I was unsure of this place due to ratings but love to eat at family run local establishments. Everything about this was amazing. The waitstaff was great and gave us ample time. The prices on meals and specials were unbelievable. Our food was at the very top of our best Mexican food ever and closely resembled our all time favorite in taste. We both had top shelf margaritas for $7.99. They were really good too. We plan to eat here more times before we leave the area. The prices here make it comparable to buying things to cook at home. We also liked it that the tables were far enough apart that the noise level was low. This is a hidden gem. read more

If you order a to go order I would advise to let the manager in charge, take your order because it's the only way to have your order done correctly. My low review is due to the fact that when concerns were raised with the management, they only were concern in you not voicing your concerns, service and the food is good, but since they tie up the bags your order is in if you don't check you may get something else and be disappointed. read more

Went there last night and had a bad experience. I know it is a Mexican food place but I have seen several people order catfish plate so I thought I would try it. Two big filets cooked in old oil. The tartar sauce was in small packets (2). Just couldn't get over the old oil taste of the fish. My wife had Mexican food and she was satisfied. The waitress took about 10 minutes to come take our order. Hope this was just a bad day. read more

Our first time here because our friend a recommended their Friday night margaritas. We didn't get a very warm welcome. The place was pretty busy and we were told to sit anywhere. We walked to the back but could not stand the thick cigarette smoke in the bar so we found a table up front near the kitchen. The chips, queso and salsa were bland at best. We ordered fajitas and margaritas. The waitress, Wendy seemed a little put out that I had questions about the menu. The fajitas have a "sauce" poured over them that we didn't really understand. I would say the service was the biggest disappointment. I'll give the food 2 stars, margaritas 3 stars and service one star. Hey, we gave it a try and left a nice tip for Wendy. We have eaten here several times, this is the first time the food was sub-standard. Very disappointing! The biscuits were hard around the sides, gravy was cold, eggs over medium were not cooked in the middle, sausage was not cooked, just warmed. Totally not the norm. read more

The food selection is really good and I have had no issues with bad food. They have a good selection of drinks and they are usually busy, which is a very good sign. Only complaint I have is that there are not enough servers to tables so sometimes you do wait for refills and to order. read more

This place was close by as I was getting off work, & it was still open. Parking was not a problem here, my server was friendly & helpful all night. No complaints about the restrooms, as I think they may have had 2 stalls, but I don't remember for sure. There were some vegetarian-friendly options on the menu. I may have had either a cheese chile relleno or spinach enchiladas. Whatever it was, it was delicious & I would order it again if I visited again sometime. They were out of Tres Leches Cake, but my server recommended some alternatives, so I had a praline cheesecake, which was delicious! I would love to come back here! read more

Great Tex-Mex food, lots of seating, great prices and generous seating areas. Decor is dated and needs some upgrades. Very casual atmosphere so dress accordingly. Has mixed drinks and beer. Good for lunch time and dinner, not so much in between those times. read more

Have been going to this place for years. This is my go to spot every time we come into town to visit. It can get a little on the loud side when the dude is up there singing, so if you are sitting close you have to yell at anyone amongst your table for them to hear you... This had been my favorite restaurant for many years. I recommended it to all my friends. The afternoon before Mothers Day this year one of my sons took me there to eat. We sat in the bar area we ordered and received our drinks and that was the last we saw of any wait staff. We waited almost 45 minutes, my son even called the restaurant. We heard the phone ringing and could see people walking around but no one answered the phone. We stopped to pay for our drinks but they hadn't even been entered into the computer. We got no apology, just the drinks were free because they weren't in the system. I have not and will not be back. read more

The food is mediocre at best. The service was lousy, the waiter literally did not come back to our table after giving us our food, until we were finished eating. The cashier and another waitress walked past our table several times, without asking if we needed anything, seeing that our glasses had been completely empty for some time. This place has good Tex-Mex food at reasonable prices. It was our favorite place to go for Tex-Mex but found another place we like just a little bit better. It used to be Fiesta Grill but has new owners operating under the name of San Ramon's Grill. It's on 198 in Mabank. Although the food is good at El Jacalito we like San Ramon's a bit better. At San Ramon's the food is tastier and fresher. It's quieter there so you can hear what your dining partner is saying. We go to San Ramon's every Friday for our Tex-Mex fix!! The service is excellent. Prices are about the same as at El Jacalito. read more
