I've made a lot of purchases, big and small, at Lowe's over the years. My mower is still running strong and I've purchased home appliances that I'm very happy with. The one thing I can't recommend from Lowe's is their vegetable starts and SOME of their garden center plants and trees. We haven't had very good luck with things we've purchased from this stores garden center. We purchased several fruit trees, from 3 different places, and the only trees that either died or are suffering from dieses are the ones we got from Lowe's. The cucumbers and herbs we purchased this year are already doing poorly, or have died, next to other cucumbers and herbs that are thriving from other stores. The starts are sold for a premium price but the quality is definitely not premium. I think we'll skip the garden center here from now on. read more

I've always had a good experience with Lowe's. I am one of those people who rescues the plants that weren't cared for and go on sale. They even have perennials sometimes on sale. I agree that their gardeners could take better care of the plants though. I did buy some clematis there that didn't grow well. Their sale prices on plants and bulbs though I've found to be great. We found appliances on sale there and I actually like it here better than Home Depot! I guess it depends on what you are looking for. read more

Plants in pots are still in bad conditions and wilted every where from the entrance door and along the center aisles. New arrival plants are dying on racks. This Lowe's must have the most lazy garden employees or the store manager is so careless. Look at the clematis small pots in the twin crater, close by the cashier stands and right at the entrance to the inside store, completely dried up. The garden looks nice at first glance, but 1/3 of the plants are severely neglected. They look terrible. The flowers are wilted. The posts are so light because lack of adequate watering. I came here few times a week. Early this week I asked the cashier if she knew the plants need to water. She just shrugged like nothing to be bothered. Manager must do something about this if "he/she/they" actually care for the store! I hope the plants will be taken care of in our plant lovers next visit to the store. Tried to buy a fridge there, that was on sale. They did say it was on back order, so we gave them a week to deliver, which they said they needed. The day before they were to deliver it to say they would be at our house between 12pm and 4pm. I was so excited, as we have been living out of ice coolers for a week so the day we were suppose to get it at 4:30pm NOTHING, NO PHONE CALL, EMAIL, TEXT MSG. I CALLED THEM AT 4:30PM TO HEAR THE FRIDGE IS STILL ON BACK ORDER!!!! This was a paid in full at time of order. We cxl and went to Home Depot, and are so happy we did. Nice new FRIDGITARE . I was coming in to locate some wooden dowels and I found some plus some larger ones I could get cut down. But I needed that to happen as well as help to get it down due to both rotator cuffs are bad. I could find no one and looked for 15 min. I finally went and grabbed the bag of smaller shorter ones and I'm now hoping they'll work. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how some craft stores have a huge selection of these same dowels in 3 ft length but lowes doesn't? But I will let this secret out--I got a portable craftsman air pump for tired and whatnot with flashlight for same price or less than the ones you have to directly plug inside the car. This one you can use the adapter plug to plug into car and it's provided. This Clackamas location needs to get more customer oriented--being in Salem and having the Lowe's there spoiled me because I could always get help. read more

I have shopped here since they took over the Levitz property. But I've never bought patio furniture from them. I wasn't sure if it was in the Garden area or near it. So, when I walked in I saw workers on the floor! Hey, why hunt for it when you have someone to ask. Now the first person I did see was new and had a rough idea, but Abigail immediately helped and lead me right to them just on the outside of the building when I showed them both the website pic and info. It was also the last day of the sale price and they are locked up. She even walked me back to checkout as it was my only purchase and it was unpaid for going back inside threw an Exit. Very busy there for a weekday in the late morning. Great that they have more workers again and you can see with the competitive prices why they have improved. Something that would normally take 15 minutes to do was done in 5. The parking lot is a little hairy being so narrow with much difficultly backing up. read more

Worst customer service. Tried to buy a Blink video doorbell that is on sale. The cashier was told that the price was wrong and I showed her the sale price on Lowes app. She argued with me. I finally went to the customer service desk and got the same bull. I left the store without the doorbell and got it on Amazon. Sale price was what I paid with NO BULL. Ans, worst app ever. The customer service here is horrible - second time ordering online and the woman who runs the desk at night is a nightmare. I sent my spouse to pick up suet cakes I had ordered for curbside pick up, they didn't come out after 20 minutes so he went inside to see them all chatting and milling around, then the woman copped an attitude about him coming inside and because he didn't have ID wouldn't allow him to pick up the order ... Of suet cakes. $13.98 suet cakes. Even though he had the barcode they wouldn't allow him to pick it up. This is the SECOND TIME the night staff at the online order desk have given us trouble. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews about this location. Frankly, I drive past two Home Depots to get here and wouldn't think twice about it. Now, my experience is slightly different than most: I place the order online and drive there to pick it up. They are HIGHLY organized, respectful of your time, and friendly to boot. Also, as opposed to Home Depot, I can use my military discount online. That alone is a bonus for online shopping. read more

We've purchased a handful of items from here ranging from bathroom vanities, light fixtures, electrical tools and garden plants. We decided to buy a new grill today. Rather than giving Home Depot our business we chose to drive further to Lowe's. Big mistake. We went to the grill/outdoor department and saw others looking at the grills. Maybe ten total. We looked at grills until we found the one we had read about. In the ten minutes from arrival to finding the grill nobody asked if we needed help. Employees walked past, nothing. I went to customer service twice to ask for help. The woman there paged for help each time. We saw a couple of employees walking towards us and thought they were our help. Nope. They too walked past us. There finally was one guy who started helping another customer with grills. He at least acknowledged us and said we would be helped soon. We weren't. So, we left drove to Home Depot spent $700 and left in under 30 minutes. We had two employees help us. The customer service was outstanding. Sorry Lowe's, we won't be back. read more

This particular Lowe's location has a smallish garden center compared to other locations, but seems to keep better stock levels than most others within reasonable driving distance (they were the only one that had the Milescraft DrillBlock in stock). The store is well-lit, kept clean, and doesn't seem to be plagued with rolling ladders, pallets, forklifts, etc. that its orange competitor always seems to have (meaning, shopping at Lowe's is safer and easier). Social distancing activities are thorough and unambiguous, and it seems to me that they've drastically increased their staff level to accommodate the challenges. read more

I finished my shopping and was looking for a checkout stand, there were ONLY self scan. I know the Millennial group loves these things, I refuse to use them. The gal running all 4 self scan did offer to ring up my purchases but I declined. I went to the customer service desk instead. I realize some may not agree with me and that's fine. I refuse to do a job that's already been factored in on the markup of the products I'm buying. My dryer was on the fritz, so I began my hunt for a new one at Lowe's. Lo and behold, they had one with a small dent marked down to $400 so I bought it! After loading it up and getting it wired and plugged into my house, it turns out the heating element was bad. Cold air and nothing more, so I returned it. Problem is, I assumed this one would work and got rid of my old one and now don't have a dryer because of this. I asked to speak to a manager and they wouldn't even talk to me. I would have bought another if they met me in the middle out of consideration for my major inconvenience, but they could care less about me. I've spent $1000's of dollars at Lowe's over the years, and they will never get another penny of my hard earned money ever again. I have nothing but good things to say about my visits to the store. The only thing that I might consider griping about is the selection of products is it as nice as they are at the big orange store. However I will not shop at the big orange. I have been a patron of Lowe's for many years and have found that the vast majority of staff that work at this location to be very customer service orientated and care about their customers shopping experience. The garden area is always clean and tidy which can be a little tough to maintain with the amount of customers to go through the spot. They have definitely earned my loyal and repeat business as they have never done anything to let me down, unlike their competitor. read more

I swore I would never again enter the Tigard location because of how I was treated (ignored and unable to get anyone to help me load garden pavers to my car). I would give them no stars if I could this is the 2nd time I have been treated horribly in this store !!! Last night I ran in there for my husband to get some more supply's for our home improvement project . Which after my last horrible experience there I put it behind me and we go there weekly multiple times because it is our neighborhood store we spend over 1000 a week easy . Shout out to the workers at Clackamas Lowe's for going above and beyond (literally) to help us find a specific type of wardrobe box. My husband needed a box big enough for our parakeet cage so we can take our birds to the vet. I found a box online, but it wasn't where the Lowe's website said it was. The employees at Lowe's didn't give up on finding it and even used an electric ladder to go up several stories to get the box. I really appreciate their dedication to customer service. read more

Clean and very organized store with lots of employees. The parking lot is very large and there Is a separate anything in the lumber area. When this store first opened their prices were extremely high compared to other home-improvement stores but now the prices have come down and are much more affordable. You can find pretty much anything you need for your home-improvement projects at this store and if they don't have it in stock they should be able to order it. Home depot on Johnson creek is always crazy busy and the parking lot is a nightmare. Lowes usually has what I need. The self check out is pretty easy and straight forward. Two young kids delivered my refrigerator and "just pushed it through" and did $1000 worth of damage to my brand new home. Staff is friendly enough and they have most everything one would want, but when I bought my new Whirlpool refrigerator there, they sold me an extended warranty. I'm OK with that, but if you ever need to actually use the warranty or claim the discounted rebates on accessories, you get treated to NO SERVICE at all. Been sitting on hold now for over 50 minutes waiting to actually find out just how important my call really is to them. Bought a new Whirlpool French door refrigerator in September of 2019. Also bought the extended service contract (5 yrs). Now in July of 2022 we have developed a problem with the freezer and need a service tech to come out. When I finally made it through the phone tree to a human, it turned out to be someone with a very limited command of English. They set up a repair order that is over a month away. NOT satisfactory service! I called the repair company to see if they could do something about the long service delay and managed another phone tree. I was eventually informed by the robot that my call was very important to them and they would respond in only 59 minutes. Would I please hold? This type of service is horrible and a black mark on Lowe's credibility. My advice: purchase your appliances somewhere other than the big box stores, and skip the extended warranty unless they can guarantee you swift and responsive service. I hate this place for so many reasons. I rarely come here even though I live close, and drive farther for Home Depot, but sometimes I lose my mind and think it won't be a bad situation when I need something small or a quick. I think this is the last time I'm going to give Lowe's a chance. Their customer service is non-existent and when you finally find someone you think can help you they either don't know or am completely annoyed you are asking them a question. The customer service lane is absolutely no help. When you ask a question they reply with the shortest answer possible with no problem solving whatsoever. This place is probably fine for people who always know exactly what they need and don't ever have a question, but for someone like me who is in the process of rehabbing a duplex, who has medium knowledge of refurbishing, this place is NOT for you. This past Tuesday, two days ago, I went in to pick up an item. The customer service line was clear back into the lumber area! And only about 25% of people were masked in the store, and they were the employees. So, I left, disgusted. Then I went back last night. I had ordered something, and unless I pick it up by a certain date, it's gone. So, I went in. This time the line was much shorter and most people were masked. EXCEPT THE GUY IN FRONT OF ME, THE GUY BEHIND ME AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE CLERK. Well, I did my best at social distancing from these rude customers, but at one point I was force to wait RIGHT NEXT TO THE ENTRANCE TO THE STORE. With many an unmasked person sauntering in to shop. I went thru pains to get as much distance I could from these people, while at the same time retain my place in line. CAN WE SAY STRESSFUL? Maybe i'm making mountains out of molehills here, but aren't we in this all together? I'm wearing a mask to protect YOU. Can't you do the same? Golden Rule n' all? So, ok, I get up to the counter. The sales lady, a young gal in her 20's or 30's, has a mask down to her chin, exposing her mouth and nose. I said, "Ya know, the mask works better if it covers your nose." She retorts, "I can't breathe". I answered something innocuous but chose not to press the issue. So, Lowe's, maybe assign her another position? I'm a 300# man and I have to wear a mask at work. It regularly fogs up my glasses. And sometimes I hyperventilate. So, I take a breather, step into the bathroom and breathe. Then I get my *** back into work. Her coworkers seemed to be wearing masks. Some of them were as overweight as I am, and they were marching all over the store, virtually all... masked. So, Lowe's managers, directors, business owners: if you don't enforce the rules, your employees will take advantage of things. I'm not going to a hardware store for a long time. It's not worth it. Unfortunately the sales associates are poorly educated and rude. I had one garden associate tell me that a white bird of paradise would only grow to 4 ft. I currently own one over 15 ft. That is something that customers should be accurately informed of. I tried to recycle my cfl's there, which they have a clearly marked recycle bin for, only to be informed by three different sales associates that I couldn't. I called afterward to see why they have a recycle bin marked that and are listed on the Clackamas website as a site for recycling CFLs. The customer service rep on the phone tried to tell me they have no such recycle bin and haven't done that recycling for 3 years. When I told her I just laid eyes on that recycle bin she backtracked and said they only accept the small fluorescent bulbs. I said I understood that to be the definition of CFLs but was told those weren't accepted either. She didn't take the correction well and proceeded to get rude and aggressive. So here's the deal, this is a terrible place to shop. It has been for years. What has put the cherry on top of the horrible experience has been my last four trips, this spring (2023), to this store for garden items. Let's get this straight: this company doesn't care about their employees, their customers, or Veterans. One checker on KNOWN busy garden days (ie it's spring, weather is warming, people are in their gardens!!!!). I have NEVER, not on a weekend or weekday, seen this area properly staffed. Not ONCE. I have been in line where the person at the register needs a manager, calls a manager, and they don't come (they don't have enough managers for the volume of business they do!). Like, they have to be repeatedly called back!!! C'mon! You've understaffed, rely almost exclusively on customers doing all heavy-lifting cause your employees cannot keep up, and you don't even have sufficient managers?! You know it's gonna be busy: you're parking lot is overloaded with soil and mulch- you KNOW it's gonna be busy, yet you don't provide funds to properly staff!!!! Lowes disrespects their customers daily. You put us and you're employees through hell when your focus should be on ensuring people get what they need in a reasonable timeframe. How is that not obvious!? This is corporate greed and poor pay. Customers are pissed and leave the line, and their stuff, and go to Home Depot. What really irks me is that it's not the employee's fault! It is as-mentioned: pay better wages, give benefits to your employees, and you'll retain them. Hire more. Staff more. This isn't rocket science. When this waiting stuff happens and people leave, you've got a ton of ANGRY customers (do you not WANT out money!?!? What the hell is your purpose, Lowes!?) taking their anger out on these poor employees like they have any control! Giving a veteran a VEST in hopes of showing a good face to the public doesn't make you benevolent: you're exploiting Veterans. Period. Underpaid and overworked. In situations where people are yelling at them?! You don't respect or care for Veterans. And as a customer who IS a veteran, forcing me to "subscribe" to get a veteran discount is just wrong! I don't want mailers and my personal information sold and resold so I get a little discount. You honor me? Give me the discount. You don't? I purchased a dishwasher and paid for installation. Third party installer showed up May 30 - refused to install because the "water and drain lines from the dishwasher run under the floor." Tech offered to leave the dishwasher and instructed me to call lowes for refund of the installation cost. Called Lowes immediately - Lowes employee stated they were unable to process my refund until the job had been "processed" and the "truck returned to the store." I called Lowes again on May 31 - employees did not know how to process a refund and when I was transferred to the central Lowes office that employee was unable to process a refund because the third party installer "had already been paid." Instructed me to wait 5-7 days while Lowes authorized a cash refund and I would need to pick up the refund at Clackamas lowes. Arrived at Clackamas lowes 6/10/23 0830 with a case number as instructed - NO REFUND. Per the Lowes customer service staff - a Lowes employee had "already processed the refund" 6/9/23 but "didn't have my card number" to return my money. Lowes customer services refused to provide a refund while I was standing in the store because their system had a 'technical error.' 11 days now and still no refund. Is this a scam???? Would not recommend anyone use Lowes installation services. Dishwasher itself is meh. not any better than my old one. cleans fine. just as loud. not worth $700+ in my opinion. read more

Never use Lowe's for any carpeting needs! Terrible antiquated systems and communication lags that cause hug delays! Ordered carpet 10/16 and was told two weeks to get carpet, here we are three plus weeks and the carpet sits in warehouse in Portland and because it arrived on a Thursday, it's sits in the warehouse till the follow Wednesday their delivery day and then there is a 72 hour lag after that that they can even schedule install! Needing to get a new wheelbarrow, which are locked up outside, I picked one and went inside to ring it up. I was told I had to go BACK outside and write down the stock number for it. Why? They couldn't look it up on their computer, and a "customer service" person had to unlock it anyway and verify the right one was rung up - so W T F ???? I went to "Customer Service" and explained and questioned why I had to do this and their lazy cashier couldn't, and all I got was yup. yup. yup. Did you GRADUATE MIDDLE SCHOOL????? The idiot made no attempt to help me and just condoned the lack of customer service on the employees.
