My taxi driver suggested this restaurant which at first I thought it was just one of those tourist traps, but it was anything but. Fantastic food at a reasonable price, wine list although not extensive has some affordable hidden gems. I had the lobster and loved it. I didn't plan on getting desert but I was so beguiled I ordered the tiramisu and finished it expeditiously. Upon realizing how fast I ingested the tiramisu, this restaurant has made me realize that I am a tiramislut. I am not ashamed and am thankful for my taxi drive and this restaurants service.

The food was AMAZING! Great authentic Italian cuisine. It was so good we went two nights in a row. Our server was fantastic. He spoke English very well and recommended great dishes to us.

    Grazie, Bernardo!

A very big thank you to Bernardo and staff! They all went out of their way to make our final night in Rome special. Each and every course was spectacular. Get a bottle of the house wines, they were fantastic! Everything we ordered was delectable, down to the table bread! We dined here two nights in a row due to the cuisine, proximity to the Crown Plaza, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. Even on a busy Friday night, Bernardo made the time to sit down with us and treated us to limoncello on the house! The prices are quite reasonable for the quality of dishes. My daughter and I ordered ourselves a three-course meal, including a bottle of wine for under $60. The staff are incredibly detail-oriented and constantly walking around so even if you're waiter is busy cashing a table out, the others are more than happy to accommodate your request, very good teamwork! *Do not pay attention to the reviews about how long it takes/took to get the check. FYI, it's a social custom for the patron to REQUEST the check in Italy as it is considered to be pushy/rude for a server to set the check at the table without being asked. Relax, enjoy, and take your time, a meal should be an experience! If you are leaving the table before the 90-180 minute mark, you're the ones doing it wrong, not them!

    Medium rare steak I guess?

The service was extremely slow, and we got the wrong food twice. The servers never said anything about how they messed up or forgot items we ordered. When we finally got the food it was horrible, undercooked, unseasoned, and just poor quality. The ambiance was ok I guess. The steak I had, I ordered medium rare, it was not even rare in my opinion, and the steak had a ton of gristle.

While in Rome before and after our cruise my fiancée and I stayed at the Crowne Plaza in St. Peter's. While there we ventured out just a little bit because we saw this restaurant was right off of the hotel's property. Let's say that we ate here 3 times during our stay. It was a pleasurable experience each time. Atmosphere/Appearance: When researching this place we noticed that it didn't open until 8:00pm and we just thought that was so strange! Every single say had the same hours from 8:00pm until midnight, but whatever! Lol. We'd show up right when they opened so we could get a good table. It was pretty empty usually right at open, but within a few minutes the place would get flooded. There is a private parking lot attached to the restaurant, but you can absolutely get blocked in. So, yeah, there's that. There are 2 giant sections to this place. When you first walk in you can veer to the right and eat inside. I can't speak on the decor or anything in there because we veered to the left to have a more "outdoor" eating experience. It was like a green house. It wasn't exactly "outside", the roof was made of glass and there were giant windows circling the whole area. Too bad the sun had set long before the restaurant opened so we couldn't get the best views. It was just dark outside. Service: There wasn't just one server that took care of you, it seemed like almost the whole restaurant worked together. I have no idea how they coordinated everything, but it surely worked for them. Everything worked smoothly and we certainly happy. Food: I've had everything from the pasta with tomato sauce, lamb chops, cheesecake, swordfish to the Greek salad. It's all fantastic, but all in smaller portions than what I'm used to in America (naturally). It makes sense to get an appetizer, salad, entree and dessert for it to be considered a full-course meal. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It all tasted freshly prepared and like it was made with love. Value: This isn't a bank-breaking restaurant at all, but it has the appeal of one. I love it. The bottles of wine were cheap, the food was inexpensive and it all just worked so well. So that's why I came here to eat 3 out of the 5 night we stayed at the hotel. It's absolutely worth it and I will surely come back.

Very good food, and incredibly affordable. Portions are very large (too big for me) but you get a lot more for what you are paying for. Bottled water, an appetizer, two entrees (one with half a lobster), a bottle of wine and a shareable dessert was $52. We will be back every night that we are staying in the hotel next door. -Traveling from Arizona, USA

The shrimp appetizer was cooked to perfection and so fresh. The tonarelli with lobster is so tasty and the gnocchi is fantastic. This is the best meal we've had since arriving in Rome. Sorry we didn't find this sooner, I want most everything on the menu. And the house wine....divine.

This restaurant is a solid 5 stars to us and we will return. The decor is very appealing and the Vespa is a great touch! 5 stars in spite of a glitch with our original waiter. They have a pasta dish that sounded great. I speak no Italian and when I ordered I pointed at the item on the menu and tried to pronounce it in Italian. The waiter kept pointing to the item on the line below what we wanted and I said "no" and again pointed to the prawns and zucchini. We did this twice. I'm sorry, but this is the best I can do in countries I don't speak the language. When our plates came out they were wrong. Rather than the dish we ordered they brought us pasta and clams. This was the item listed one line above the prawns and zucchini. We tried to get the waiters attention and we thought he was ignoring us so we ask a young lady for help. She said she would fix it and it was no problem. Her English was much better than the waiters was. Where the pasta and clams came out in 5 minutes the prawns and zucchini took about 20 minutes. We discussed that maybe we were getting fucked with? But then our plates came out and they looked wonderful. Honestly the pasta and clams looked good too, but wasn't what we were in the mood for tonight. We had split a Grecian salad and it was excellent. The prawns and zucchini with cherry tomatoes was to die for! It tasted so good we both loved it. I have to take part of the blame for the order screw up. Next time I have to order like this I will point with my pen rather than my fat finger. That or have Corina order. She speaks Spanish, French, and Portuguese and the odds of her making herself understood in other languages is just better. Plus I have never liked waiters and always prefer a waitress. To me it just seems most waiters have some sort of attitude that disagrees with me. So even with the ordering snafu this gets a 5 star rating from us. To have food this good on our first night in Rome is remarkable. The prices are very reasonable too. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in Rome. And remember we found this place because of the reviews here on Yelp. We went again last night as we were just too tired to take a cab elsewhere. The same as the first night the food was excellent. The service was great too! This place like so many other reviews state is a great bargain. We paid 35€ for both our meals and a bottle of wine. Our friends went into the city and paid 70€ EACH for dinner!

Tomatoes and buffalo caprese salad. We asked for balsamic and it was amazing

YUMMY! forget the reviews from people who expect fast service. This is ITALY! Servers allow you to relax here and the meal entitles you time to relax and eat. A little tip: if you want to dine quickly (American style) have your order all written down--give it to the server and they will bring ALL your food right away. Boring--but efficient. If you prefer time to talk and laugh, make memories and forget the calories then you order antipasti, enjoy it, order first then second plates and experience the hours of joy you are offered. A server will not bug you here--that is considered rude. They are not ignoring you--they are respecting your freedom to sit as long as you like. Bills are brought at midnight. Yes--midnight. It is rude (though they understand if you have kids) to ask for "il conto, per fovore" so you can get out at 10:30-but they frown a little. Now the food: best food ever. Our family likes to travel--this was great by any standards. They have special dishes indicated by little hearts on the menu. Try any or all: they were amazing! The carbonara deserves an entire review--epic. Flavors were subtle but delicious. We loved everything we tried except for 1 dish had more garlic than expected (fettuccine with mushrooms) and that wasn't finished but everything else: LICKED CLEAN. Family of 5 was under 150$ and we ordered (10-15 euro/plate appetizers and first plates--main course fish was 20 euro a plate) a lot of family style plates. Big portions (we ordered 2 carbonara) but everyone left full and happy. Hope you all find the dolce vida! The service was great--we were the only Americans in the place--and the owner was there serving all his friends. They were eating mostly seafood--the baked fish in a salt crust was a big hit (we were not that adventurous--but we might go back tomorrow night) I would recommend reservations if it is a weekend. No one spoke English--why would they? But they have a menu in English which was easy to use. Maybe have your concierge make the reservation. 8:00 seemed like a good opening time. We ate inside--outside seemed more popular but the inside got pretty full by 10:30 when we left.

Truly stellar. This was my favorite dining experience in all of Italy. It's a bit far outside of Rome's center (somewhat close to the Vatican), but making a trip out here is definitely worth it. They have an indoor and half-outdoor seating area. We sat in the outside area and were seated immediately around 8pm. The decor of the restaurant was elegant yet cozy. They have pure white tablecloths and napkins at every table and have softly lit table lamps lining the periphery. The half-outdoor area is surrounded by a garden of flowers, bushes, trees, and ivy. A+ for atmosphere. We ordered the house white wine (half liter for the two of us) and this was plenty. We started with pasta as appetizers and had the fish and steak for our entrees. Both were superb. We noticed that waiters were rolling around a dessert cart with some of the most delicious-looking desserts from chocolate to cheese. We couldn't decide on one, so we ordered two of them. Excellent way to end the night.

We were met by the owner, who, while allowing us to come in, was noticeably unfriendly and came across as rude, which set a negative tone for the meal. We chose this restaurant because of the outstanding Yelp reviews, especially the praise for the pasta dishes. One of the main reasons we ordered the Cacio e Pepe was because several reviews described it being prepared in an authentic cheese wheel. That was not our experience. It was not prepared as expected, and spinach had been added to the dish even though it was not shown in any of the photos we had seen beforehand. Because of that unexpected ingredient, our daughter wouldn't eat it, which was very disappointing. We also ordered the spicy chicken, and it was, unfortunately, the worst chicken my husband and I have ever had. It contained a lot of bones, was extremely fatty, with very little meat, and was simply unpleasant to eat. Considering the quality of the food, the discrepancy between what was advertised and what was served, and the unfriendly service, we did not feel the meal was worth the price. We left disappointed and would not return or recommend this restaurant based on our experience.
