This is probably one of the best breakfast places we ate at in Naples. Believe it or not Naples doesn't have the best food unless it's seafood and it's great. But of several ones we visited this one had excellent service and great Cuban coffee, we went twice that week and look forward to visiting again when we get back to Naples read more

I ordered a Churasco(Grilled Beef Skirt Steak) that came with the choice of 3 sides: I got Black Beans, Fried Plantains, and a Salad! They serve nice Cuban coffees (I asked for little sugar). Juicy little empanadas with a corn crust. Their ham and cheese omelette was really good. The Cuban bread was very crusty - could have used some butter. The steak and egg breakfast was okay - a huge portion include healings of tender rice and beans. The steak is thinly pounded and a bit dry. The masa cake was great. Unpretentious little mom and pop joint. Don't expect a ton of service. Went here for lunch today with my wife after seeing the great reviews for this place and I had a hankerin' for a Cuban sandwich. Even at 11am the place was hoppin' but we only had to wait about 10 minutes for our food, which was fine. I ordered the Cubano and my wife ordered the Chicken Sandwich. Both turned out great. They were actually very large portions and we both only ate half of the sandwiches and we'll have leftovers for lunch tomorrow! My Cuban sandwich was pretty good. I've actually had better -- but only once at a place oddly enough back in Charleston, SC. I'm looking at you Moe's Crosstown Tavern. But this was still very good... fresh crusty bread that was pressed but not too smooshed. Generous portions of meats and toppings. Good stuff. I asked my wife to provide some comments on her meal and she told me that i'm "allowed" to post a 5 star review. Very underwhelming flavor. I really hate giving low review scores but it does not warrant a 3 Star review. It's that disappointing. I was searching for a different Cuban place (out of the millions in Florida) but when I wasn't able to find it I stopped here as it also said Cuban food. I ordered the Cuban sandwich, after a little bit of a wait. The sandwich looked really nice, it had Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top (which I thought was strange). The pork did not taste fresh, this was the beginning of the let-downs. The ham was also generic, not the tastiest. The parmesan cheese only gave the sandwich a stale cheese aroma as you bit into it. It was not good, I ate it only because I had spent $8 on it. Service was a bit slow, but not bad. Overall the reason for the score is the flavor, it does not match the competition. I much prefer La Isla Cuban food that is nearby. This spot may have good Colombian food, so until I try that portion of the menu it will be a 2 for me. read more

They make really good food. Cuban, Colombian, and Venezuelan dishes. Oxtail, cheese bread, choclo (corn) pie, tequenos were delicious. Empanadas I liked the least, maybe because it was the end of the day and the dough was a bit tough. They also serve real fruit juices from fruit pulp. I tried soursop with water, and it was good. Was on the fence about coming here since my husband wasn't thrilled that I made our one Cuban restaurant stop into a Cuban sandwich tour. This was a mom and pop shop (with both mom and dad working the restaurant). Got here maybe just half hour before their 3pm closing time. Ordered the half Cuban sandwich meal which came with rice and beans (the mom took my order). Looked around as we waited (admired their extensive Spanish soda collection, learned that there is actually a fruit out there called a guanabana, and contemplated getting their avocado smoothie but decided not to). As I was waiting, the pop said "hi, how are you" to me, which I made awkward since I missed it and needed him to explain what he had said to me, lol. The food came out pretty quickly. As others mentioned, their plastic wrapping is a nice touch to prevent spillage, though in my case I probably would've been ok since they put the beans in a smaller container with a lid inside the bigger container (also a nice touch). The Cuban sandwich looked small at first glance, but it was so good. So much flavor oozing from the unsuspecting sandwich! They used a good amount of cheese in the sandwich which really helped bind it. Not sure what kind of cheese they used but it was delicious. The rice and beans were both really good too (still good when we ate it cold, still good when we took the sandwich back to NY and reheated it in our toaster oven). The rice and beans were good so I'm glad I got a chance to try it, but wish I had ordered a full sandwich too since it was delicious. If I am ever back in the area, would definitely return to try other things from their menu! read more

We ordered 2 Cubans and not impressed at all, the bread was over toasted old Cuban bread, the sandwich had Parmesan cheese it made it taste like pizza, the ham and pork were lunch meat or processed meat. Not the Cubans I am used to, not satisfied at all. Not looking to visit anymore. until they get a good recipe to make a tasting Cuban they can charge $10.00 for. I've been driving past the guy with the Mango's Cuban Cafe sign on Airport Road for a while and decided it's about time I gave them a visit. Signs of a restaurant that I'm probably going to like: * Off the beaten path * Random location * Ethnic/authentic type of joint * Portion/Cost ratios in the upper echelon * Friendly staff Mango's met that criteria and introduced me to another new dish on my life's culinary adventure. I can't even remember the name of it as I'm typing this, but if you look at my pictures, then you will see it. It reminded me of a Sope from a local taco truck. It had shredded beef on a plantain based with cheese, slaw, sauce, etc.. I don't think anything on the menu cost more than $6. Once I have a chance to try out more of the menu items, then I may up the review another star. If you haven't tried them out, then give them a shot. read more

Located in the center of Naples near Orange Blossom and Airport pulling in the middle of the industriel/commercial sector where all the home improvement designers and suppliers are, you can find this strip mall small joint which serves the best homemade Latin food with no pretention but all the great flavors of a comfort food that has noting to do with fast food. Just great grandma recipes. Prices are good, quality, taste and colors are part of the enjoyment. The owner will share is passion of his country food with a great smile. If you're looking for a cafe con leche, tostada and a ham croqueta to start your day, you've found the right place. "Hole in the wall-esque", your concerns are left at the door once you're greeted by the kind ladies behind the counter and see the clean and neat decor. We got there by 10:30 and were able to still order breakfast before the 11am cut off. We ate the Omelet de la casa which is an omelet that has finely chopped onions, green peppers, tomato's, ham, bacon, and cheese. It comes with a tostada (Cuban bread and butter pressed down to toasted perfection.), and a cafe con leche (a perfected version of a latte...ask for it with sugar.) Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced. It's in an industrial area but easy to find and parking available. They serve only breakfast and lunch only and can order lunch as early as they open. I saw a lot of people ordering to-go. read more

I didn't get the sauce to go with it, not sure if they no longer have it or they just forgot to give it to me, but the sauce makes the empanadas. This restaurant is so popular at 12 noon with workers on lunch break that I couldn't get a parking spot. Eaters were streaming in to pick up take out orders. I eavesdropped, a majority of the customers spoke Spanish, I took that as a sign that the food is authentic Cuban, Colombian and Venezuelan. The menu is well organized and translated into English so it was easy to order. I had arepas with chicken and processed cheese slices. Each component was OK, especially the homemade arepas and the chicken in piquant sauce. I don't like processed cheese but perhaps that's the way it should be made. In any case, despite the components being good, the finished product was under heated and mediocre. Next time I ordered, I'll remember to ask for "SUPER HOT". The people in the table next to me told me that they eat here several times per week. Their favorites were the Cuban sandwich and fried fish. The sides looked good. They also ordered coffee in tiny cups. When you're in the neighborhood looking for a diner lunch, this restaurant would be a good candidate. Try the fish and ask for the arepas to be hot enough so that the cheese is melted. read more

You'll miss this place if you blink- so get out the magnifying glass and saddle up. I smartly ordered the pork plate- about $5- which came with a side of rice and beans. TBone got some sort of sammy with plantaines because he likes that sort of thing. We BOTH got sodas that were not in English- things one might find in a bodega in the Bronx- awesome. I like my lunch joints like I like my lunch trucks: cheap, rough around the edges and cheap. This place had all of that. AND the baby was able to chow down on the rice from my plate. My favorite food I can eat here everyday, this food is amazing. Actually my goal is to become rich so I can afford eat at this place everyday, coming from a person that cooked at home to save money. They're always nice! The service is great and I'm pretty sure that the food cooked with a lots of love and I always feel like I'm eating at home. My family love this place is children friendly.
