Poor Quality -- Very Disappointed I normally don't leave reviews, but I had to share my experience here. From start to finish, my visit was disappointing. First, the technician never asked what base color I wanted. He also didn't clean or trim my cuticles, and when I politely asked why, he told me I needed to "schedule a manicure." That was confusing because my friend, who was seated right next to me, didn't schedule one either -- yet her technician took care of her cuticles without issue. I also pointed out that the polish on two of my nails came off but he completely ignored it. For $100 (nails and a pedicure with no color), I expected at least decent quality. Unfortunately, the end result looked rushed and unprofessional. After I paid with card the woman at the front kept saying "OK, bye" while I was trying to get my wallet out to take cash out for a tip , which came across as rude and dismissive. I still left a tip out of respect, but the overall experience made me regret coming here -- especially since I brought a friend for our first outing together. I paid for my friend because I felt bad for bringing her there in total it was $160 with tip Once a couple of new clients walked in, everything felt rushed and careless. I sat there for what seemed like forever it was at least 30 mins while staff walked around chatting in their language. Then a new lady started on my toes. She cut me twice and I told her that it hurt. She lightened up but she was SLOW and seemed to be asking questions of others on how to do the pedicure. She used a grater on my soft parts of my foot. I have been coming here for over 4 years and this was the final straw. I will NOT be coming back. with French tips, colorful lines, and fruit on them my nail tech started to do it not like the picture and when I asked him to do it more like the picture that I showed him one lady looked at me and rolled her eyes and then they didn't put the fruit on my nails. I paid over $70 for white French tips with colorful lines. i'm fully disappointed this is nothing like I asked for and when I tried to ask for what the picture they at me the lines are uneven. The shapes aren't the same and the colors are nothing like I asked for in the picture. I am super disappointed and am shocked I had to pay this much for something I didn't ask for. I have been going here on and off for 8 years. I always get a great dip or acrylic manicure. And their prices are very reasonable.

I've been going to Fenton Nails for 15 years, and as of today I am officially done. They will never receive my money ever again. Last week I went in for a fill and a color change, and was told I had to take my set off and start over due to the color I had being to dark. However, when I got that set done, I showed them what I wanted to do next and they said that would be no problem. So I was lied to. It ended up costing me $95! Which is absolutely ridiculous considering I was just there three weeks prior spending $85. I showed them a picture of what I wanted, and they said it was going to cost $75. But as the time went on, the girl at the front desk kept coming over saying that would be another charge, and oh thats another charge. I don't know how someone can tell you the price and then continuously upcharge you throughout the process. I felt extremely ripped off, especially for having going there for so long. On top of that, what I got done looks nothing like the photo I showed. I understand that there would be some minor differences, but if they were unable to do what I wanted, they should have said so. I left unhappy, and I spent way too much money to be unhappy. I should have stopped going a long time ago, but I am officially done. I requested a soak and new set. Nails are not straight, thick, and sharp underneath scratching and catching on my clothes. After sitting for an hour and a half I informed the tech they did not look right. She said your fingers are not straight (they are, my natural nails needed to be cut as they curved from long acrylic wear). I went to wash my hands and there was no soap. When I informed the manager he screamed across the shop it messes with their topcoat and they don't add soap on purpose in the shop. I informed him my nails were not right and he agreed and said come back tomorrow and he will fix. All the files were used and not single use. I will not spend another cent here. This place is not the place to get your nails done. This was my first time coming here and needless to say I cried half way through the appointment. I get my nails done once a month and I have a nail salon I go to frequently. Although my friends wanted to attend this place. I wish I had said no. Before I walked in I had beautiful thick natural nails with shellac on them. The man doing my nails took the drill to them until they were soooo thin. And began to hurt. I tried to pull away and tell him it hurt but he kept going anyway. After my nails were done my fingers are left in pain. My nails are thin and bendable and I'm devastated and in pain. This used to be the best place in town but seems to be going downhill. My pedicure was fine but I was appalled when my nail tech brought out the razor I requested and set it ON THE FLOOR. It came time to scrape my heels and sure enough he grabbed it ready to go to town on my heels. I had to ask twice to please go sanitize it as it's a sharp instrument straight off the floor. He ran to the back with it and came right back out with it, saw me watching then just grabbed a clean one out of the drawer instead. Talk about possible staph infections! I get tired of going to nail places where no one speaks the language. But they have broken the language barrier here by offering a very peaceful place to relax while doing an excellent job of a manicure and a pedicure for you. They do not hurt or cut you which have been my previous experiences at other salons. Oops! Went back before I sent this review in and a lady did hurt me and cut through my skin when she was trying to remove the old gel. I really think the men are much more professional and gentle. The lady pretended to not understand but just smile and look away quickly and continue to quickly finish. I will not return. It's supposed to be fun and relaxing every time- not a hit or miss job. I have been going to Fenton Nails for the past year getting acrylic. I am so disappointed in them lately. For the past few months my nails have chipped or lifted. I keep asking the tech to make them thicker rather than as thin as my original nail. Nope still thin. I just recently had it happen again and reached out to them with several pictures about 3-4 days after having them done and to date no response. It has only been a week this past Monday. I was unable to get past the nails of first foot being trimmed. Not only did they cut them too short, they were not cut well. It happened so fast, I saw him reposition his entire body and that was it for me. Or so I thought. Next he grabbed my big toenail with his clippers and tried to continue to cut as I said stop, stop, stop numerous times. Best part, he laughed. I have been going to the salon since it opened years ago. They were the best in town. Had to wait for hours to get in as there was no appointments. It was well worth the wait. The past couple of years though, it's starting to turn into a dirty looking salon and their turnaround of people makes it difficult when you get used to a tech that is no longer there. When you point out a flaw, the language barrier is a challenge. There is no management around any longer to even voice your concerns to. I hate to complain. I have been a client for over 2 years, and have been genuinely happy. But things have drastically changed. Since they have expanded and returned to walk-ins only, I have not been happy. My list visit was the final straw. I was seated with a new tech, which is fine. He immediately cut my nails too short for the almond shape. He did not tell me the acrylic I picked out was too light considering the last color. I asked for a new set. When he was doing the acrylic, I pointed out I did not like the way he was doing the reverse ombre. He became very upset and loud. I was asked to move to another station with an experienced tech. She did the best she could, but my nails are not right. While the 2nd tech was "fixing" my nails, all the other techs came over and began whispering among themselves about my nails. I felt I was being labeled in the wrong. It was awkward, and embarrassing. I should also mention I was there for 3 hours, and had acetone spilled on my shirt and pants. I pointed the acetone out to the manager, and was told it would be fine. I was charged full price without any recognition, or apology, for the poor service. Less than 2 weeks, my nails are cracking and lifting. They are too thick, and wide for my nail beds. I will not be returning after this experience. Getting my nails done should be a peaceful and positive experience. My last 3-4 visits have been awkward and tense. read more

BEWARE - BEWARE - BEWARE - BEWARE I need to warn everyone about this place.... This was my 2nd time ever getting my nails done so I was ignorant to the proper procedures. after now doing lots of research I found out that you are not supposed to drill the acrylic off of the nails all the way down to your nails- this is Fenton nails procedure. The lady also drilled off my cuticles and made my cuticles bleed and sore for the past 2 weeks. Your nails are supposed to be soked in Acetone and then the remainder acrylic should be scrapped off. All this cost me $70.00 and 2 trys to get this right. What a mess......I'm now getting ready to go get my nails redone at Walmart and I'm hoping that my nails are not completely damaged underneath now mind you I never get my nails done this is all new and I fear that Fenton Nails had damaged my nails.... I have gone to this salon before. Sometimes I have had good results, and sometimes not so good. The last time I went on Sept. 24 I left with small cuts on 8 of my fingers near my nail. If you want to have your nails done you either have to show up 30 minutes before they open and stand outside the door or wait up to an hour to an hour & a half to have your nails done. If I could I want to rate a minus 5. There are negative reviews on yelp that I believe 100%. They are rude Actually told me to get acrylics so I would stop bothering them. I've been getting "dip" for over two yeas and the only place it chips is from Fenton nails because the product is thin. He actually blamed me. Another woman in the salon said same thing happens to her. (Why is she still there????). Why would women continue to give them their hard earned money when they are so rude to you? To end my story he didn't assist me finding the color to replace my chips (5 fingers out of ten within 6 days).then said HE found it. Wrong color pic included He didn't care didn't even compare the color. I spent $85 plus tip plus all the time trying to fix. I said I need to get my nails totally redone. He shrugged and said ok. Wife had nails done on Saturday (01/29 ), cuticle was left jagged and unfinished, polish was uneven and coming off the next day, Sunday. Wife called and spoke with Ava and was told to come back in and would be redone, but because of work schedule was not able to return to following Saturday, which was acceptable with Ava during phone call. Wife also took pics of nails on Sunday ( day after ) to show what was happening and the poor job. Upon returning on this past Saturday (02/05 ), Ava was not working but spoke to owner. The "owner" was rude and would not redo the nails, he would only clean up the cuticle, and didn't want to look at pics, didn't care what Ave stated and agreed to, the jerk restated he was the owner and was not going to redo the nail polish, and if she didn't want her cuticle fixed to leave his store. He continued to state there was no guarantee on base nail polish even tho wife CALLED the day after and had pics, and Ava agreed to redo. His cost of material ( pennies ) and 30 mins of time could have made a repeat customer, but his RUDNESS, incompetence's and zero people / customer skills lost a new customer. I had a terrible experience at a different salon called somerset salon in flint on Miller road. It seriously look like a four ur old painted them. We made appointments and they wouldn't do anything we asked. No shellac no gel no extensions... They did nothing to shape or even file my nails and were very rude. I left in tears because it was such a bad experience. It was they day before my little brothers wedding and I needed somewhere to go to have them fixed! I went to Fenton nails and they were very attentive and very nice! They have just about any colored acrylic you could dream of! Making a decision was very hard due to all the beautiful custom colors! This was my first time at this salon and I was greatly disappointed. I had a pedi by an older male. The pedi was ok but he was a little aggressive in sanding my heels that he took a small amount of my skin off. Another woman came & did my manicure standing next to me while I sat in the pedi chair.
