I let him know that I was flexible and would work with him. I understand that things happen and sometimes you can't come on the day that service is scheduled. For a while he communicated if he couldn't come because it was raining a lot, there was something wrong with his vehicle, or he hurt himself and had to take some time off. I completely understood every situation and was very flexible. Recently, he was scheduled to come and he didn't. There was no call or text. I texted and called him three times that day: in the morning, afternoon, and early evening. No reply. I wondered if something had happened. The next day I started looking for a new gardener just in case as back up. It was later in the day that I get a text from him that he couldn't come any more because he wasn't getting paid enough. My thought was: well, whose fault is that? You don't communicate that you're needing to raise your rate? I would have completely understood and would have worked with him. But he didn't give me the opportunity to do so. This was very disappointing to me but hopefully a learning opportunity for Diego. This is not how you do business. If you need to raise your rates, then you let your customers know. It is the right thing to do. This is the reason why I am giving him 2 stars.
