed substantially above par here compared to other consignment stores. This is probably in part due to their size. 3. Customer service. The woman behind the counter, as well as the other (owner) lady that came in later, were both very helpful and professional. I heard the first lady going through some clothing a regular brought in and she was very well versed in, shall we say, diplomacy. She was able to take many of the items, but was very tactful about the ones they did not take, and did not make it sound as though the items were inferior or bad items. She was also quick to compliment individual pieces. Women can take these things very personally! 4. Fair prices. Most of these items are designers of the highest quality (although, I was impressed that they included high quality items of all kinds, regardless of the name on the tag - another indicator that they valued quality of each item of clothing above all else), many of which will have a fairly hefty price tag to match. If you compare the prices to the item when it was first purchased however, the prices are quite good. I saw a Marc Jacobs bag that was marked at about 250.00 dollars, but the bag would probably sell for 800.00 to north of a thousand dollars brand new, for instance. The pricing also seemed consistent and not as arbitrary as some places. 5. Variety. For the amount of items that they have on the floor, the diversity in styles, sizes, and pricing was pretty impressive. They offer sizes from about a size zero to fourteen, with the most plentiful sizes probably in the 2-10 range. CONS: 1. No men's section. I read a prior review that stated this store does not offer men's clothing. This is almost true. I thought it a bit odd, but they actually have a small section of men's tops. No pants! For such a small fraction of items geared toward men, I'm curious as to why they bother with this section of clothing (there might be a grand total of 50 men's shirts of varying styles and sizes)... 2. Physical size of the location. The store itself is not very big. I took my time and went through everything within an hour - including trying on several items. That said, I would rather see a store with organization and great quality over a larger selection of less quality and attention to detail. There are plenty of resale shops that cover the latter, in my opinion. 3. Fairly limited range of sizes. Although they do cover most sizes, the women that will benefit the most from this store will be the ones that tend toward the more "average" height, weight etc. Again, I think this is due to the size of the store and number of items. I am a size 4, and I was probably one of the most popular sizes as far as selection, with perhaps 80% of the items falling in the size 2-to-10 range (and a 5'2" to 5'7" average height). Shoe sizes seemed most plentiful from size six to ten. Just keep in mind that the sizing distributions are only my personal observations, so I wouldn't be surprised if these fluctuate over different times! I have to say I was pleasantly surprised and impressed overall with this store. I would happily recommend it and will probably be back when I'm on that side of town again! *** I asked about selling items there (this is consignment, not on-the-spot sales!) and this is what the owner said: 1. For your first sale, you need to bring in at least 15 items that THEY WILL TAKE - not just 15 items total. After you have an account with them, there is no minimum number of items you can bring in. 2. This place is actually a really great place to thrift shop for designer goodies. Lots of gently used designer bags, Chanel & Ferragamo heels, and pretty vintage jewelry. I found a great pair of Joe's Jeans leggings that was brand new from Neiman Marcus. Super cheap and it fit perfectly on me! The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The store is very clean and well kept. I especially love that it doesn't smell old and used in the store, so it doesn't make you feel germaphobic. read more

Do not shop here unless you like old lady clothes. I went in to consign some high fashion, less than a year old items only to be told that they do not take most of the items I had brought. I asked why and they said that theirs do not buy these "type of items". So on the way out I looked around and sure enough it's because its all OLD LADY and or CHEAP crap. Other than maybe one or two designer bags, this store has nothing for anyone under the age of 50. They wonder why the store is always empty??? They took the items I wanted to purchase to the register while i finished dressing. I saw the three ladies huddle at the register - when I was given the total it had double. First, I'm not giving One Star because I did find a couple of well priced items I purchased here. So it's not totally without merit. But, I left the store a couple hours ago, and I had to give myself a couple hours to calm down before writing this review. My selling experience was terrible. I do not recommend this place for any high value items. I signed up with the shop to sell a pair of knee high Jimmy Choo boots. In the several months they were there, I stopped in twice. Each time, I could barely locate them as they were up on a shelf, and in one case, behind Christmas decorations. I'm guessing they thought they were making them "top shelf" when in fact they were making them unnoticeable. So the boots didn't sell... Not a big deal, I went to pick them up. I'll sell them on the internet elsewhere or something. When I dropped off the boots, they were in the original Jimmy Choo store bag, with the original box and felt boot bag. When I picked them up, they were handed back to me in a friggin' paper Central Market shopping bag instead the Jimmy Choo box/bag I had brought them in. I. About. Died. Never was I told they were not going to keep the box/bags with the boots or I sure as heck would have taken them with me. Something else that is pretty frustrating... The employees are not empowered to make any decisions or be helpful outside of processing a purchase. I ran into this multiple times when calling to ask questions. Only the owner can actually facilitate anything more than a simple sale. So now, I'm waiting while the owner is out of town, in order to find out what happened to the box/bags for my boots. Which they say they didn't keep. Who throws out a Jimmy Choo box when they have Prada and other boxes decorating the store?! Sorry... I'm getting worked up again. I'm done ranting. Over-long story short, sellers be aware. If you bring something in with your item, you're not going unlikely to get it back. I wish someone had told me. read more

A few months ago I took several items of clothing and jewelry to Feminine Fashions for consignment and I had a very poor experience with this shop. My contract was supposed to expire in July and only last week did they allow me to pick up my unsold items and payment. The shop is extremely difficult to deal with for many reasons - one of which is apparently only one woman knows anything and she is rarely available to answer phone calls or respond to e-mails. When I finally was allowed to pick up my unsold articles I was not given all my items and when I asked for payment I was shorted. I reviewed the entire list of sold items and explained what was missing and that I expected payment if my items were not returned. The shop had somehow "lost" a very high value pair of shoes and finally just paid me for them. The whole experience was distasteful. I was unimpressed with their inventory, their prices, and their staff. I would not recommend doing business with this store. read more
