Absolutely love this place. I try to make it in every time I'm in the Naples area, and it never disappoints. I've been coming here for years, since back when they were in a different location than this one. Almost always get the traditional Cuban sandwich with rice and beans. Pro tip, get some of their house made hot sauce to go with your meal. It's phenomenal. I found out today that they've started bottling their hot sauce, so I had to pick up a couple to bring back home to Chicago with me. Used to live in the Miami area and I've had Cuban sandwiches in tons of different restaurants, but for some reason, this one here at Fernandez rises above all the rest. Found this strip mall in Bonita springs area where I meet a friend for lunch. The Cuban resturant had a bunch of lunch specials so we went in for a nice lunch. The server was very nice and kept checking on us. Fast service nice atmosphere and yummy cuban food. I went with the Half Cuban sandwich with black beans, and added a side of sweet plantains. my friend had the quarter (dark meat) chicken with rice and beans. a little heavy for me bit very tasty. A recent lunch had us wanting to come back for another taste of Cuban food. The restaurant decor is meant to remind you of Cuba and it does. The restaurant is clean with good service and the menu offers dishes like chimichurri and picadillo plates, as well as the traditional ropa vieja. There are a variety of sandwiches, including the classic Cuban. I had the chicken tacos, while the fish tacos that hubs ordered were served with a pita bread shell and the rice and black beans that came as a side, were seasoned to perfection. We were both pleased with the delicious lunch and the food certainly does remind me of a past trip to Cuba. There are a variety of Cuban dishes to choose from and we definitely plan to visit again. Located in a strip center . Plenty of free parking . The tostones have a nice crunchy texture and come with a side of lemon garlic sauce . It's a nice compliment. The Fernandez Bruschetta with lobster is OK . Not my fave and I would not recommend . The lobster mix is tiny bits of lobster in a mix of mayonnaise and spices . I did not care for it . The lobster had a fishy taste and I was not a fan . The actual lobster to mayonnaise ratio was minimal and it just seemed the purpose of the heavy mayonnaise mixture was to cut costs to avoid them having to actually use fresh chunks of lobster but still charge a premium price . I paid $20 for three pieces of "lobster" bruschetta. I had to ask each time for service from asking to place my order , water refill, napkins etc . No one ever came by voluntarily although there seemed to be plenty of staff and minimal customers . read more

When in Florida, I always seek out grouper, key lime pie and Cuban food. This spot has a long track record in Naples and we stopped in for lunch today. While the outdoor seating is admittedly on the walkway of a strip mall, the hanging lights try to give it a more festive flair. We were promptly greeted and ordered cafe con leche and mango iced tea. A couple of regulars at a neighboring table said their standing move was to split a Cuban and add rice and beans, so we did just that, adding another half sandwich order for 3rd member in our party. They also recommended requesting their special hot sauce on the side, which was a good tip. The Cubans were huge and a half portion is still a very generous serving. The roasted pork was not too dry, and the sandwich was well-constructed with pickles, mustard, ham, cheese and the just-perfect bread. The hot sauce has a nice tangy vinegar bite, and went well with the sandwich and the sides. We shared an order of maduros and one of tostones as well. Both were on point. Our refills on the cafe con leche were delivered with smiley faces in the foam, by two smiling servers. The staff was just so nice and friendly. Though we had really no room, my husband cannot pass up house-made Tres Leches. We got one piece of cake with 3 spoons. The cake was delicious (although the extra drizzle on top sent the sweet-o-meter soaring). Would absolutely return and repeat this order! read more

Several times a year my wife and I have business in north Naples and always use that as an opportunity to stop at this Cuban cafe. I have probably been there about 9 times in the past two years and each time it seems better than previous. My wife loves the Cuban sandwiches, which easily cover two meals. I like the chicken with yellow rice and black beans, and a side of black beans, always. We both like the Dulce de Leches cake or the flan. We always get several containers of the black beans to take, in addition to the leftovers. It's easy to find, available parking always present, and close to I-75, to head back. Food was bland with no taste at all. The food wasn't hot it was lukewarm and to make matters worse. I was about to eat my salad when I picked up my tomato and found plastic with serial numbers on it on my cucumbers.. My server came and looked at it and said what's wrong I showed him my plate. He didn't see it so I showed him a picture of it that I took with my phone to show him a closer picture. He said oh I'm sorry and he left serve some other people and then came back and told me he's taking it to the kitchen to have them look at it My service was nonexistent we were sat by the hostess, which was our server as well he seated us, got our drinks and then proceeded to see other people serve them their drinks and their food before we received ours. We were never asked. Would you like another drink? Would you like anything else or anything? He proceeded to serve other people even people that came for order out orders he took their order until their money and everything before he finished serving us after he took my food to the kitchen. He came back and gave us. The check-in only said oh I took your meal off and that was it not sorry that it happens. Sorry for the inconvenience or anything like that. Just gave me the check with my mail taken off nothing to other than. Would you like something else? Why would I want to eat somewhere where I found paper and something in my food the ambience on the other hand was beautiful. I like the way the restaurant was set up. Amazing food! The service was a little slow, but it is a small cafe, and we were there at off time. Husband had a Cuban sandwich, which he really enjoyed. I had pollo Cubano, which was deliciously seasoned! The restaurant itself was just a strip mall space, with tired decor and dirty floors, but they did have time to put up a Christmas tree in early November! My family loves going to this place for comfort food. I got the Ropa Vieja with rice and black beans and it was so amazing. The rice and beans are always seasoned perfectly. I get this every time because it really tastes like a home cooked meal and it's always so flavorful. We also got the Pollo Fernandez which is also so good. I had the paella, and the seafood was cooked perfectly, but the flavor was meh. We've never had Cuban food before, so maybe it's supposed to be on the bland side, but we expected stronger flavors. DH had a ground beef dish, and DD had a chicken & rice dish similar to my paella. Maybe we should have ordered the cuban sandwich or the black beans? My girlfriend and I hit Fernandez Bull Cuban Cafe a couple weeks back during a visit to the Fort Myers area. It was our first stop after picking up the rental car. We shared Yucca Rellenos and a Keys Cuban (Cuban sammich with Lobster). The Yucca Rellenos left a little to be desired, but I am sure they were prepared exactly per traditional recipes, just wasn't our favorite, seemed like a lot of dough and very heavy. Now the Keys Cuban, that was one of the best sammiches I've had. Very good flavors, everything seemed fresh and it was just an awesome, unique take on a classic. The Cuban coffee was just as I remember from my Miami days. I would definitely recommend this place, but maybe try a different app. The service was awesome and very quick for as busy as it was. read more

I was happy to see there were several salad options. I ordered the salad with corvina: Tasty fish atop basic lettuce and tomato with a garlic sauce. The sauce was on the fish even though I had asked for it on the side. The salad could have used some more sauce or dressing but I just ate it dry. I tasted the pork in 18 year old's sandwich. One of our very favorite places to eat in Naples has let us down three times in a row! Pork sandwiches with little taste, on bread that was either on the grill too long or very stale.
