I would give 0 stars but it won't accept that. My van broke down Sat around 11:00 pm -ish. Fender's was available to come right away , which was nice. I was quoted $180 for a tow to Milford. Both the owner & I ( while on the phone) checked the mileage for the quote. The guy shows up and tells me to drive my van to the tow yard because it's tall on the tow truck and there are low bridges. I was hesitant and he was insistent. He is so insistent he gets into my truck to start it to confirm I can drive it - thus making his job easier. (I called a tow truck because I was worried about damage if I continued to drive the van). I did not want to drive this van. He says it's six blocks and is insisting. I say I will follow him and off he goes to 471. Well I know that's not going to be six blocks so I u- turn. He ends up coming back and towing it. The price jumps to $240 and they tell me the tow must've been more miles- total BS, we checked that together before I agreed to the tow. They charged me more because I wanted a tow from that location rather than driving to the tow yard. Then the van which was supposed to be dropped off on Monday day does not make it to my repair guy until Tuesday night or Wednesday. The final ridiculous development occurred when Fender could not reach me for a couple hours ( I was working) and AMAZINGLY Fender called my mechanic and had the nerve to ask them to pay my tow! Are you kidding me?!? Why didn't they call my mom too!?!? This company has no sense of professionalism. This is some kinda bootleg, backwoods, operation. Dont use these people. Their bread is buttered by picking up your illegally parked car for the city of Newport and private property owners. They have no interest in helping average people by proving quality service. They do not deserve any stars at all. My car died at Krogers at 11:00am. I called my insurance roadside assistance to Have my car towed. They sent a text that they would be here at 12:21pm. Time passes then got an update saying they were running late postponed til 100-115. It's 145pm Called back. "Oh I'm just turning in be right there in a minute. Another 10 mins come and goes. What a total raquet. Our car broke down at 7:30pm on the 471 bridge. Newport police required we cancel the tow truck we called and use Fenders Towing. We attempted to pick up the car that same night. Fenders wouldn't allow us to pick it up until after 9 AM the following day. We had to have a notarized release from the Newport Police Department to get our car back. We were charged $95 for the tow and $30 storage fee for the night, so a total of $128 with tax. This is highway robbery and what seems like collusion between the public and private sector. We had a car towed after a fender bender and were given no other choice on towing services. They towed the car without any further instructions on where it was going and what to do next. They towed it a total of one mile and kept it for roughly 24 hours. The total they charged was over $200. DO NOT USE!! read more

HORRIBLE!!!!!! I had a call into my insurance agency and they found Fenders. I was told that the arrival time would be within 75 mins. At this point it was 630pm. I then received a text from them at 750pm stating that they were canceling my service because they were not able to make contact with my roadside service. When I asked why I wasn't contacted sooner, they said that they were trying to call the insurance company to let me know. The driver apparently called in sick. I was then told to contact my local police department and have them call their tow company. So instead of contacting me directly when they knew the tow driver was not coming out they waiting an hour to finally contact me to tell me they were not coming out. I then had to contact another tow company and wait another hour for them to come. So thanks to Fenders I had to wait 4 hours to get towed. read more

Called to have my truck towed at 615 driver shows up at 930. Gave him keys and his payment to take my truck to the dealership. Next morning I call dealership they say truck is NOT there. I franticly call fenders. Lady said they got busy and took my truck back to there shop and is towing to dealership today. It's noon the next day!!!! Missed my apt so now have to get a rental. Can't believe what just happened. I called for a towing service through Verizon Roadside Assistance. They were sending a tow from Fender's Wrecker Service in Newport, KY. Said the wait would be 60 minutes. After I waited until over 90 minutes (1 1/2 hours), I called Fenders to see where the driver was. She said he was "on his way and should be there any second". 15 more minutes and still not here. I called Fenders back. She said "he is on his way and should be there any second". I asked if he couldn't make it, should I get another service. Her immediate response was "I'm cancelling the service" I said not to cancel, I still need the tow, just want to know if he is going to get here. Again, she said "I'm cancelling. You said you were getting another service." I said I still need a tow and don't cancel. I will call verizon and they can handle it. She again, said "I'm cancelling" and hung up. So, here I am more than 2 hours later with no tow. Are you kidding me? Was I frustrated? You bet. But never unreasonable or irate. She, on the other hand was very short with me and rude, did not try to handle the situation or even understand my perspective sitting with my car waiting for over 2 hours. Called Verizon. They said they got the cancellation and Fenders told them I cancelled. Not true. Filled out a complaint with verizon. Sending another service. Verizon was great. ABC Towing showed up within 20 minutes. Driver was great. Service was outstanding. Guess who you should never use for towing? And, by the way, after telling many people about my horrible experience with Fenders, I found out that this is not uncommon with them. Please just don't "take it" when you get bad service. There are many good, honest and ethical people that want your business. Stand up to the one's who treat you terrible and support the one's that do a great job! Fenders is the WORST towing service I have ever had to deal with. This towing service was hired by my apartment complex to tow unauthorized vehicles and their number was given to all residents to utilize when the office is closed. I tried on multiple occasions to use this towing service when excessive parking violations were occurring and nothing was done. Larry also LIED to me, telling me that he was puling into the complex when he never actually came. This is so unprofessional and a business that straight up lies to its customers should be closed immediately. I will be speaking to management. read more

Horrible place with 0 ethics. Would not even give one star if possible. Was told 2 different prices for them taking my vehicle. Charges for the tow, seperarte charge for LABOR(?? Isn't that the tow??) Oh and storage...haha. One overnight and picked up the next morning scores you TWO storage fees, then you get slapped with a FRANCHISE FEE (???!)..then 3% of the whole total with tax for using a debit or credit card. Worst possible customer service. After being quoted 1 hour for an emergency tow we waited over three hours and after numerous calls to the company-who told us 'driver is en route, expect service within 20 minutes' At the four hour mark we called (again!) to ask what was going on and were CUSSED OUT by their 'customer service agent' and then hung up on. My classic car was towed as a result of a 72 hour parking law in Newport Ky. I was not aware of any such law, but I found out the hard way. There was no warning, or ticket with information. They just towed the car. I guess you can't go out of town, or on vacation, and leave your car. This is a city, where the only parking is on a PUBLIC STREET! This business (Fenders Towing) is running a scam as a 3rd party leech for the city. They charged me $315 to get my classic car out of impound.. $315.00!! The car was there for only 1 day. This is outright price gouging, and you have no option but to pay it, or they charge you $90 a day on top of their ridiculous fees. They also did some damage to my car. It's not meant to be towed.. What's to stop this business from calling in anonymously and reporting cars that they know sit for days at a time? Then they can rip off anyone else with a bill over $300.00... Larry (the tow truck driver) was parked blocking an entire street, with his driver side door open. I pulled up expecting him to get back in his truck. However, he appeared in the driveway next to me and proceeded to berate me in front of my child. He called me every name in the book. I backed up and waited patiently for him to leave. A few minutes later he flipped me off and drove off. Running red lights to get a way from me because I had asked his name during our exchange and his reply was "My name's Larry M****r F*****r. I had to follow him all the way to a dealership to get his information. When I called to report his awful behavior the lady that answered the phone said I was at fault and he is the best employee they've ever had. He has been there for fifteen years. I can't believe in this day and age Larry is employable. Good luck Fender's. You're going to need it judging by the previous reviews I've read. Good luck Larry. read more
