Four of us had dinner before the hockey game. I felt rushed to order by the waitress. Two of us asked for blue cheese dressing on the side. When our meals came they did not bring it. Requested it again to the waitress, who told the manager who had brought the food out. Had to make two more requests. This is a lovely Pub located right in the Queensbury Hotel. I was already staying at the Hotel for a meeting the next day so it was the perfect place for dinner. This is definitely a lively place with a lot of electricity in the air. It is very bright during the day time hours thanks to the walls of windows all around. We were a fun group of six and really enjoyed the venue. Our server came over as soon as we sat to take drink orders and see if we had any menu questions. The menu is simple and ordering was just as easy. Many of us ordered burgers... I went with the the Hometown Burger w/cheddar and caramelized onions and fries. This was good tasty fresh burger. MY wife had the French Dip which she really enjoyed. Nice tender beef with plenty of flavorful gravy. Other friends had the Reuben, which was obviously well known here and truly enjoyed it. I've been to Fenimore's 2 times this summer. Both times the food was under par - last time french fries were barely fried. Service and bar manager - great. The place gets very loud, so you end up having to shout to your dinner mates. read more

I've always loved the Queensbury hotel during the holiday season. Between the ambiance of the hotel with the piano player in the grand entrance/lobby, the spectacular Christmas decor and the old time charm. So Saturday night, we were up in the area, stopped by to see the hotel. There was limited parking as it appeared to be having an event or two going on. Upon looking at the menu for park 26 we realized that Fenimore's had a similar simple menu and was more casual instead of a fine dining experience. Small tight entryway from the hotel lobby, smaller restaurant with multiple style tables and no "host". A waitress did acknowledge us and asked how many guests, we had 4 plus a highchair. We waited only about 5 minutes for her to clean off a table and we're sat. Once sat it did take a while for her to come over and get our drink order. I noticed that it was only two waitress running all the tables in the place. Okay drink selection between beers, wines, specialty cocktails offered and seasonal to choose from. Ordered apps: mozzarella sticks and Brussel sprouts (see pictures) which came out shortly. Ordered the fried chicken sandwich with fries and a salad and a hamburger with fries for dinner. Food was scrumptious . Portion sizes were more than expected for the price. The waitress forgot the salad, and taking a while to get our drink order in so that is why -1star. Love this place though. Would recommend to anyone that wants a little night out with their hubby or family/friends with a little old time charm to go visit. Staying at the hotel in which Fenimore's is located, we had an early dinner there this evening. I had the burger with fries. My partner had the salmon with cream sauce. She liked her salmon. Both the fish and the flavor of the sauce. Felt the potatoes were a bit undercooked and could have had a bit more of the veg. My burger was terrible. By color it may have been medium, however it was chewey and flavorless. The lettuce that was on it looked like it was leftover from someone's salad that had been sitting out for awhile. Really should have taken some photos. Our (not very attentive) server compensated by taking 10% off our bill. But, she didn't seem to really care. Expected much better. read more

We've been here twice in the past month. Both times the food has been good. We've had the cranberry chicken salad sandwich, harvest salad, crispy chicken sandwich, and the lemon créme brûlée. It's been a few years since I had the chance to eat at the Queensbury Hotel and I wanted to check out the renovations I'd heard so much about. Additionally, I'd seen a steady lunch service on the patio and thought the more quiet side street location would be preferable to the more busy main streets of our small city. The interior is lovely, but more importantly, the service and food was great! We all had salads and were impressed with the variety of options. Both the generous seared salmon and crab cake were cooked to perfection. Our server, Megan, was very attentive, checking back on us to top off our drinks and willingly split our bill, even though we were late to make the request. Prices are in the moderate range and because of the quality of the food, it's well worth the price. I will be going back soon to try the 26 Park dinner options. read more

I've ordered the same lunch for the past 3 months. Small Fenimore's salad, toast, and 1 glass of wine. It was terrific. Perfect taste, size, and price for a leisurely solo outing. On a recent trip ( no more than 5 miles from my house ), I ordered my usual. I was told the crostini wasn't available anymore, but I could get some bread on the side. I thanked the server and shortly thereafter my salad and bread arrived. The salad had changed. There was a lot of lettuce mix, a handful of tiny peanut tomatoes (halved), a handful of radish slivers and literally one (1) sliver of carrot the size of my pinky nail. There wasn't even close to the right amount of dressing they topped it with. I was disappointed, but whatever. Then the bill came. I was charged the price of a full salad, still, whatever...and then a $5.00 side charge for the bread. That's when I got pissed. That's literally $2.00 per slice plus tax and tip for bread. Miniature teensy white bread. Maybe an inch, 1.5 inch in size. Anyway, that's when I got pissed. Perhaps the waiter figured I was an out of town guest he could price gouge and that I wouldn't know the difference or care. Either way he won't ever see me again. My aweful salad, side of bread, and glass of wine set me back about $40.00. I like to support local but I will try the unlimited soup and salad and bread!!! at OG and walk away happy for half that. The Cranberry Chicken Salad and Honey Stung Crispy Fried Chicken sandwiches were both delicious. The waitstaff and bartenders were very attentive and friendly. We were at the Queensbury Hotel in their Warren Room for a Celebration Of Life gathering, following the passing of a beloved family member. Although it was a solemn occasion, as with most "weddings and wakes" there was an opportunity to see family and friends that we hadn't seen in quite a while (especially after the last 20 months or so of self-isolation for most of us) and this day was no different in that regard. As the afternoon progressed, many of us began filtering into Fenimore's to grab a cocktail or beer or a soda and by the time the "official" gathering ended, those of us who'd been visiting and reminiscing had filtered into the pub for the remainder of the early evening. I can't speak to the quality of the food because we'd all had something to eat at the earlier gathering, but I can say with confidence that the bar staff and the waitress who'd been taking care of us all day were fantastic. First up was Derrick(sp?) and I never did catch the gentleman's name who came on after he did, but both of them were very warm, kind and attentive and from what I was told, both made excellent cocktails - especially the Moscow and Kentucky Mules, based on the number of them that I saw being made AND consumed. (I stuck w/the diet soda since I'm taking some medications that do not play well with alcohol!) Overall, it was a memorable afternoon and early evening of catching up and reminiscing with longtime friends and much-loved family members. I'd go so far as to say that it truly turned out to be a celebration of life for all of us, for many reasons. All in all, I can't stress enough that we felt as though we were treated with immense warmth and respect and were given a sense that we were welcome to stay as long as we wanted - or needed to. That's not so much the case these days where we're all so busy and in such a hurry to get from point A to point B. And since we're locals, my husband and I will most definitely be returning in the near future to put their food (and drinks) to the test. read more

I have been staying at the queensbury for over 20 years, and when the new owners took over this year I must say it was night and day. When I got to fenimores the other day I noticed the big changes right away from the food to the new floors. The old bar was sticky and nasty and was like no one from the old hotel staff cared about it, the carpet smell like it's been in a train station. But now that the new owners has done away with all of that it is really a beautiful bar and that will make me come back for another 20 years!. The bar manager mike is a great guy and knows his shit bringing the new age and flare to the place. The chef of the hotel has brought high brow food to this awesome bar!!. The bartender Eli is very quick knowledgeable about drinks and just a pleasure to have as a bartender, I wish this new hotel administration would promote this good guy. But overall experience with the new hotel bar, food, goodtime, that's why I gave it 5 stars!!. Ordered dinner and 2 cocktails from this restaurant while staying at the hotel. The server was overheard telling an older couple that they sometimes overcharge customers that are drinking. I sat for an hour or so and listened to a guitar player while eating and sipping slowly. When I decided to leave, I received my check and I was charged an additional $18 charge on the bill. I pointed this out to the server and she stomped away. When she came back with the correct bill, she stood next to me with her arms crossed and waited. So I crossed off the tip area and she then called me a bi***. I went out for a walk and when I came back to my room I had been charged a $159 hold, even tho the front desk told us since the room was free, we wouldn't be charged unless we got room service. I spoke to a very rude manager and the room hold was taken off and then re charged $109 the next mornin. Both the hotel and reaturant holds stayed on our account for 4 days. My husband then stopped with friends later in the evening at the restaurant and they all said the Bartender was very rude and nasty. I have also posted on the hotel website, but I feel the people working in both places work together to take advantage of customers. I would not recommend either without a full cleaning house of the current employees. Then the restaurant may have a chance. read more
