    Amatricana

We have a one day layover in Rome and the hotel said this is a nice neighborhood restaurant. It was a short walk from the hotel in a quiet residential neighborhood. It's small, but they are playing nice music and there is an adorable little dog running around! There are a lot of locals having lunch, which is always a good sign. Service was exquisite. The waiter talked us through the menu and even hand wrote the specials in English for us. Top notch service. We looked at the menu and the last time I was in Rome I fell in love with amatricana, so that is what I ordered. It didn't disappoint! Totally different from the last one I had, but equally as good if not better. The sauce was a little thicker and creamier. I added a Negroni and it was strong! Loved it! For desert, espresso. Delicious. If you are on this end of town, stop in. You won't be disappointed.

Our first time eating here was during the summer and they had an outside sitting area. Our kids enjoyed the burgers. This time in winter we went at 6:30pm cause it's less indoor sitting for winter. The warm cicoria (bitter greens) was my favorite. For two of us, price of 55 euros with coffee and dessert was reasonable.

Eating here was an amazing experience. The menu was more limited than other area restaurants, but what they have they EXCEL at. Outstanding meal and well worth the cost. Also, they were very allergy-friendly which was important for our group.

Really good food! Was visiting from LA and checked this based on a recommendation from the hotel, and it was great. Super friendly staff who spoke English with me and food was great price and really good quality and taste.

Not actually Heineken but something much, much better.

Wow, it's hard to rate food in this country because just about everything is at least "pretty good" but this place is off the scale good! Located in Rome's Municipio XIV near Pineta Regional Park ( sometimes called Rome's Central Park) Ferro is kind new in town and has the cool post-modern almost steam punk look of a newer place. Though because they are a bit off the tourist grid most of the staff don't speak much English but the were kind enough print the menus with English subtitles . My advice is to try everything! We had a burger (the spice burger) that was so delicious we had it 2 days in a row! And The Pinsa, (pizza), we're made with such a fluffy and tasty dough! Never had anything like them. Citrus and salmon salad was a huge hit and to top is all off the semifreddo pistaccio desert was sublime. We literally never had a dish that wasn't at least extremely good and most were fantastic. Brass tacks: 3 great beers on tap with a dozen more in bottles and a modest but very well chosen wine list. Try the vermentino and the primitivo. Both excellent. Go to this place. You will not be disappointed :-)

Waitress rolled her eyes and stomped off after asking two simple questions. Well, got up and left after that...

I'll admit, when we first arrived, I almost didn't want to go in. There are no outdoor tables, no servers calling people in, and nothing flashy trying to grab attention. But that's exactly why this place is special. Once inside, we were so glad we stayed. The food was excellent -- simple, well-made, and full of real flavor. What we loved most is that the dishes tasted incredibly good without being overly salty or heavy, which really shows the quality of the ingredients and the care in the cooking. It's a true mom-and-pop shop, run with heart, not hype. This is the kind of place locals go to -- honest food, no gimmicks, and a calm, authentic atmosphere. If you're willing to look past first impressions, this spot is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates genuine Italian food done right.

It is about a 15-minute walk from the hotel. Be prepared for a bit of a trek--the route includes several sets of steps and passes through many dark alleys and poorly lit roads. It felt a bit isolated, so keep that in mind if you're walking at night. We tried a variety of pasta and pizza. Unfortunately, the pasta was disappointing; while the sauces were heavy and "rich," they surprisingly lacked actual depth or seasoning and didn't taste great. However, the pizza was a much better choice. If you decide to eat here, stick to the pizza. There aren't many dining options within walking distance of the hotel, which makes this a convenient spot by default, but the food (specifically the pasta) didn't quite live up to the recommendation.

Of course i got steak and fries on the first day and as I was waiting for my food I seen local people walking in and out with pizzas. It was one of those things where you gotta chill at one spot for a bit to really see it. I knew on the second day I needed to grab a pizza from here or else I'd be sleeping. Damn was I sleeping cuz on the second day the pizza I ate was one of the best I've had in Rome . It comes thick or thin crust and I opted for the thick crust which I enjoyed. Better than any chain pizza that sells by the weight. That looks the same and taste the same . This place makes each pizza unique and never two the same like them cookie cutter squares. The price was only 7.50 for this which makes me think they getting away with murder back home in the west
