Totes 'dorbs wine shop right in the heart of downtown. $5 tastings with lots of great local options on the menu! They also have samples of their fancy mustards and sauces placed out in the shop. Our server was so nice and friendly, she recommended some good stops in downtown Cambria as we enjoyed our flight of tasty pinot, bubbles, and other reds. Ended up buying a bottle for my parents, and there's tons of cute knick knacks in the store to look at as well. Great little stopping place! read more

What drew me and my girl in was the cool artwork in the window display and the chalkboard sign inviting us in for a tasting. What made us stay was the ambiance; nice open floor with a gracious host, kitschy things to look at while tasting and just a general relaxed vibe (which is nice after driving 4 hours from LA after a 65 hour work week). Nice selection of wine and wine-themed merchandise and gourmet food items. Extremely disappointed with the man at the counter today. I went in hoping to find two bottles of wine. I asked if he had a sample of the selected white wine. This place is awesome. It's a wine store that offers tastings. The people there are so friendly. We didn't love all the wines but some of the reds were really good. We also did the dessert wine tasting and the milk chocolate Cabernet was delicious. We ended up doing two tastings because they had a really good selection. Some friends & I stopped at Fermentations on a Sunday afternoon for wine tasting. We selected two places at the bar where a glass and tasting notes had been set out. After being poured our first tasting, there was a bit of commotion as a rather loud patron pushed his way up to the bar next to us hollering "EXCUSE ME!" to anyone in his path, pushing us aside in the process. We moved down several feet to allow for him and his companion, and he continued to press against us talking so loudly we could not hear each other or the server who came by for our next pour. We exchanged words with the gentleman, pointing out we had already moved and that he was continuing to push into us. He became quite angry and proceeded to make very rude remarks about us loud enough for everyone to hear. Management seemed to know the gentleman, made sure his wine glass was full and whispered to us, "Thank you for understanding." We stated we felt his and their behavior was uncalled for, put our money on the bar and left. Not a word from management to us to try and stop us from leaving or return our money even though we did not complete our tasting. Epic fail Fermentations - We DON'T understand as we visitors ARE your business too and our patronage should be just as valuable to you as your regulars! read more

What a wonderful little shop! My hubby and I were in Cambria for our wedding anniversary and popped in and bought something. After walking all through town came back to do some wine tasting. Was great that for $5 we got five wines so we each picked 5 different ones. We really enjoyed chatting with the helpful staff and ended up joining the wine club too. It was a reasonable price and only 3 times a year which is perfect for us. Plus, you get a gourmet food item too. Ended buying quite a lot to bring back for us and gifts as well. Definitely a great place especially if you want to taste wines from different wineries instead of all from the same place. Wonderful to get to keep the glasses as a nice memento from our anniversary weekend. We will be back! read more

USED TO BE our favorite spot. Had tasted there many times, even went out of our way to stop by. We went to their new location on opening day and we happened to have our newborn with us in her stroller. As my wife was walking around their store a man asked her to leave because they don't allow anyone under 21. We then went to MANY other tasting rooms (with the newborn) and wineries with absolutely no problem. Owners would welcome use with open arms! Very disappointing. Won't be recommending. read more

I LOVED THIS PLACE!! After a tour of Hearst Castle, a friend of mine found this place here at yelp and suggested we go before getting lunch and heading home! I am not a real wine lover but this place had me hooked on all the "sparkling and dessert wines" 5 tastes for $5 plus you get to keep the glass is a steal. Definitely a great stop if you're in Cambria and want a nice bottle of local wine to sip as you watch the sunset. The tasting is $5 and you can choose from a wide variety. I found a delicious Grenache, a tawny port, and a late harvest Chard, all for under $75. The Grenache was polished off within the next couple hours. We'll be back. read more

Stopped by here with a friend of mine, we stopped in Cambria for a rest from our trip to Big Sur. Wine tasting is $1 per glass, so we went ahead and did 10 tastings each, it was a lot of fun and it was our first time ever wine tasting. The whole shop is adorable and full of cute gifts and knick knacks for wine lovers. The staff was super friendly and was more than happy to answer all our questions about wine terminology and all our other curiosities about wine. It was a really good experience, one of the best stops of our road trip. read more
