I was given a quote to trim a tree on my property after he left a flier on my door. Today, the owner, Jeysson, said he can no longer honor his quote. At the time of the estimate, he said he was fully licensed but when I tried to get the service done, I was told I would have to pay a lot more to get the tree trimmed under a license. He also said he is now working in Pacifica and would not be able to do a job in San Jose. The company doesn't sound very professional operating without a license, yet telling customers the company is licensed. read more

Jeysson did very good job to cut a big oak tree that fell into the road. Some branches actually hitting another smaller tree while two others started leaning into the dangerous state. He promptly came in to asses the damage and give us reasonable quote including another big oak tree that we intend to cut in the front yard. I contacted Jeysson Friday morning for an estimate on Tree and Stump removals. He came to my house and provided a thorough estimate which was produced as an email attachment in a very professional document. I accepted the estimate and Jeysson along with a hard-working assistant removed 2 trees located in the backyard along with stump grinding 3 stumps. They came back to complete 3 more trees the next business day. We have two very large Deodara Cedars which were overgrown and dangerous along with two large Japanese Maples and two other trees. Hired this company after reading Yelp reviews. However, its been a thorough waste of time and money. Save yourself the trouble and hire someone honest. They showed up late for the original appointment with excuses and didn't even care to apologize for making us wait for an hour. Instead they blamed it on us saying we asked them to be there at a later time. The work involved working with two groups together - private trees and community trees. For the private trees, they said they do not remove the dirt after removing the tree. We clearly told them that if they do not remove the dirt, then we will find someone else to do the "entire" job. Immediately they responded, 'okay we will take care of the dirt. we have to bring someone to do it, but we will take care of it.' They offered an attractive low bid for the entire job, kicking out the competition. Once they knew they were getting the job, they called and renegotiated the price for dirt removal every other week. These guys made promises that they cannot keep and reversed the blame to us in a 'he said - she said' manner. They went to the job site several times to check the amount of work involved, so no surprises there. Scheduling was always tentative - "I am trying for next week - may be Wednesday or Thursday'. They dragged the project out for weeks because they cannot set a fixed date and stick to it. They called at short notice on three different occasions, weekends and weekdays and asked if they can do the work "right now". Given the volume of work involved at the job site, we should have been a primary appointment, not 'squeeze me in'. When I asked them about permits to remove the tree, they said the trees are small and in the backyard and don't need city permits. Finally on the day of the job, AFTER they finished the community job, they renegotiated the price yet again for the dirt. They claimed that we did not show them the dirt, even though they went to the job site several times. At this point, we had enough and canceled the private job. However, it was too late to withdraw the community job. They ended up exploiting the situation to get the big job to their benefit. They played cleverly to call us AFTER they started one part of the job. Further, they tried to make us a captive audience by saying: 'We can give you this high price if you accept right now. But if you ask us to come back later, we will charge you even more.' Jeysson tried to defend himself, sending photos, claiming he didn't see the dirt, rewriting history, claiming he is only an employee and a middle-man, and finally 'lawyering-up' on me. At this point, Jeysson also said we do not have permits to remove the tree. As a licensed professional, it is their job to get the permits. And he clearly told me that permits are not required. We do not want to work with people who lack integrity. We'd rather pay a higher price to someone who is honest in their dealings. This company lost a recurring client - if they had done a good job, they would have got repeat business to maintain the community trees every year. Save yourself the trouble from working with this company. They constantly rewrite facts. Why encourage companies who exploit the situation to their short-term benefit? read more

This guy interpreted my unique requirements correctly and executed perfectly on them. My tree wound up with just the right shape and just the right amount of body to create a nice filtered light. (The last guys who tried this made it look like something out of a Dr. Seuss book.)
