Here's the short version: After they did one fence I had them come back for a second fence and a ton of concrete work. I don't invite people back who do a bad job. Especially when we're in the five digit job range! --- Our fence blew over in the winter storms of 2022/23 and our neighbor found Julio at Fence Bldr. She said he was nicer, more professional, and the same price as another well known fence company but offered a MUCH nicer fence in the end. I liked Julio enough that before he even started the first fence install I had him quoting on the fence on the other side of our home that was also failing. I learned he did concrete flat work too and figured I'd ask him for a quote on that too. We already had a quote for the concrete from another company. Julio knew his stuff well and was able to once again offer us much more quality (and size) than the first company for a similar price. Julio impressed me enough that I signed the bids for the second fence and a whole lot of concrete work (14 cubic yards) before the first fence was even done. I knew I could back out if the first fence turned out badly, but I didn't back out at all! We had other work on our pool equipment to deal with, and a pool leak that delayed things over a month. But through it all Julio was professional and accommodating to the multiple delays I had due to the leak and even a complete swap in the order of installation. I don't think I ever had to wait more than a few hours to receive a response to a question I had, including nights, weekends, and holidays. That's definitely a very good and sadly unusual thing nowadays. In the end we're quite happy with our new fences, gates, concrete patio, ramps and steps. The concrete crew added details that we didn't even think of that made it look much better than planned and fit in with our existing concrete even nicer. All of the fence and concrete crew guys were very nice too. The big bill at the end of it all wasn't what Julio quoted - it was CHEAPER than what he quoted. That says a whole lot to me that he didn't just pocket the difference, but instead was honest when he took off an unneeded part of the fencing price. That definitely didn't happen with the other contractors I was working with at the same time for the pool stuff! I don't expect I'll need fence or concrete work for a long time since they did such a good job (choose the steel fence post option!), but I'll be calling Julio again if I think of something else to add, or I move! read more
