Food is ok and service is ok. There are many better choices around the lake. I have been there several times and it is just ok.

Went for lunch after a doctor visit next door. Ordered the chicken soup (described as stew) and my daughter had a salad w chicken. Waited 40 minutes for the food to be served. When I asked about what was taking so long, the response was the soup. Soup had a good broth flavor, one small chicken leg, a thigh with most of the meat missing, TWO pieces of carrot, ONE small piece of zucchini and nothing else. $11 bowl and a forty minute wait... Salad had chopped up frozen chicken patty and rock hard croutons. Disappointing, soup and salad should be easy to get right. Two stars for the service by Wendy. Friendly and efficient. Wasn't her fault the food took so long and wasn't good. Might try a traditional dish, if ever I stopped in again. Not sure I would, given the lack of quality and quantity of what we were served. read more

Let's talk food!!! Starting off with the chips and salsa, the chips were good but a little hard and the salsa was not so good and missing flavor and spice I like a little kick. Though almost filling up on chips due to our wait for our food 45 minutes later after ordering when the tables were not full and had a hand full of people I can only imagine if the place was full. The service got a little better as we waited sat there at first waiting 20 min for my first refill. Ok food wise the wife and I had stuffed avocados but our order was wrong and we had to wait another 10 minutes or so for our food to come back out, the stuffed avocados were good had good flavor but that's the only thing good I found at this restaurant I also had a taco but for the price I paid they didn't even put barley any meat in it that's what you expect Mexican moms would shame this place for it's tacos, the places I've been stuff their tacos they want you to leave full I was not impressed but the flavor was there. I like the small Mexican restaurant decor and it was decent inside but I can't say I'll be back here I give this place 2 stars. They need to realize this is a restaurant business and no one wants to wait so long for there food to where they are about to leave even if the food was good and had some flavor but for this I'm not impressed and not willing to wait. Hopefully they read this and hear for the prices they charge the service and the serving portions need to be a bit better and larger. Hopefully they do get better. Will post pics later . Been here twice before and service was ok , came in tonight and spent $80 only for the food to be overcooked and under seasoned. Ordered a dos xx before my meal and one with but never received the second. Queso came out room temperature. We got the fajitas for two combo and the shrimp fajitas as well which was the overcooked onions and only one pepper in the whole dish. I've worked in customer service for 5 years and this was one of the worst places I've been to. Upon leaving I dropped some of the salsa mixed with the queso that I was taking Togo that I did not eat, and the server was nice enough to offer another but the owner said I'd have to be charged for another. So sad. We were in the area looking for a patio to eat on. We had our little 8lb. ESA (emotional support animal) dog with us and needed a place to eat lunch. I stood outside while my family went inside to inquire about sitting on patio to eat. This place would not allow us to eat there with the dog. Again, she is an ESA dog and I have all of the paperwork necessary to show she is legit. They would not allow us to eat at their establishment, even though it was against the law for them to discriminate. I do have plans to have my lawyer contact them. I don't want anything from them. They just need to understand that there is something called the law and they need to follow it. Fortunately, we went down the road and there is a place called Vernon's that IS dog friendly and they were awesome. Great food, great atmosphere! So, don't waste your time at this crap hole. read more

one star for appearent cleanliness, and one star for the cleanliness and first persona of our our wait person. Fernandos was either our very first or second restaurant we tried here 7 1/2 years ago and have returned many times, but this visit was not even close to what we had become accustom to. Beef Fajetis were old and dry, yet nice flavor. Only meat that was in direct contact with cast iron severing piece was 'sizzling hot'. All others were ***below Health dept. standards of severing temp for "Hot food". I asked to sub one (1) extra dolup/2 TB of guacamole in place of rice, beans, & totillas because of diet concerns, at a surprising cost of $3.75. Stuffed Avocado was stellar. Butter to accompany tortillas for that dish did not come until the meal was over. That was when we were given our FIRST opprotunity to order a second Margerita. Were never asked "how is everything?" or more appropiatlely how WAS everything. The abject sceaming,yelling and running of two children in our outside dinning area did not help matters. Absolutely worse experience. Salsa tasted like Watered down stewed tomatoes from a can. Service slow. Drinks tasted watered down. Will never go here again. Too many other Mexican food resturants with much better food. read more

12/24/2020. I understand times are tough right now, so we decided to support a local business. However, upon arrival we were abruptly told to leave... My family and I (grandparents, 2 little sisters, and my girlfriend) arrived at the restaurant at 2:41 PM. Before walking in, we noticed a sign on the door that said something along the lines of "On Christmas Eve (12/24) we will be closing at 4 PM". We looked at our phones and realized we were well ahead of that time (nearly 1.5 hrs). So we walk in and noticed a large table, party of 10+ sitting down eating and maybe another table or 2 occupied. The female owner than walks by, notices us, gives us a stern look and then ignores my grandmothers question on where we could sit. The owner than has an employee walk up to us and states "Sorry were closed. We're not seating any other tables because we're also trying to get home for the holidays." My grandma then says "Well the sign outside says y'all close at 4 so that's why we came inside". The employee then tells us "Sorry were just trying to get home by 3." The employee wasn't as rude as the owner for ignoring us, but it was just a terrible first experience for myself, overall. There was no sympathy or even a warm apology from the owner herself. Based off of that 1 minute encounter, I'd not recommend this restaurant to anyone based on customer service alone, which keeps any great business alive! 1/5 Stars. read more

I ate here for the last two weekends because the food and service were both top notch. I had a dish called Fat Mike's I believe. Two cheese enchiladas topped with queso, fajita steak and pico. Always kinda empty.. chips and salsa are both 7 out of 10. Carne asada was as tough as boot leather. Food lacks seasoning and is thrown together with little passion. Numerous family and or friends standing around or sitting at the bar wearing Fernandos t-shirts. Are they working or just scamming free food and drink? Ask for an extra shot of tequila in your margarita and you will be charged $6 on top of the $7 for the margarita! Just like Hector's, El Jacalito, and others... good luck surviving in the next economic downturn. Just another lake area business that wouldn't survive a week competing in the big city. read more

Got my food and it warm to the touch. I couldn't even eat my food told her to just take the food away. she told me she had to talk to the management: when I went to pay the manager and server argued with me about the food. Told me I had to pay for the food when I didn't even eat it. Then the management and server proceed to argue with me at the register. Proceed the day service was horrible, only seen the serve 3x throughout the 2 hours we were there, food was cold, and the management Horrible. Will not return to this establishment read more

This is the same place as el Porto de Jaripo. I'm writing the same review. Good hot sauce and food. Good price on margaritas. Only thing was that unless you sit on patio atmosphere is not great on inside. They needed some music and better lighting. When I take my friends here or anywhere I really want great atmosphere. That's a big thing to me on rather I'll go back. If it's dingy or depressing inside I'd rather take my food to go and eat at home. read more

Slow wait times unfortunately. Our waitress seemed in a hurry the whole time even though the place was dead. She was very rude and like to talk over my table while we attempted to order.
