Decent place for a quick shopping if you need something, but don't want to drive elsewhere. They have beer and wine. Basically the staple items of a giant supermarket in a much smaller one. Local hometown type feel. This place has been around forever. Prices are very high compared to big supermarkets. Staff can either be real nice or have an attitude, especially when they are busy. The premade meals are not very good. I've tried a variety of them, and found them very bland, flavorless, and sometimes just gross. Sometimes you can find a good deal in the meat or produce sections. This is a wonderful market. They have a little of everything. Great products, and a real butcher to help with meat selections. I have often stopped in when I was missing an ingredient in a recipe and I am always pleased to find it there. Yes it is a neighborhood market but I love the possibility that I will run into a neighbor or friend. Love the small town feel. I have always found that staff goes out of their way to be helpful. This week when I was in I could not reach an item in the cooler and the butcher helped me to get it and then went to find a manager to find out when the milk I wanted was ordered each week. Great local village market selling certified Angus beef well below the pricing of major chain stores. Their deli and bakery depts.are very good as well. This store has a lot going for it and I enjoy supporting local businesses who do an excellent job. You can't beat the customer service! read more

New to town... Best pressed burgers I have had almost ever. Deli meat was excellent, especially seafood salad for the wife. Day old rolls were great, even if "day old"- for 65 cents! Obviously frozen food purchases here are of pure convenience, but they have a great selection. Milk and other products seem very reasonable. Not a bad word to say, and happy they are nearby. I love little local markets like this! They have just about everything...plus some stuff you never figure you would find. At least once a week, we stop in to pick up fixings for our whole family dinner from main course to dessert to beer or wine to go with it. Their butcher section is great with good deals if you look & the meat is fresh. I always find something local that I missed last time like beer or wine or bread or milk or you name it. Second-best roast beef in the Springfield area, second only to Romito's in East Longmeadow. The grinders here are great; filling for an excellent price (12" for $3.50? Unheard of!), and the selection of food is pretty good. It's no Big Y/Shaw's/etc., but it's what you expect from a small-town, locally-owned store. The people are also really nice there, and it's the sort of place where everyone knows you, and more about you than most people find comfortable. It's a small-town thing. read more

I always go here for lunch on my way to work ,the service is awesome and there always right there to help you , have a great special board at the deli with great sandwiches and grinders and always have a nice selection of hot foods as well great hometown grocery store with all the necessities! And in todays economy thats a good thing. And I agree that it's a very friendly place where everybody knows you. Their selection of hot foods to go is also really great. Convenient location, yes. Quality customer service, no. Prices are way too high compared to what you can get the same products for at a Stop and Shop or Big Y. I have both seen and experienced "mommy-shaming" by one employee...and everyone in the store was made aware by this one older, female cashier. Oh well..no pretzel stick for us! The store owner is extremely friendly and helpful when I have encountered him, but the unfriendliness which abounds from the other staff members makes me avoid the place when ever I can. I'd rather go across the street to the Ghandi-mart for an overpriced jug of milk than at 5:30 p.m. on a weekday. read more
