Ordered a caldo de gallina through Uber Eats and, quite honestly, I've never been more disappointed. I don't order Peruvian food often around here because when you grow up eating food made by Peruvian grandmothers and home cooks, your palate becomes a little demanding. Authentic Peruvian comfort food is hard to fake. The disappointment started before I even took a bite. The soup was packaged in a tall Styrofoam container with a weak, sloppy lid that broke during delivery. Half the soup ended up in the bag. The Uber driver clearly tried his best, but if your packaging can't survive a normal delivery, that's already a bad sign. What little remained arrived cold. After transferring it to a bowl and reheating it, I discovered the real problem: the broth was swimming in oil. I spent more time skimming grease off the top than I did waiting for the order to arrive. And then there was the salt. This soup was saltier than a fisherman's pants. I managed to eat the chicken, noodles, and egg, but the broth itself was nearly inedible. Had I actually finished the soup, I might have needed a blood pressure monitor afterward. Caldo de gallina is supposed to be comforting, rich, and healing. This was cold, greasy, and overwhelmingly salty. Between the poor packaging and the disappointing quality, this was a complete miss. After enjoying some really great Peruvian meals oversees, I thought it might be a letdown to eat Peruvian food in a local restaurant. Well, this is a good restaurant to enjoy a reasonably priced meal. The menu is full of good dining options, including the Tacu Tacu, or mixed beans and rice, with your choice of protein, a good variety of seafood dishes, soups, ceviche and Lomo Saltado, to name a few. We both went for the Lomo Saltado, which is a stir fried beef with onions, tomatoes, served with brown sauce, potatoes and rice. Hubs added chicken to his order, and the food was good and served fast. It was disappointing they didn't offer any of the great table salsas that make Peruvian food even better. A spicy Salsa de Aji or Salsa de Rocato would have been perfect. Anyway, we were pleased with the meal and the cost was reasonable. Our server was attentive and ready to recommend dishes for those who aren't familiar with Peruvian food. They make an effort with their service and it's worth a visit. read more

I'm usually going to restaurants a little bit on the upper side of the price but Aji Lemon is not too far from where I need to go so I thought I would give it a try. I love it. The staff is young and very courteous. They are kind, fast, and always smile. I take always the steak with the rice and the egg, as well as a good glass of wine. The food is always fresh, I went there maybe 20 times now. The place is clean, the ambiance is family oriented, which I like even if I always come alone, I feel like being at a family gathering! Finally, the price is incredibly low, they didn't take advantage of people during inflation and you can get a good dinner for $30. Needless to say, I'm generous on the tip! The service was off the chart. The two dishes featured here were insane. The Tres Mares features ceviche, chaufa which is just fried seafood and a Peruvian take on paella. The ceviche was okay. I've had better. But the other two were absolutely insane! The fried fish was cooked to perfection and so well seasoned. The paella was something you don't want it to end. The second dish is potato with a sauce I couldn't tell you what is made of but also just as good. The only reason this place is not getting five stars, it doesn't have Pisco. Perus Narilla liquor. I haven't been here in a very long time so I decided to try it again for old times sake. It wasn't too busy around 6pm on a Saturday evening. I ordered the seco combinado and my husband got the ceviche mixto. The ceviche was really good and the papa a la huacaina was really good too. The seco combinado unfortunately was not what I expected. The beans were too salty and the meat was cold as ice. I had to let the waitress know and all they did was reheat it. Sadly we got there and the welcoming was not the warmest. After they said "any table you like" with out a Good afternoon, welcome, etc. We took a table. They have no menus (COVID?) to me was like less work for them... after more than 10 minutes no one went to our table. They only have 9 more customers in the dining room. After waiting and waiting we notice that they greet a party of three people in a very friendly way; probably regular customers. They kept ignoring us, so, we just get up and left. They definitely miss the opportunity to having us as customers! If I don't get a nice Welcome when I'm going to a restaurant I won't spect a good experience. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! I wish I could give 0 stars to this restaurant. My husband and I went to take lunch after a long day and we order a ceviche and a chaufa spaghetti. We get the food and the ceviche was fine , but the spaghetti was too salty , so very politely I ask to our server please to change the food , I even apologize but I could not eat that , so she says sorry and goes to the kitchen (they have kind of an open kitchen )and the chef starts to yell what do they want this is not salty they are annoying !!! he yells so loud that we can hear him from the tables and he keeps repeating over and over same thing so loud then ..he starts to yell yo his coworker as well , 2 grown up lady's who get very nervous with that abusive man , my husband was about to jump from the table and teach him how to treat to the 2 lady's and customers , so we decided to leave we paid for my husbands food and I did not ate . Was hesitant to stop here because didn't have great reviews, but noticed the most of the negative reviews were because of service. So we decided to stop by for lunch for a group of 7, however our group kept growing and by the time we were done there were a total of 15 of us. The restaurant was very accommodating. Our food was brought out quickly and everyone enjoyed their meal. I don't remember our servers name but she was from Venezuela and was excellent. Neither my husband nor I had ever had Peruvian food before - except for one beautiful cookie that one of my friends had brought to me from Aji Limon. I've thought of that cookie for ages, so we decided to celebrate our 32nd anniversary there. We started with an appetizer that was an ahi tuna salad topped with mashed potatoes. Surprising combination and really yummy. My husband had the Peruvian pot roast (so tender) and I ordered an incredible combo plate (which was so big we could've split it) of seafood paella, fried seafood, and ceviche. I've never had such a lovely combination of dishes, each with beautiful fresh fish and seafood, and totally different flavors. Every bite was a delight. I loved the paella and crispy fried seafood, but I believe the ceviche was the best I've ever had - and the last time I had it was at the Ritz. It was so tender and fresh. Definitely what I'm ordering next time we go, which will be soon. My Chardonnay was perfect with the seafood. And, of course, there's that cookie I've remembered so fondly. It's two fall-apart tender heart-shaped shortbread-like cookies with tres leches filling. Even better than I remembered. Our host, Juan, was very thoughtful and caring, as was everyone else there. We tried the Peruvian pot roast was served with beans and onion salad and it was absolutely superb. We also ordered the whole snapper which was fresh and perfectly cooked. They are located in a small plaza located next to Marco's pizza and Metro PCS. The interior of this little restaurant is very modern and beautiful and they serve beer and wine. There were many ceviches available to choose from but were a bit expensive so we didn't order or try them. Service was very pleasant. read more

We tried the Pargo Frito & Pescado a lo Macho & camarones. The whole snapper fried delivered a refreshing salty citrus twang. Major letdown. To keep it short and simple the service was OK, the place wasn't too rundown and the food was mediocre at best. My shrimp & fish ceviche (recommended by our waiter) was crap. $18 for tilapia and frozen farmed shrimp. One of the worst ceviche I have ever had and not just because of the crap seafood used but because it was way over salted to boot, pretty pathetic considering it's Peru's national dish. Saddest part was the fact that their frozen Sysco french fries were the best thing served, doesn't say much does it? The Jalea was too breaded and it lacked flavor. The pasta did not taste like pesto but the bistec was seasoned well. The Tacu Tacu was a very small portion. Came for lunch and was super disappointed with the over all ambiance of the restaurant. First thing that set me back was the disgusting smell of sulfur! The sewer smell was so overpowering as soon as I walked in. Still stayed and ordered the lomo saltado which didn't taste bad, the flavor was great but there was very little lomo and a TON of over fried frozen French fries that were soaked in sauce but were hard AF! There was one server who was super attentive and very sweet, but the one who sat us down and took our check literally looked like she was dragging sand bags with her feet. Moving as slow as humanly possible. customer service is key and it was lacking today. Don't think I'll be back anytime soon. read more
