We went with family which was their only saving grace of this visit! We were seated without menu and no one ever came to table until husband went up to ask for menus for our table! Then three of the four things we ordered they were out of it! We got garlic knots that were dry and flat! Two of the pizzas Ordered were incorrect! They brought Stromboli instead of calzone which is what we ordered! Then my husband gave rewards card and she said this card isn't gift card very rudely! My husband said no it is rewards card and ask if she put order on it and she said yes she did and she didn't put our order on reward card! The Evans store needs to go teach them how to cook and run service as well! read more

Right on Broad St, a great spot if you're local or staying in a nearby hotel and can walk in. Not fancy inside, but comfy. Two reasons I continue to frequent the PJ; the outdoor seating and the pie selections. Also, some of the friendliest team members there are. Outside you have the covered patio with ceiling fans, but let's not kid ourselves. Until you get to evenings in November it is going to be hot. So I prefer to sit at the tables, which are still semi-shaded due to the buildings on either side and the umbrellas. You hear the Broad Street traffic pass, but at a distant. Birds are chirping, someone's dog is begging for a bite of cheese bread. And on Saturday's, you have live music. Then there's the pizza. My all time favorite remains the cheeseburger. No description required; pizza, that tastes like a cheeseburger. Yes, with mustard and pickles included. I also like the new-ish Detroit pies they serve. And you can never go wrong with their cheesy bread. For some, that alone could be a meal. Of course there's a full bar so whatever you're in the mood for, they have it. For the groups, or very tasty, you can get drafts by the pitcher. No better way to spend a evening! read more

I was surprised at the average 3/5 review for this place, but on further reading, it seemed it was an issue of getting food promptly which wasn't a problem for me. Pretty fast overall, a 10 min wait Detroit pizza motor head (4/5): never had this type of pizza. It reminds me of Sicilian but crispier, plenty of cheese and sauce and at 14$ very reasonable cost for the size. Slightly heavy on the dough but so cripsy at the edges and base while being soft in middle. Just the right amount of cupped pepperoni and big sausage chunks. Calzone (4.5/5): super crispy yet pillowy dough within, plenty of cheese and ham and sausage filling. It was super rich and better than calzones from regular chains I've had in the past. Went great with the marinara sauce White pizza slice (4/5): cheesy with tons of mozerella and little ricotta pieces melted in. Very strong garlic flavor. Nice that they sell a lot of variety of pizza by the slice so you can try different pizzas without breaking the bank. Overall I would return. Augusta pizza in general is generally not as varied or plentiful as some bigger citie, and I thought this was a decent spot. Cheap beers too. read more

We thought that this place would be amazing since we have been here a lot but when we order are drinks I order doctor pepper and she gave me sweet tea with I wasn't going to complain. It took forever to get are waiter to get our order. I ordered a pepperoni pizza cut in squares and since I have been her tons of times they always do it. But when the food came out like an hour later then I got a cheese pizza not cut at all but to top it off since she gave me a sweet tea instead of a dr pepper I just asked for a refill of sweet tea then she came back with lemonade ‍ read more

Ordered a large and small pizza to go. Toppings of Pepperoni, Onions and green peppers. Brought home and saw that there was no pepperoni, 6 or 7 small pieces of onions and almost no green peppers. Crust was not thoroughly cooked (we had to finish cooking in our oven.) Price for this poorly prepared wrong order. $46!!!!! Had company at our home so could not return to store. Never again! Quite possibly the worst pizza I've ever had...their margherita was essentially diced stewed tomatoes on a crust resembling wonder bread, if you looked closely, you might find some mozzarella, and the "fresh" basil that was put on before they cooked the pie. Service wasn't anything to write home about, although I did see the bartender spend 5 mins putting her hair in a tie, yet never washed her hands before continuing to serve drinks (at least she doesn't serve food?), oh and if you look up, you'll see basically everything overhead covered in an almost fur-like fuzz of dust, to include the kitchen area....I actually think some of that dust might make their pies more enjoyable. read more

First time at this location in the downtown CSRA area. Been to the location in Evans but not downtown. The atmosphere was not busy at all as there weren't a lot of people during that time. One great thing about this place is that they serve by the slices which is wonderful. They have wings that are delicious but I decided to get a Calzone. The Chauvinistic Pig Calzone was very big and scrumptious and filled my tummy. The marinara sauce was pretty good to dip with. Inside had ham, spicy Italian sausage, pepperoni, bacon season ricotta, provolone, mozzarella, Romano cheese, with some Italian herb blend. Every night was delicious. Definitely a meal that will leave you full until you feel hungry again.....but not for while. read more

Ordered a pretty simple meal, Greek salad and Bruschetta, slice of Pizza and hot Yaki wings. The Yaki wings were wrong, the food was cold and the bruschetta came at the end of the meal with the bill. This place is amazing. Eryka was our waitress and she was kind, knowledgeable and fun! She gave some phenomenal recommendations. We got the garlic knots for an appetizer. Please order these. They are more delicious than you could ever imagine. My husband ordered a michelob ultra and I ordered a strawberry mango beer/wine. I can't speak for my husband but the strawberry mango beer/wine was possibly my fave drink ever. For the entree, we decided to order two small pizza so we could taste two different flavors. We ordered Bleu Buffalo and the bbq chicken. You can't go wrong with either, however Jason and I decided bleu Buffalo won the contest from the two. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant. We have ordered pick up pizza (and also dined in) at Pizza Joint many times over the years. Over recent years, we order the same pizza: The Big One. We always remove onions and substitute with banana peppers. Today, they charged $3.99 for removing onions, adding banana peppers. We questioned and Josh said "We had a price increase." Ok- we get that... but they added the $4 price increase PLUS $3.99 to substitute an ingredient. Josh would not explain the newly added substitution fee on top of the price increase. And nothing was said to me by Josh when I placed the order. So.....$38 for one large pizza...... guess we will "share our pizza love" for other restaurants read more

Oh yeah!!! The Pizza Joint is one of the main contenders for best pizza in the csra. I got the spinach and feta calzone and it was awesome! Really good when i DUNKED it in the marinara, so good! And the pizzas i got were extra mozz, pep, and mushroom and it was fantastic. And the second pizza was alfredo sauce, mozz and prov, and broccoli! I know some people rip on broccoli with pizza but that's cuz they don't order it correctly and they don't know what's good. Take it from me, it was wonderful! The Pizza Joint knocks it outta the park! Don't get their "Detroit pies" though those aren't good at all. read more

I have been three times in the last two months and waited to do my updated review just in case it was a fluke that it was so good ha ha Ha I have gotten the Big Mike sandwich every time and it has been absolutely delicious, loaded with vegetables and cooked to perfection! We waited 20 minutes to be greeted, then 20 minutes for our appetizer, then 40 minutes for our pizza. This lunch lasted 2 hours because our server was nowhere to be found! I have never waited so long for drinks! The server was very nice, so I'm not sure if the kitchen was behind or if she had too many tables, but because we sat and waited for so long, I will not be coming back to this location. I WILL say that the Detroit style pizza was delicious, and that's why I'm giving 2 stars. Something needs to change with the service here because we saw multiple tables around us sitting for 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged them as well. Another party coming in behind us told the same. Please update the websites. Even put the hours in the door. I've been to pizza joint multiple times before and have found it to be lackluster due to slow service on weekends, and once they ran out of a cheese. Their 2 topping pizza also tastes just like average pizza. However, I came once more to try it and it was amazing! I have finally figured out that you should stick with the specialty pizzas. I got the baked potato pizza and it was absolutely delicious. The crust was perfectly baked and crispy, the flavors went so well together, one slice is the size of two normal slices, it's less than $4 a slice.. everything was just simply delicious. All three of those stars are for her. Id give 5 (for her) but don't want to give the wrong impression to PJ as I am not thrilled about the rest of the place. This comes from a very loyal PJ lover, but facts are facts. It is not the same as it once was AT ALL. Managers there are lucky that they have Karris. Her food is delicous and it even looks pretty. I won't eat there if she isn't in the kitchen. The service is slow. Beer isn't very cold. Thank God her food is good because if it weren't? Oh boy. Close the doors! Recommend: Trying the Mellow Mushroom which is a 3 min walk from this place. Summary: 1. Very poor value for the money paid! 2. Came here as suggested by a student, as we were driving through Augusta- but don't have too many good things to say about the service (see cons below) Pros: Decent tasting pizza and calzone- reasonably priced. Courteous folks, with a hollow service! Cons: I came here at 830pm to order 2 pizzas and a calzone. The wait was 35 mins to get the food. So placed a to-go order, came back in 20 min after short walk. Asked for a beer and was told around 850pm that the last call had happened. Subsequently, around 855pm a, asked for sweet tea and was told they had poured it out. As we changed our mind and sat to eat, which the restaurant was aware, we were given plastic utensils to use- as opposed to proper silverware. Well, I know that this would be the last place I will stop by next time I visit Augusta. Leave it up to those who read my post. I tried to give a local business additional business, but they closed services even before their 9pm closing time. And were courteous with a hollow service and poor value for money read more
