My wife and I have been working with Care (Fenway's Runway) to address my dog's fear/reactivity and territorial behaviors, especially around our home, for just over a month now. Specifically barking, lunging, and guarding me (his primary caretaker). The changes we are seeing now started subtly, but are beginning to blossom into a whole new relationship with him for us. I knew my dog was lacking structure, but I had no idea how to give it to him. I adopted him in 2020, in my early 20s, with truly not a clue how to support a dog like him. Care is the real deal!! She has helped me with my bernedoodle puppy, Blue, who is stubborn and has very high energy! Right after my first session with Care, Blue understands and obeys now the "stay" command, which Blue was struggling with beforehand. With Care, we practice good walking manners and etiquette during each training session. Before working with Care, walking Blue was exhausting and not fun for me as she would lunge and bark at people and dogs passing by. She would cross over me and trip me with the leash constantly, pull ahead, etc. That all stopped after my first session with Care. And now, in one month's time, Blue walks behind me or by my side, sits and stays when I tell her to sit and stay, does not cross over me with the leash, and no longer lunges and barks at people or dogs passing by. Additionally , she waits for me to set her food down and back away from her food before she eats as opposed to my being clobbered by her and her shoving her face into her meal before I even put down the bowl, like she used to! She's now crate trained. I did not know how to begin to crate train Blue before meeting Care. I'm truly amazed at how much Blue has learned in such a short amount of time! I call Care the puppy whisperer. She has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to dog behavior, which she's happy to hand down to me so that I can be the ultimate trainer for Blue her whole life. We started working with Care after our pups started fighting weekly. Our Shiba was labeled "aggressive" despite never having bitten anyone and as a result never got to experience things like pet stores and parks. We were hesitant to have people visit in fear of what could happen and those that did visit tended to be hesitant around her. We have had multiple visitors who met her in the past and all have said she's a different dog and love her to pieces! She still nips ankles sometimes but we are so proud of her progress. Our klee Kai (husky pup) has always gotten super excited about everything and would jump on people and slam into doors. She still runs into doors but hasn't jumped on someone in several weeks! She helped train our puppy when we rescued him, then helped with our older dog's training too! You really CAN teach an old dog new tricks! As a first time dog owner, I never realized how little I actually knew about how to properly train my dog on commands or tricks & because my dog is pretty much unlike any other dog in that he isn't really a fan of treats, I figured it would be next to impossible to train him on anything other than the basics. I couldn't find anyone that I felt confident wasn't just trying to gouge me for a ton of money so I had pretty much given up until I came across Care!! I had needed to find someone to leave my dog with while I went out of town & the second Dexter met her I knew we had a winner!! She kept me updated he entire time so I was completely confident he was being well taken care of & enjoying himself!! It wasn't until after I scheduled our first training session that I realized how little I actually knew about walking my dog with authority & purpose (and not with him calling all the shots! ). I had to humble myself enough to admit that I was the problem and that I needed guidance & we've both come a really long way!! I want to just start by saying that Care is easily one of the most, well, caring people I have ever met. She cares deeply about every dog she trains, has over for daycare, or watches for dogsitting. I have two dogs, both rescues with their own fears and issues, one is a 10 yr old lab Elle, who I thought couldn't be taught anything for her stubborn old lady age and the other is a 1 year old distemper survivor Bert with a neurological tic that makes his training and socializing unique. Care has not only completely transformed both my dogs, to where I can walk them both on leash with hands free leashes and they walk calmly and respectfully behind me; but she has made it so that both of my dogs respect me as the alpha and listen to me. All without treat training, shock collars, aggressive training. Just verbally and non verbal cues and the general understanding of how I act as an alpha within my pack. I use her for dog training, daycare, and dog sitting and she has been absolutely amazing at all of them. Bert, my youngest with the distemper tic, I send to daycare because he socializes well with other dogs (Elle has reactivity and can't join daycare). He struggled at the traditional daycares where there are 40+ dogs because it was overstimulating. Fenway's Runway has been the absolutely perfect place for daycare for him. He can just run and be a dog and be happy and be completely safe because she only allows small groups like 4-6 dogs at a time and only allows groups of either big dogs or small dogs at a time. We are also working on dog reactivity with Elle as she has trouble with other dogs while on leash. She has already improved so much that she can sit and look at the other dogs and then look to me instead of having full reactivity. And this is just in a few months of work! I have worked with other trainers before with barely any success and the amount of change we have seen with Care is incredible. Seriously, check her out on Instagram and give her a call. I am always a worried person when I have to leave my dogs with someone I don't personally know, so I do my research. Caroline was the first person I trusted my puppy with, my pup is a very skiddish and timid dog who is only affectionate with people she really knows. Caroline and Fenway were very hospitable, we came first for maybe 20 minutes to see if my pups and her would get along and my dog wouldn't die of a heart attack from being near other people. We felt confident to leave them for a night while we traveled. Her house is amazing and like she says "her backdoor is always opened" the dogs run free but their backyard fence look fairly new so it is also very safe. I thought I had waited too long to start training with our Husky/Akita pup (started at 8 months, maybe would have been easier if we started earlier) but Care showed us that there was still hope! Care is INCREDIBLE. I was really struggling with my dogs when we started and was considering temporarily rehoming one because I thought she was resource aggressive and was afraid of how she would react when I had my baby. After a year of training with Care there is now ZERO aggression from my older dog and the younger dog has learned boundaries. They were both impossible to walk and now they walk by my side without pulling or barking at kids or dogs. I've realized that we as owners needed training just as much as the dogs to know how to correct and prevent certain behaviors and I'm so thankful for how much we learned. Care really invests herself in her clients' success (I texted her often in the beginning and she would reply with what behavior was being exhibited and corrective actions to take until our next meeting). I've boarded my dog with Care and her trusty assistant Fenway (her dog) multiple times. My dog runs into Care's house and doesn't even notice I'm leaving because he's so excited for his staycation. Her house is clean and the dogs have a wonderful back yard to play and sun in. We've only had one session so far and my 5mo German Sheppard is already doing much better! She is very leash aggressive and has had a hard time with learning not to pee in the house, but since our fist session she hasn't had one accident in the house nor has she barked/been aggressive towards anyone walking by us on our daily walks. Care is absolutely amazing. We adopted our pup from a shelter, which brings a lot of unknown baggage and issues. He was already 4 so we didn't think there was much we could do. After a few months of excessive barking and troubling walks, we asked around and right away was greeted by multiple recommendations for Fenway Runway. After our first session with her, we knew it was a fit. Our pup took to her so easy, it's clear she loves her jobs and knows what she's doing. We have seen such a turn around in our pup within a few sessions. We can now walk him without fear he's going to get out of his harness, or go crazy barking at someone walking by. All the tips and tricks we have learn have been so beneficial, that even when she's not here we can still practice with confidence. Daycare has also been AMAZING.
