5-Star Workers, but 1-Star Management & Unreliable Pricing I am giving this business 2 stars because there is a massive divide between the quality of the workers and the management's professionalism. The Good (The Crew): The actual work crew was excellent. They arrived the day after the estimate and were incredibly meticulous. They used a smart technique of tying the palm branches and fruit clusters before cutting to lower them slowly to the ground. They were very careful not to let debris fall over the neighbor's fence and didn't damage a single plant in my garden. For the actual labor, they deserve 5 stars. The Bad (The Owner, Fermin): The experience changed when the owner, Fermin, joined them and started working on the Canary palms. Felipe, his brother had originally quoted me a price for 10 palm trees and one additional tree. However, Fermin was unwilling to honor that agreement. He claimed that trimming the Canary palms alone should cost an extra $400-$600--a price difference that was never mentioned during the original estimate. Felipe did not stand by his original word once his brother arrived, and even made excuses that further trimming would "hurt" the trees to avoid the agreed-upon work. The Verdict: Fermin eventually trimmed the Canary palms, but he showed a poor attitude throughout. He complained about the number of leaves and the danger of the spikes, and he did the bare minimum just to say the job was done. It is a shame that such a skilled crew is managed with poor communication and a lack of clear pricing. WARNING: If you hire them, you must get a signed, itemized contract in writing. Do not rely on a verbal agreement, as the management may try to change the terms or complain about the scope of work halfway through. read more

Fermin and his team helped remove 4 banana tree plants from our yard back in Aug. He also pruned and maintained our tall palm trees. We have 4 Mexican needle palm trees that are very tall, and Fermin climbed it himself and pruned them. They cleaned up our yard afterwards. I highly recommend Fermin and his team! Fermin tree service came to prune our tree and remove part of a branch that was overhanging our roof. They were instructed to remove dead branches. Regrettably, they cut significant more of our majestic tree including substantial amounts of live branches and topping off of major branches (see photos). We had a professional arborist come in afterwards. They stated that the tree has been over pruned. No more than 25% of a tree's biomass should be pruned at once. It's going to take years of care to try and recover from the over pruning involving fertilizer, watering every three weeks, and pruning of sprouts from the large branches that should not have been cut. This company is clearly only suitable for complete removal of trees and not any kind of pruning. read more
