Our experience with Southeast Steel started well. They had the professional range and microwave we…read morewanted and said it could be delivered and installed quickly by MD Appliance. MD Appliance removed our old microwave, and then dropped it on our composite wood floor, leaving the floor scratched. The "old' microwave came with the house, so it was only one year old. We planned on reusing it in another house, but MD Appliance broke it when they dropped it, making a $700, year-old microwave oven a total loss. MD Appliance cracked the subway tile backsplash when they installed the new microwave. To repair,we would need to remove the microwave and hire a tile expert, probably at substantial cost, to repair. We needed to hire an electrician to install the range properly. MD Appliance said our plug was "on the wrong side." The same plug seemed to work fine with our old range. MD Appliance did not so much as acknowledge any of the issues they caused, much less offer to resolve them. We called to advise Southeast Steel about the install nightmare with MD Appliance. Southeast Steel could not have cared less that the people they are sending to install are so careless and destructive. This reflects poorly on Southeast Steel. I guess the MD in MD Appliance stands for Mass Destruction. Stay far away from them!

I'll chalk this experience up to a "learning opportunity." What should have been a simple $2…read moreflapper replacement for a slightly annoying leaky toilet turned into a far more expensive (and stressful) tank replacement. On the advice of a friend, I chose to replace the complete innards of the tank because the new system would make my toilet "more efficient." Efficiency went out the door the second I over tightened the bolts on the tank and cracked the porcelain. For those who haven't cracked a porcelain toilet before, repair is technically possible using an epoxy and a handful of hope, but eventually the crack will worsen and fail. Why would the crack worsen? The water that refills the tank is much colder or hotter than room temp and those temp changes cause the cracks to contract/expand over time and worsen. The net result would be a complete flood once the tank breaks. Why all this background? My first trip to get the tank was to a typically big box home improvement store. There, the solution was only a new toilet (~$100+) and a fair amount of work tearing out the old toilet and installing the new one. At Ferguson's, the extremely knowledgable staff was able to determine a replacement tank that fit my current bowl perfectly. The tank was slightly different than the original, but fit just as well, had all the innards pre-installed and cost only $40. I had the tank replaced within 10min of arriving home and can now rest easy that my tank won't explode or leak while away at work one day. This particular site has nearly every plumbing supply you could ever need. The prices are clearly comparable or better than the big box stores and the staff is definitely more knowledgable. If I ever decide to go all "Tim Allen" on my plumbing again, these will absolutely be the first people I call. And so should you.....

I had a really frustrating experience with Geek Squad, largely due to one employee--Keenan--whose…read morelack of professionalism set the tone from the very beginning. At my original appointment on April 7th at 5:40 PM, Keenan immediately came across as disinterested and dismissive. Before even properly assessing my issue, he brushed me off and said they might not be able to fix it anyway and that I'd probably be better off going directly to Apple. On top of that, I was then told the specific technician I needed was no longer there--even though the system allowed me to book that appointment time. So I was turned away entirely. I returned on April 15th, mistakenly thinking it was my rescheduled date. Despite that, the associate working that day was incredibly kind and tried to help me. She couldn't fit me in, but she made the effort and scheduled me properly for April 16th. She was a complete contrast--professional, helpful, and actually cared. When I came back on April 16th, I was once again helped by Keenan. The experience was just as disappointing. He had me sit and wait, and when he finally addressed me, he told me my AppleCare had expired the day before and that I'd now need to contact T-Mobile or go to Apple. This was extremely frustrating, because if I had simply been helped on my original appointment date, this would not have happened. What stood out the most was his attitude throughout both interactions--dismissive, unhelpful, and completely lacking any sense of urgency or accountability. It felt like he had no interest in assisting customers at all. This isn't a reflection of the entire Geek Squad team, as the associate I met on the 15th was great--but Keenan's behavior was consistently poor across multiple visits. Based on my experience (and similar feedback I've seen from others), this is something that seriously needs to be addressed.
