He asked thoughtful questions about the job, and offered to swing by, take a look at the situation and provide a bid. My husband and I immediately felt comfortable with Don. In addition to providing a thorough analysis and discussing how one of his teams would take care of the trees, Don bend over backwards to provide fit us into a tight timeline. Because our job was a fairly big job, we had planned to obtain three bids. After meeting Don, we didn't even bother calling in additional bids! Our intuition was right. Don was able to move another job to a later date, to fit us in later that week. He showed up with one of his teams at 8am that same week. Before anything had even been taken out of the trucks, Don went over a detailed plan with my husband and me, and then with his team. It took two full days of working non-stop for Don's team of three men to take care of the job. The team used well-practiced safety protocols, with one working in the tree, the second on the ground directing, and the third handled branch removal and processing. Throughout the day and at the end of the day, the team was meticulous about sweeping and cleaning, leaving no debris behind on either day. Although they are professional and respectful of other people's property, they tend to get carried away and end up cutting most of the branches down in along with a bird's nest or two. After the service crew left. I have watched as a couple of birds flew back to the tree searching in confusion for their home. Also there was a large dead limb, the whole tree was overgrown and lopsided since I neglected it, never had a professional job done on it. Several days later right on time Don showed up with his 3-man crew and big truck with wood chipper attached. One of the men was the climber and he came with full safety gear including helmet and fall-arresting gear which made me feel good to employ a business protecting the workers. The job was scheduled for later that week. 6). The crew arrived at 8:30 sharp. None and I mean none of my plants under the trees were damaged. I have flower beds and I was concerned 7) our yard is completely clean with all branches, twigs and leaves removed. We are so impressed and can see what a great job his crew did. I have used A-1 Tree Service twice in the past and it seems this Company has taken a turn for the worse. Previously, they were fantastic to work with and were very responsive. I have called and left five separate messages with a very rude call support person who said someone would call me back. I have yet to be called back and have opted to go elsewhere. Truly unfortunate as I believe in customer loyalty. I shouldn't have to chase a service provider when I am more than happy to open my check book. I am an avid gardener and put lots of time into my flower beds and was worried they'd stomp and crush everything like that We Care service did for all the landscaping I had under trees. When they left it was like they'd never been there as far as my ground plants went! Not a leaf was harmed! And my trees all looked healthy and fantastic. Fast work and really nice crew. I received a recommendation for this service from our yard service company (Clean Air Lawn Care, also a great company). Don from A-1 came right out to provide a quote and was able to bring the crew out a few days later. They worked on six trees total and also ripped out some mature salvia and lillies that had roots/bulbs so deep that I couldn't do it myself. Again, the absolute best part was how extremely careful they were around my flowers and plants under the trees and next to the bushes that were removed. Nick from A-1 came out to give me a free estimate and was very helpful. He was personable, knowledgeable and he gave me what I think is a very good price on shaping and pruning two large trees. What i liked was that he wasn't pushy to make a sale or anything, he just answered my questions and left. Update: I hired them to prune 2 medium size trees, One orange tree and another lager tree with large white flowers, all for less than $400. They did a good job and hauled away a trash can full of oranges. After a good 9 months the trees look great and oranges are sweet! Almost forgot, they went above and beyond by helping prune some smaller trees and even removing a stump and filling the hole with concrete. No extra charge, they just wanted to help! Oh, yea, Nick is a wonderful person and his crew did an exceptional job. The trimmed my giant Live Oak tree in backyard and two nasty Holly trees, a wild Black Walnut, a wild something growing up against my foundation and some bushes removed, and they topped a large orange tree, all taken care, cleaned up and removed properly.
