    Love this place!!!

You betcha I recommend this place. I can't believe I waited this long to come here. First of all, a tasting flight is $10 for 5 wines or $2 a taste. They serve a variety of wines and allow you to practically taste anything, order a glass or even pop open a bottle. They have great service and a great wine club that of course I joined! Check them out the next time you are in the area.

$5 wine tasting - 1$ per wine selection. There's a variety of wine to choose from and the kind lady who was serving us that day had a recommendation for each category (I.e. white, red, bubbly). Since they're considered a bar, they have a 21 & under area. Their membership is a great deal, we ended up leaving with 3 wines. I didn't notice that my daughter dropped one of her teething toys, luckily one of the staff members called us & we were able to retrieve it.

Beautiful local art on wall in store lounge area.

We loved the hostess who was very knowledgeable about the wine she served us and gave us a beautiful background on each wine that was served that day. We also were able to purchase a charcuterie board to enjoy with the tasting, the ambience was magnificent and the intimate atmosphere and experience made for a special outing while sightseeing on our vacation/honeymoon.

If you need some wine tastings in Cambria after 5 pm, note the other great tasting shops like Moonstone shut down. We just wanted some wine to go with some takeout food. At 7:30 pm. Note plenty of restaurants were open midweek in January. Fermentations has one nice older gal Cherie pouring in the evenings. She works hard. The wine selections just were not that great...in a region of great wines. But hey, tastings were just $1 each. We found something. Next time we will arrive in afternoon and go directly to Moonstone tasting room! Yet Fermentations is open till 8 and it did the job for us.

$5 for 5 tastings. The best deal I've ever seen in the market. The town is quite small and we decided to step in and do the tasting. They have quite a menu and let you select 5 for tasting. Something famous there is is the chocolate liquor. I tried it but I wasn't a fan. Our server was a lady and she was very sweet. Loved all the tastings and the stories behind the wine. Best deal in town, best deal in the the bay!

What a fun and friendly venue, offering lots of wine for tastings. I think it was $6 for 5 one ounce pours. Just enough t wine to try lots and not get too buzzed. If you like a wine, you can buy a glass. Also, bottle discounts on purchase of three bottles or more. I'd come back!

While doing some shopping, we came across Fermentations. A great stop for all your wine needs and wants. Tasting was only $5 for 5 wines and then some! Interesting moscatos (peach and pineapple) and some nice red blends like If You See Kay (Yep! Lol!) Our host was hilarious and made our visit especially enjoyable. Also tried some chocolate wine that tasted like chocolate milk. I had to use the spit bucket more than I care to because I was the driver and no Uber in this town, but our host told us not to worry because if I overdid it the local tow truck driver could give us a ride! I didn't really want to test out this ride service, but good to know. If you're in town, you'll definitely want to make this one of your stops.

I love this little town and this little shop. I was strolling by since i reservations later that evening and saw they had $5 wine tasting and was like why not expand you pallet. I walked in the staff is all so friendly and nice. I talked with them and let them know I'm not a wine drinker by any means and when i do it has to be sweet. I was given a great amount to choose from in the tasting and they poor more than enough for you to really sip and enjoy. I enjoyed my time and somehow ended up with two new wines for my collection.

Amazing choices of wine. Ask for Connie. Exceptionally friendly staff. First time visiting Cambria. And this place made the trip worth it.

Even though I ended my original review saying I wouldn't come back I constantly heard locals recommend it. I am glad I came back. We came for lunch since they have a lighter menu compared to dinner. Our server was delightful and let my wife and I sample their different wines by the glass. I would have given lunch 5 stars if it wasn't for the tomato soup. I really should have sent it back. It was as thin as tap water and seemed like they took yesterday's leftover soup and added water to it. Was really expensive and truly pathetic. Entrees on the other hand were 5 stars. I went with the Louie salad. They were out of Ahi so they substituted perfectly cooked scallops. I really enjoyed it and think more places should use scallops as a salad protein. Salad was loaded with fingerling potatoes, green beans, even a hardboiled egg they cut up to look like a rabbit. Excellent meal and I could have eaten it again that week. My wife had the Croque monsieur which was an epic gut busting sandwich. I will definitely be back!

It is located in a small older home converted into a restaurant with several dining areas. The interior decor is warm & cozy without being overly pretentious. The staff was warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. The service was relaxed and unhurried. Our sea scallops entrée was a bit disappointing as the scallop size was quite small. Besides the corn pudding, the dish was in need of some spice but the creamy tomatillo sauce made it acceptable. The lamb chops entrée filled the plate and was plated quite nicely. The chops were well prepared with a nice char and quite flavorful. The Black Cat Bistro offers a nice selection of wines, many of which are from local vintners.

We enjoyed cocktails in the parking lot and met some nice people visiting from Evergreen, CO. We love the atmosphere when you first arrive, with all of the chefs prepped in anticipation of the bustle of the first patrons arriving. We split the Rockefeller for a starter. It went great with the Markham Sauv Blanc!! We had the shrimp scampi over pasta--so ridiculously good, it should be illegal. We also had the sea bass which was tasty. The potatoes on the side are perfectly done every time. I would say a 4pm arrival is probably the right time to get in line. Worth the wait!!

Not worth the hype…read more We went to Sea Chest Oyster Bar last night. Honestly, it was extremely disappointing. The food was lackluster and bland. The Clam Chowder tasted like flour and needed salt. The Soy Ginger Mahi Mahi was presented with the Soy Ginger sauce on the side, rather than being cooked in. It was so bland you had to search for the flavor of the sauce. I'm not sure how a dish with soy needed more salt, but it certainly did. Rather than it being a reduction or the fish actually cooked in it, it was just flavorless. And don't get me started on my Halibut. All of the fish is cooked in butter, which should give it some flavor, but it did not. We are usually plate-cleaners, but we both ate only about half of our meal. Lackluster, boring, bland. I would say it was a one-note flavor, but you'd have to have some flavor for that to be true. The only positive I have about the fish is that it was fresh, so I guess there's something. The service was fine. I can imagine what it's like to have an entire restaurant sat at the same time, so there should be some forgiveness there. But for $200 for two people for one appetizer, two entrees, and three glasses of wine, I would expect to be able to get through the meal.
