Came here after breakfast and excited to try it. I got a wine taste. Many of the wines offered are out of Paso Robles region which we really connect with. For some reason we didn't really connect with the reds but maybe it was just our palate. We found the best wine by far to be the desert wine. Customer service was good and people were friendly. Plenty of sitting space. The pours were very small for one gentleman who served us but luckily another lady helped us and gave us fair taste. This place live music going so I can see why it's popular. Definitely recommend checking out. read more

We are still Wine Clubmembers, and this is still one of our favorite wineries. We come here every time we visit Cambria, and enjoy our wine in between visits. This time, we had a lovely complementary tasting as wine members at the bar. We really loved the Cote de Stone, blend, Zinfandel, Petit Syrah and port. They served it with a piece of dark chocolate, which was amazing. Always friendly service. Lots of friendly locals. And on this Saturday, we had the benefit of getting to hear an amazing singer Jill from the Coastal taproom across the street. Moonstone has Live Music on Sundays. Went wine tasting yesterday afternoon at Moonstone Cellars. They have a HUGE list of both whites and reds and they have that wonderful option where you get to pick which six wines you want to taste, instead of being told what you're going to taste. The sparkling wine was excellent and the reds were all delicious. Michael, the "Pourfectionist" as he calls himself, was very friendly and knowledgeable. We were lucky and the weather was beautiful, so we took advantage of the outdoor patio. read more

Wow I couldn't have picked a better wine tasting experience. We were traveling back to Los Angeles from Monterrey and I wanted to stop by and buy a bottle of wine as a souvenir but I didn't necessarily need to have the full blown wine tasting experience. Moonstone was the perfect spot for us. Parking was super easy and my boyfriend and I split the $20 tasting fee to aid us in our decision of which bottle we wanted to purchase. The service was amazing even after our 6 tasting the kind gentleman even offered if we wanted to try any red wines (because we only stuck with the whites). The room is on the smaller side but it makes for a very special and personal experience. We walked away with 2 bottles and will definitely be returning! read more

We took a drive to the coast and found Moonstone Cellars on Yelp. We had a white flight and a red flight and enjoyed all of the reds and few whites. There were quite a few locals enjoying wine. It's a fune and welcoming tasting room. Nate and Michael took good care of us. We left with Sauvignon Blanc, Tempranillo, Merlot, Petite Sirah, and Cabernet. read more

Our second time here but it had been years. We had a great time. Not really crowded but it was a weekday. The person giving us the tasting was awesome, wish we remembered his name. He was informative without being overly intrusive. Gave us great recommendations for takeout for dinner and they accommodated our dog! Wines are solid too. Very approachable and great variety. If you're in the area and like wine, stop here! We were the couple that rated the wines based on hot tub comparability. I think your staff will know who we are! We'll be back! If I could give this tasting room more stars, I would. Not only did it deliver delicious wine, it gave me one of my favorite moments of the trip. Every red I had was excellent. My personal favorite was The Zinfandel. But what made this room special was Michael behind the counter. Having someone who cares about the wine and is truly knowledgeable makes the tasting experience so special. Fantastic vibes, music, and wine. Really a special place to stop in Cambria. I realized that I never updated my review for Moonstone Cellars. I clearly liked this place, cause ya girl has been a wine club member since 2011 (you do the math). I just recently upgraded my club from 3 bottles to 6 bottles. I basically got a max discount now. Well worth it! The wine is so yummy, you'll want to join this club. The reds are the best, but they have some tasty whites as well. The Cabernet Sauvignon is my favorite, and that they have Petit Syrah, get it. For whites, the Albarino is nice and dry, def not too sweet. Parking wise, there's a lot across the way as well as street. The restroom is located in the parking lot as well. read more

Can't believe I didn't know this little winery existed. My friend and I had just driven through a rainy storm and couldn't wait to settle in with a glass of wine. We decided to order a bottle of wine and we were allowed to taste a few and that helped us make a choice. Staff was super friendly and offered helpful suggestions. Established in 2003.

Conceived in a basement overlooking Moonstone Beach, Todd Clift and his dad, Muril, began making wine in 1998. The hobby quickly got out of control, and blossomed into a full time passion. Todd chucked his corporate job to become a winemaker's apprentice. On April 1st, 2007, Todd opened his tasting room to the public.

We loved the farm environment with a beautiful lawn and tons of room for kids to run around. Dogs are welcome, too! Our server, Stephanie, was also very nice and knowledgeable about the wines. Please know that this is just two people's opinion on the wines. Lots of people must like these wines given the reviews. Again, nice place , nice people, but it was tough to drop $70 on two tastings and not find one wine that we wanted to buy.

Just a couple smalls things to note: The fireplaces outside don't get too hot outside so pack blankets if you plan to hang out! Still fun and cozy! Cambria is way colder than you think it will be!! The bed in our room didn't have a red comforter on it, and my parents room did, I thought it was because we had a dog as a guest but after leaving I see pictures of comforters and dogs in the rooms so I'm not really sure why we didn't get one? When we got there, there was blood stains on the white sheets (just looked stained not fresh blood/dirty) and the girl on the phone was really weird about getting us new sheets and kept saying it's rust not blood but she never even came up to see it...either way housekeeping staff came by a couple minutes later and were very helpful and apologetic unlike her! The morning staff, a young man was very helpful! Someone keeps smoking weed by the fires and he handled it was such haste! It was refreshing! Thank you everyone! We will be back!

However, things have been going downhill drastically the past few years. We believe it's the turn of staffing. There appears to be a lack of pride and "maturity" in customer service & standards. We just returned from our second trip of the year last night. This review reflects this trip, but the previous one was as bad. The rodeo suite (the bridal suite that costs a good amount of money) has multiple issues. The bathroom sink is clogged and doesn't drain. The shower door doesn't close. The bathroom door isn't secure. The workers for the hotel grounds were behind us BY THE WINDOW while we showered. BLOOD and holes on the sheets. The kitchen was filthy - the stovetop, top of refrigerator, interior and exterior of cabinets are covered with grime. Curtains in the kitchen and living area are torn and broken. No wine glasses provided in the suite and the staff wouldn't provide any, yet the restaurant has them. (Seems odd in a bridal suite) This suite and other rooms we've stayed in have ants. Mikey & Angel are extremely rude and dismissive - not only our experience, but other patrons that gathered & compared stories. Last visit we received a refund for issues, but this visit we didn't bother discussing these concerns, as the staff was so rude to patrons it seemed they wouldn't care about standards. (Mikey needs to be taught to turn and look at customers when they are checking in, rather than dismiss them as though they are not worth his time) The one moment worth a high-five was provided by Bree. Thank you Bree for dragging a bench to our suite so our dog could access the high bed! :) We hope that corporate considers our honest review and those by others to improve the hotel. For the price we are willing to pay we have expectations of a more elevated experience as we have had in years past. Nice little tasting room and the lady that works there is HYSTERICAL! It's completely worth stopping in just to have some tastes with her. They do waive the tasting fee with purchase. We visited this time as part of the "Wine for Wildlife" fundraiser, which was a $40 weekend passport to visit 9 wineries (3 tastes/winery). Cayucos Cellars tasting room is lovely. There is also an outdoor patio. We were welcomed by Paige, who is friendly and personable. Our 3-pour "Wine for Wildlife" tasting flight included a Rose' of Grenache, a 2017 Pinot Noir, and the "Rustic One", which was a blend of petit Sirah, Syrah, and Grenache. All were delicious. We bought a bottle of the Rustic One. Looking forward to coming back and giving their full tasting flight a try.

We're wine club members. We only had about half an hour to taste, so we sped through the the tasting menu. This is a nice little tasting room with a bar and sofa, chairs, and table inside, and numerous small tables and chairs outside in a small courtyard that is enclosed on three sides looking out to the street. Black Hand does mostly red varietals, and that's what we tried on this day - Grenache, Tempranillo, Merlot, Cab. Sauv., Petite Verdo, and Sarah. Tom is a great wine maker, and we always enjoy everything he puts in front of us. The prices here are reasonable, and wine club members get 25% off their wine and 35% off on cases. Cost per bottle ranges from about $40-$50. Tastings are free for up to four people if you are member; otherwise, it's $15 per tasting waived with the purchase of two bottles.

Once she mentioned that it was also legal to take the wine to the park, as long as you had a lid, I was in, as I had an escape plan if it didn't work out with my family!! From that point on, it was a really fun and magical tour of the entire lineup of Austin Hope--with many really enjoyable whites and reds. Alli also offered up revisits and other bottles that weren't in the lineup...and she was super knowledgeable about all the wines, since that is what she is studying at school. When my wife came with our son, Alli also really engaged both of them with both the wine lineup and juice for my son, being really kind and generous to both of them and I could tell they both really liked her as well. So, this ended up being the perfect spot! I guess my instincts were right!! Of course, we were going to buy a couple of bottles to get the tasting fee waived and to repay her for her kindness...however, we loved the experience and her so much, we ended up buying the two most expensive bottles there.

I was told by the "wonderful owner (a few years back) that this property is the only winery and restaurant in the country with a Michelin Star. I know it's difficult to obtain, I'm not sure how long that star lasts either. 90% percent of the dining is done on the patio surrounding the main room Our server Carley, she was pleasant and tolerated the guests (us) she served. Now the menu is short and expensive, more places & restaurants seem to going in that direction. I really wanted the tomahawk pork chop but I settled with the spring salad and a small portion of King Salmon. Justin's is known for their Burger and a side of truffle fries will put you back a bit. if you have to ask.... The wine was brought out one white and one red. I don't drink but both flavors were applauded. I ordered a bottle of sparkling water. The stories flowed, I didn't really know these folks, they were good AG people from Bakersfield. So we got acquainted, the most annoying thing were the flies. They had those table top fly spinners but on another table so that didn't help us much. The food was delicious, no question although the pasta dish with chicken for L had a very long and dark hair on it you really couldn't miss it. Other than that excitement we all enjoyed our meal. I had a couple slices of the pork, not as tender as I would have thought but it tasted real good. Salad a tad small but flavorful. I missed out on dessert, the wine was enough. Overall a very nice setting with a casual pace, perfect for those special occasions. We had an appointment for 3:30 and the winery closes at 5:00. I would have understood if it was 4:30. I was celebrating my birthday and I mentioned it. It literally meant nothing to her and she never mentioned it in her notes while she mentioned that they will do a chocolate flight with a candle. The guy who helped us with our wine tasting was good but visibly tired. He tried his best. Even arranged a charcuterie board for us. He did mention they were about to close but that made sense. He was genuinely happy to see us when we went inside to pay. The only good deed done to us was asking us if we needed waters for the road. Also I liked the breezy fan feature. The wines are not very appealing. A lot better can be done with the taste,recipes and fermentation process. The prices are very high for the experience and the wines. Next day we went to another winery with Amazing views. They were so welcoming and warm and the moment I mentioned I was celebrating my birthday they were extra pampering. There wine flights were appropriately priced.Every wine we tasted was great and even after my wine purchase I did not feel robbed.That was some unforgettable experience.
