Horrible work, unprofessional behavior, promises but does not deliver. He doesn't follow through with details in contract. If his crew lacks experience in doing a task, he has them just leave it as is and simply tells the customer/me, what I'm asking for "is not possible and he doesn't have time nor the money to try and fix my issues". Every time I'd call for an issue, he'd be upset screaming and threaten to take his people off the job. One day he will be pleasant and easy to work with and the next day he can be disrespectful and unprofessional. On top of everything else, he will be deceitful. He promised me "Duramax" Vinyl fencing. He provided me an invoice specifying Duramax was purchased. Once the job was done, I had already lost all trust in this man and grew suspicious, so I called a Duramax rep to come out and inspect the product....I'm glad I did. The fence he used was a cheap product manufactured in China. I went as far as calling the company shown on the invoice - AG Fencing Supply. They told me they do not sell Duramax and do not sell to contractors. I don't know about the experiences of the other reviewers but I had nothing but praise for the work of Mr Jae Kim. He just completed our complete renovation of front and backyard. He was extremely responsive to my calls and always pleasant to speak to. He went above and beyond; even going to the nursery 4 times with me to pick out plants. His price is very reasonable. I cannot comment on Beto, but I can say that Kim Jae - his parter was the culprit here. My parents hired him to complete some updates to the front of their home in Diamond Bar. My parents are elder, but trusted him for some work he had completed for a neighbor. He convinced them of giving full payment with about 15% of the work needing to be completed. Now the front of parent's home looks sloppy and an incomplete embarrassment. For over two weeks my parents tried to call him to complete the work. He never answered once and never called back. He Ignored their calls. I called and he yelled me for asking him to finish the job. Before the project began, I met Kim at my parent's house and he was a funny and pleasant man. That changed when he dropped his responsibility to complete the work because I'm sure he found more profitable work to do. If you're considering or approached by Kim for a job, be smart and don't pay him in full because he might bail on you, like he did my parents. His work is decent. His prices are average. And if you have sweet and harmless parents like mine, be there to make sure they're not taken advantage of. I wish I was more involved. I do not recommend this company. read more

Beto Lopez is very experienced and runs a great crew. My driveway was so bad and I did not have proper drainage to the street. Water was being drained directly into the ground and it was weakening the property foundation. Well Beto designed and implemented a Sump Pump. Even the city inspector was impressed with the set up and design. I highly recommend Beto Lopez for being professional and knowledgeable and he met my budget nicely. read more

I have been in the General Construction industry for 16 years, so I understand how a good subcontractor should perform and know what quality work is. I was looking for a good subcontractor to redo my driveway with pavers, as I am too busy with work to manage the process myself. I thought going with a licensed subcontractor would help ensure a smooth process, but I found out that isn't the case. I spent a good amount of time looking for the right sub and Beto sold himself well. He wasn't the cheapest which is also a warning sign of a deal too good to be true so I thought based on his reviews, his license, and middle-of-the-road pricing it was a good selection. As soon as the first day of work commenced, I knew it was going to be a struggle. I renovated this property and worked with over 20 different trades to complete the project, and Beto was the most difficult to deal with. On the first day, his machinery leaked hydraulic fluid all over the existing concrete and sidewalk, and he left the site so messy with dirt and debris leading into the street, that the neighbors and city complained. He lacks in communication and when you call to describe an issue or double-check on something he is either hot or cold and could erupt with anger. One day he told me to meet him at 6 pm to review work for the following day. I drove 1 hour in traffic to meet him at the time he specified. After waiting for 20 minutes for him, I called to see what was going on. He picked up the phone and he was irate and yelled "STOP CALLING ME" and screened my call. I met him at the time he specified, he bailed and then screened my call and was yelling at me ???? The following day, he told me he was upset because of the stress of pouring concrete for another job and apologized, and said he was under stress. I have empathy for that, but as someone who is paying 16.5K for a scope of work that is very unprofessional. That is one example of many issues that ensued during the course of construction. He staffed the job with workers that were not qualified, were on their phones a lot, damaged irrigation lines, and backfilled and compacted over storm drain lines. I had to constantly point this out to him to correct it and even had to bring in my own landscaper to supplement and perform the work properly. His workers tried to repair a PVC irrigation line with no PCV Glue and just bury it! I feel bad for those who are not in construction and wouldn't know or catch him performing improper work like I just described above. The problem is that he was too busy, had too many jobs, and didn't communicate properly with the workers he left there and who frankly (did not know what they were doing, or did not care/ take pride in their workmanship). His workers used the wrong materials in locations (paver sealer on concrete, concrete sealer, and pavers) when I went the extra distance and wrote on large sharpies on the bottle to try to make it as easy as possible for him and his workers. He also did not leave the spare material I purchased (paver sand, extra pavers) as he most likely took them to another job. Once something goes wrong, which it will, he or his workers will blame it on you as if you're the problem with communication and take no accountability. Since I know the construction business well I made sure to document every single communication with him for legal purposes, and even with communication documented he will try to lie or twist the story to make it your issue. Be extremely aware of subcontractors like this. He wrote a contract on how the payments would work, but on day 2 deviated from the contract asking for more payments that differed from the payment terms. I am a reasonable guy and would pay him when requested with the hopes he would do the right thing and complete the job with quality and I got burned. Mr. Lopez worked with them on their budget the was fair and reasonable.. Mr. Lopez and his crew did an outstanding and excellent job on the concrete fence.. Especially with a 1/3 of an acre yard.. He was quick with the work and detailed about everything from start to finish.. The project should of have taken longer but he was able to finish much earlier than expected... We didn't have to worry about permits and material he took care of everything.. The quality if their work impressed me allot... I know it was just a fence but its the little things (the straightness, leveling, angles, cuts for the angle, the prepping, and clean up) they took pride in their workmanship.. his workers know what they are doing they are professional at their jobs... If you need anything build in your home pavers, concrete, fence, or whatever structures then I highly recommend Mr. Lopez and his crew... When your in business, it's because the business renders a service or product on a specific date and time as agreed upon with customer. However, this is not the case for this business known as "Beto's Lopez Landscaping." On the scheduled date and time of bid (work) to be done by "Beto Lopez Landscaping," and does not show-up at job site location as agreed upon with customer. Beto (owner) does NOT contact the customer nor attempt to reschedule with customer, meanwhile, the customer awaiting 2 hours for "Beto Lopez Landscaping" arrival at job site location. Beto carelessly did not advise the customer that he had scheduled another bid (work) on the same date and time that Beto had with customer. The customer attempted to contact Beto to cancel the scheduled job. The customer was not able to reach Beto, since the customer's telephone number was blocked by Beto. Customer again called Beto from a different telephone number, Beto immediately answered the call, assuming it was a possible new customer. At this point the customer advised Beto, he cancelled the bid at job site location. Very disappointed with this business. Totally and definitely unreliable, unethical, unprofessional, does not keep a commitment with his customers', as I was one of his customer's to experience his unreliability. My advice, go else where, at least another business can comment to a set date and time of the bid (work). read more
