When in Boston during baseball season, visiting the iconic Fenway is definitely something to do at least once. Tickets can be purchased at the box office but usually better to get ahead of time through the MLB app or website ahead of time. Sometimes on the Boston Red Sox site, they have tickets for special event games that might be the same price as regular tickets but they include a giveaway like jersey. The area surrounding the park is filled with restaurants, bars, music venues, and not far from the rest of Boston. Easily walkable from downtown (as you will see many people doing). There are several entrances and some get way busier than others. There is also a large fan shop outside the main entrance. There are plenty of food options inside but the lines can get very long. The field is impeccably kept. Seats can be a little tricky as some are under cover, some outside completely, some with blinding sun for most of the game depending on time, and some sections have large poles right in the middle of them. There are virtual seat views and website that show you the view from different sections, I highly recommend using those for this stadium. The iconic green monster is exactly that, quite the feat to get a home run over! Even if you have only the slightest interest in baseball (or maybe a concert is the way to go depending on the schedule), a visit to Fenway is one for the books! read more

I did not realize how multi faceted Fenway Park is. I was able to get free tickets for the Coon vs Army football game at Fenway for free so invited some friends and spent the day in the city. We took the train, then walked the rest. The process to get into the park was smooth and fast, with lots of staff helping with bag checks and ticket scanning. When we were inside, we realized there was a better turnout than we would have ever imagined, especially with a snow storm the night before. Before going to our seats, we bought some drinks which were very overpriced as expected ($13 truly, $10 hot chocolate). We found our seats, but one of them had an obstructed view so we snuck to the 38-40 section where the sun was still hitting and the view was unobstructed. The sun helped a lot since it was a really cold day. The seats were clean and dry and so were the stairs and space between the seats. I appreciate all who were involved in setting up the park to welcome us all. It was interesting how they were able to transform a baseball field into a football field. After taking a sip of the hot chocolate, we were heavily disappointed. It was closer to being hot sugar water as it lacked the signature cocoa flavor. During the fourth quarter, my friend and I went to the bathroom. They were clean and there are lots of stalls, sinks, and hand dryers. They have a couple large screens around the field, which helped with seeing the game a little better. The scoreboard was electronic, which made it easy to read the score, and they were clever enough to make the graphics make it appear like an old scorecard, with rusting metal. At the end of the game, Riley Green was expected to perform. I did not make it that far since it was very cold and did not align with my train schedule but I am glad the Boston famous ball park could be used to entertain a large crowd in more than one way in a single night. It was inconvenient that on our walk back to the car, they had some sidewalks closed off to pedestrians since the game was still going on. Beautiful afternoon, was fortunate to have someone drop us off right in front of Cask'n Flagon which is just one block from the entrance. Purchased tickets online, as long as you have the app and ticket QR code up, you will get through the entrance with ease. First stop is the metal detector, second is the actual ticket kiosk where there is a human at every one to help. Seats were in the Aura Pavilion, Section 12. There is an Aura Club with an indoor bar, restaurant and complimentary popcorn in Togo boxes at the hostess station. They check your barcode to make sure you purchased tickets for that area, then stamp your hand with Black light ink. After that, you just need to show them your hand to pass in and out of the area. Front Row seats were fantastic, the crowd stands for the anthem and throughout the game for support and when things get really exciting so no one was blocking my view. I tried the MLB mobile ordering. It was about 45 minutes from order time to delivery. The app shows you the progress, however, mine only updated from Order Accepted to In Progress and was only updated to Delivery on the Way after the food was delivered. Hot dog was good, missing mustard and fries apparently don't come with salt so be sure to request that if you want it. The hot dog does come with chips. If you are a wine drinker, as I am, 2 choices (from a pop top can) Pino Grigio and Cabernet. $15.50 I think. The wine choices in the Aura Club were better, the house Chard was $20. Easy exit after the game, crowd continued to move and I never felt claustrophobic. Pick up in front of Cask'n Flagon was easy as there is a lane for busses and bikes so super easy for a car to quickly pull in for you to hop in the car. NOT a place for someone to park and wait for you. I used the iHeart Radio app to hear the 93.7 game announcers, there was a 20-30 second delay so I just used one earbud as I like to hear the trivia and commentary, even if it is slightly after each play. Fenway Park is just fun. I can't say I am a huge fan of baseball but being at a game, hearing the bat crack when the ball hits it, seeing balls hit over the green monster and even watching how they maintain the field during innings is so fun to watch. There are contests (like a dance off on the big screen) and tons of candids while the camera pans the fans. They usually wait until the fan realizes they are on the big screen and they are always fun reactions. Expensive, but a great time and a great day. read more

Historical, Legendary, Iconic... I love going to see games in all the Baseball stadiums! If you want to hit only the top 5 this is a must! Before you go into the Stadium go the Bleacher Bar outside in center field. Read my review on that. When you go into the stadium, walk around the stadium and take in all the different views of the stadium. Look at the seats, notice how straight they are and they are not facing home plate! Sit in one... our seats were Amazing!!! Yep, first row on top of the Green Monster!!!!! The view was amazing. If you have not sat up there put it on your bucket list! Called at 10:10am on July 10 to try to get tickets for Noah Kahan. The worker who answered was extremely rude and the only thing I asked was if they had tickets for around 200 dollars. He responded no very angrily and proceeded to hang up. I understand Noah Kahan tickets are very high in demand but that rudeness was very unappreciated. Bring back good customer service. Came to see my Yankees play and to be a part of the greatest rivalry in baseball. Fenway is in no way, shape, or form my Yankee Stadium but I will say that I did enjoy it nonetheless. To me, it's smaller, more intimate, and everything just seemed accessible. The bathrooms were tight and a little stuffy but I'll always appreciate a clean restroom. The food choices were minimal but I got everything I wanted. That very popular Fried Dough was PERFECTION!!! I LOVED it! Although I saw someone with some kind of syrup on the side. I wish the cashier told me there was a such thing because I would've liked to try it. They guys selling the beer at the seats were remarkable! I'm in awe of their hustle with Boston flair. Fenway is a must visit for any baseball fan! Even though we lost, it was such an incredible experience and we didn't want to leave. Definitely arrive early and enjoy one of the many bars right outside and have fun with other Red Sox fans. The fans were all a lot of fun, and we met people from all over the world. Inside we had fun doing the wave and singing along to the music, it was a great day. The stadium was clean and so were the restrooms. We ordered a pretzel, a sausage dog, two beers and it was all great! It was an extremely hot day, so come prepared if your seats are in the sun. The best seats are behind home plate in the box section 30-32, close enough to see the action, far enough under the overhang to escape the daytime sun.The seats were pretty comfortable, too. The best way to arrive is by walking or Uber, and when getting picked up, walk a few blocks away to get picked up in a timely manner, otherwise you'll be waiting with hundreds of others. One feels the history come alive as they walk through the corridors, walkways and halls of Fenway Park... the park has managed to preserve the sanctity of the past and facilitate the new generations of baseball players. You can't go wrong with a fun day at Fenway Park. This place is a must go anytime you are in Boston. A Red Sox game is always a fan favorite. Even if you are not a baseball fan it is a great historical landmark that you can tour just to enjoy the architecture. The whole area is surrounded by fans and local restaurants catering to the crowd. You are immediately in a great baseball atmosphere with tons of similar people. You can't get this sort of baseball stadium environment in many other places in the country. I came here this summer for One Piece Night. You don't usually get a mix between baseball and anime so I had to take full advantage. You had to buy one of the special tickets in order to get the bobblehead. They do have other theme nights throughout the year so you should pay attention to the schedule. The other event I went to was for the Bad Bunny bobblehead earlier in the year. Seating here is a little tricky. There are many Loge sections that have a pole blocking some or all of your view. On the positive side you can always find an open seat in the lower rows. Most people tended to move up if there were empty seats available. Near the end of the game the fans all get together and sing Dirty Water and Sweet Caroline. That is a great Boston experience. I am shocked I have not been to more Red Sox games. Needless to say, I had a great time and would love to come back. read more

I recently did a tour of Fenway and it was great. I wasn't looking forward to it because while I appreciate Fenway, I don't care about baseball, and the last time I had a good time here on Lansdowne was in October 2004, because the energy was lit. Obvs. Growing up nearby, I'd been to the park twice for Sox games and was never into it. But the tour really focused on the history of the park, with some baseball thrown in. Our tour guide was great and super informative. I learned so much and it was really cool to explore the park and see areas I normally wouldn't, like the press box or the rooftop garden. So cool to see our Minnesota Twins play here. This place is liking walking into a Time Machine. I kept expecting Shoeless Joe Jackson to rise out of the Charles River to 'go the distance'. Wow this place is nostalgic! We didn't eat here so I can't comment on food. Staff was great helping take a few pics for us and directing us as needed. You can't walk around the whole stadium because of the green monster but we walked around to both sides to check out all the views which I recommend to any visitor. I liked that the rows were so short to reduce people climbing in front of you. We sat close to the visitor dugout which were amazing seats. The park is so 'on top of the field' that there are lots of great seats. Be careful though, seats behind columns or under the roof can limit your ability to see the ball. What can I say that hasn't already been said about this iconic ballpark? It's a classic and I thoroughly enjoyed my time. It feels old but in a good way. It's like taking a walk back in time! The seats are pretty small so be prepared to get comfy with your neighbors. And if you frequent the bathroom or the bar (or both?) definitely get an aisle seat as it's impossible to squeeze through a row without making everyone stand. I was lucky enough to catch a Sox vs. Yankees game and even witnessed a home run hit over the Green Monstah. I'm not super big into sports but this experience was one I will never forget! read more

The Home of the Red Sox. The charm of an old stadium- you can feel the history. The Green Monster. But you can feel the old. Paint chips missing from seats, tight seats at that. We visit any stadium we can get to in our travels and newer stadiums are very sterile. I do love feeling the history. Knowing that things can still stay the same. What was new and I didn't like: ordering food at a kiosk. The line was extremely long. I think I was in line for a whole inning. This did not speed the process up at all. Seams poorly designed and I felt bad for the workers. And I couldn't even tell is my husbands sausage was going to have peppers and onions on it (it did.) The KidsNation area was set up nice to do a few things before/during the ballgame. My kids were really into testing their speed throwing balls and the 'clubhouse' with the pitchers phone. I think this is a way better idea than putting playgrounds inside stadiums because then watching a game turns into watching your kid at a playground. Pro tip: Speaking of KidsNation- if you have kids create them an account on their website. You get one free ticket per kid per season for a game! That's how we just caught this game. Overall... This review is for the fella at the ticket office. Prior to my arrival in Boston (From San Diego)- I was having issues creating an account on the Ballpark App. I've tried multiple times/ day before arriving here. I checked Fenways website and called the ticket office ahead of time, to confirm I could get tickets printed out. I even checked on Google Maps to see the exact location of the ticket office- that way I'm not circling around wasting time. Heads up- ticket office is located at: 6 Jersey Street- directly across the street from Red Sox Corner Store. I took the Green Line and hopped off at Kenmore Station. Easy walking distance from the station to the ticket office also. I thought the ticket office opened at 9am! Oopsies! Opens at 10am! So, I had time & money to burn- I went to the Red Sox store & bought some merch & walked to Pavement Coffee House for a refreshment. Back to my review... arrived in time at 10am. I was explaining to the fella behind the ticket window my issue with creating the Ballpark account. We tried troubleshooting the issue on my phone- then he read what the screen has been telling me this whole time: Oops! Something went wrong. Try again later. I showed him my ID and email confirmation. Although I purchased the tickets on FEVO (didn't realize it was a 3rd party distributor- I rarely watch baseball)- he was able to see what I purchased on their system. And tah dahhhh! Both tickets are printed now! Whew! One less app to have on my phone!! read more

Fenway park is very historic baseball stadium. I have seen a few concerts here and really have nothing bad to say. The sound system, stage placement is really great. I have seen baseball games here too obviously. Some of the chairs are not the most comfy but it's a part of the history of this iconic ballpark. If you are ever in Boston this is one place you should go. They have tours which I have never done but they sound interesting. This ballpark also has a nice/ somewhat private ( tickets are needed) for this bar area that is way up top of the ballpark. They have private bars indoors and one outside and the bathrooms are pretty cool they have a tv inside of it. This special place is called Aura Pavilion. read more

Late in the pandemic season mid 2023, the bag policy has loosened from the earlier clear bag to a single compartment 12x12x6 inch bag. A sealed bottle of water still allowed. I saw some normal small cross body purses making it past, so perhaps they aren't so strict on the smaller bags? I didn't personally want to risk it though. For food, I googled the options at Fenway ahead of time and ran across: https://ballparkeguides.com/fenway-park-food-menu/ The maple bacon burger sounded mighty tasty to me. A beef patty with maple bacon, caramelized onions, and Vermont cheddar cheese on a brioche bun. I hunted it down in the Concourse. It wasn't the prettiest thing, but I definitely was not disappointed! $12.50 for 1230 calories (yup, I turned a blind eye to that). While I didn't get a Fenway frank this time around, I did have some decent fries (wish they had honey mustard in the condiment station, but I made do with the ketchup. There were two kinds of mustard but no relish for the hot dog fans.) and a box of Cracker Jacks later on during the game. We didn't win, but it didn't rain and I had a good time. 2023 visit ** Mid 2024, the annoying bag policy continued. But I have since picked up a clear tote, so I'm now ready for next year! When you buy a hot dog from the stands, in terms of condiments, you get what you get and you don't get upset. Fortunately though, someone else from my group had received extra ketchup, while I had only received mustard, so I didn't have to do without. I guess we have to walk for a hot dog if you want relish. I witnessed my first Walk Off after the changeover of overtime play rules - I was so confused as to how a run was scored by a player that I didn't realize was in play... I wish the food at Fenway Park was better. The Italian sausage and Fenway Frank, along with the chicken tenders, were greasy and lukewarm. The flavors just weren't there, and the options felt pretty limited. It's a shame because the atmosphere is fantastic, but the food really brings it down. Here's hoping they step it up with more and better options. Also the "Chicken Caesar salad wrap" was not even tightly wrapped with cut up pieces of warm chicken tenders inside. It fell apart once I started biting into it. I don't even know if it considers a real chicken Caesar wrap. Eat a tasty burger nearby before coming. read more

Five stars all the way! A little bit of bias because my SF Giants won while I was there but taking that out of the equation, this ballpark is a firm five stars! I admit I was a little intimidated to show up in my Giants gear at Fenway. It's one of the oldest and most beloved ballparks. Everyone there, fans and employees alike, showed me and my husband a welcoming time and made the trip amazing. We are on a quest to visit all of the ballparks when our Giants play and we were lucky enough to score some great seats to a game. To maximize your experience, I recommend you get to a game right when the gates open. We were greeted by a gentleman on stilts that was taking photos with fans and ushering everyone in to the outside ticketed area where you have access to a HUGE team store as well as some yummy eats. After checking out the exterior stuff, we made our way in to the ballpark and walked around to all the different locations. The ushers welcomed us and even pointed out various landmarks to check out. Pesky's pole is my fav :) Once the game got going, fans were cheering and were very into the game. This is a sports town people so if you are visiting, put down your phone and immerse yourself into Boston sports culture. You may even find yourself accidentally cheering for the home team if you get caught up in the fever! Sweet Caroline was a show stopping moment, the whole crowd sings and rallies together. It was pretty awesome to join in and be a part of that tradition. This is one of my favorite ballparks. If you are visiting for one time to check it off your bucket list, splurge and buy some nice seats. The view is great, the fans are awesome and the ballpark is amazing. I will forever cheer for my Giants but will remember this as a top park to visit! read more

Fenway "Pahk" in the distinctive Boston accent, is the oldest operating Major League Baseball stadium in the country! Built and completed in 1912 it has been the home of the storied Boston Red Sox for one hundred and twelve years. This is my third visit here ('95 & '97) and all were for Yankee - Red Sox games, which is arguably is the oldest pro sports team rivalry. We did a pre-game park tour, which allowed us to walk on the field behind home plate and sit atop the green monster in left field. It was really nice and the weather was unbeatable. They have a fairly large vegetable garden behind the left field stands. I believe most of the vegetables get donated to local charities, nice! For the game we sat in Grandstand 21 which is behind home plate. We did not have an obstructed view so we were able to see everything. You have be mindful of that when ordering tickets. Concessions, well, eat before you get here. Choices are not great and the offerings are pretty basic. But, you are here to experience the place and enjoy the game. Some trivia. The infield is dirt, the areas behind home plate, down the left and right field lines, and the warning track, is crushed red lava. It was crushed brick but changed it for drainage purposes. By measurement it's the smallest park in the country but has the largest press box. The Green Monster, which is 37' high, was built in 1914 to keep people on Landsdowne Street from watching the game for free. At that time the street had a large number of bars and taverns. The Green Monster wasn't referred to as such until 1947 when the advertisements were removed and the wall pained Fen Green. Its the only stadium where both foul poles are names. Right field is the "Pesky Pole." Left field is the "Fisk Pole." Yankees lost 8-4 on 6/15 when we went. They dropped the series too. My son, the BIG Yankee fan was not happy. I've sat through more Sox games at Fenway than I have hearings in court -- thank God. That ballpark is my escape. You walk in, hear that crack of the bat, and boom: goosebumps every single time. The place has more history than my entire neighborhood combined, and half the seats still feel like they were built in 1912... because they were. When I'm there with friends or family, all the stress disappears -- judges, lawyers, life, all of it. Just me, the Monster, and the Sox breaking and fixing my heart every season. Go Sox! read more
